The environment of this hotel is UNSAFE and completely unsatisfactory. No one in their right mind would feel comfortable staying here - violent behavior, shouting, music, motorcycle revving happens all day and all night. The police are regularly called for noise complaints and even frequent 911 calls for fights and domestic disputes. There is trash all over the place, and people hang out on the stoop smoking, playing loud music and basically threatening anyone who looks in their direction.

You know it is a bad place when drive in the parking lot and the first person you see is a security officer. When I first arrived I had to park in the back parking lot at night, it was completely dark with other people walking around in it. Then as I went to the front office there were two police cars with an arrested person in the back seat, I should have turned around right there. When I first entered my room on the second floor the first thing i noticed was the dank stink and the torn window curtain is was also very dirty looking. The bathroom was utterly disgusting there was brown spots on the toilet and dried up toilet paper stuck to the walls. The tub had black mold around the edges accompanied with other peoples hair. The bathroom also had a broken towel rack. Then finally the wall switches for the tub started giving off a burning electrical smell and I did not even use the tub. That was it , I checked out and told the front desk clerk that I do not feel safe in that room. I checked other reviews before I went there and the most recent were positive but don't be fooled by the pictures. This place is unsafe and seems to serve many seedy type customers.

This hotel is a bit of a head scratcher. Lobby was clean & help desk friendly & helpful. Upon walking into room one thinks room is updated and part of it is...the bedroom is updated with new flooring & such. But then, you look at vanity & bathroom & it is a completely different look & vibe. Old, outdated but clean. I have to say, whole room was clean but only half way renovated. I did appreciate and use the fridge with freezer and microwave. There is a coffeemaker & hairdryer. The mattress was very firm and I mean very firm and pillows were as well. Enjoyed & used the jacuzzi tub in room. Breakfast was delicious. Real eggs, fruit, cereal, waffles, sausage, potatoes, coffee & more. We were very happy with the breakfast selection.

This place is good value in San Jose. It feels a bit dated but has everything you need. (we wanted something clise to the railway station) The room was clean and the bed good sized and comfortable. Breakfast choice was good. The jacuzzi bath was welcome after: a) a long flight; and b) a busy day sightseeing in San Francisco.
