Very messy arrangements and management....but this hotel ended up being perfect for us because we were the only guests in three rooms. We gathered in the "common" space on the second floor right outside our rooms. We set up a bar and had a great time. Round the edges, this was a very strange place. There is a lobby, but...

We were in St Helena for a family event and booked 6 rooms. One had no hot water in the lavatory. Another had no heat on the first night which had outside temperatures in the low 40's. Another room with no heat also had a window which could not be fully closed. Worst of all was a room that had...

Our extended family came to the valley for two big family events this weekend. We had a reservation at a much nicer place but switched to this hotel when our group expanded. What a mistake! For the price we paid, I am appalled by the quality of this hotel. "Quaint" is fine and can be very charming, but this is...

I admittedly made a mistake by booking only for 2 nights when I only needed 1 night, I called the hotel right away (within 2 mins) and they refused to give me a refund for the second night. It seems absurd to have to pay for two nights for a simple mistake. What's worse is they were unkind and rude...

After seeing my dirty, no ventilation room, with a window that wouldn't open and a disgusting shower I left and booked a room at Southbridge Hotel down the street. This hotel has no amenities, virtually no space in the tiny bedroom and no staff. They charged my credit card before I even arrived and presented me with the receipt when...

Management poor. TV did not work in room 204 because the wall plug was dead nor did the phone work. Room 210 had a workable TV but no phone. The bedside light needed a bulb. No elevator. Not a place for disabled. No support for the poor women who worked the evening or night shift . She had no clue...

I've stayed in third world countries that tried harder than this. The staff was less than accommodating and acted put out during any encounter with them. The carpet was disgusting and looked as though it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The bathroom towels all had stains on them that were either rust or blood. The shower was moldy and the...

AVOID THIS ONE!!! How this hotel gets away with a RIDICULOUS fee of 500$/NITE for VERY pared down service and CRUMMY rooms, I don't know. I would have felt fine if I were paying 80$/nite....but with 500$ there is a GREAT expectation for EXEMPLARY service and a WELL APPOINTED room. YOUR WON"T FIND THAT HERE!!! . Victorian in looks charming...

We visited near the peak of harvest season and paid nearly $600 per night, which has a tendency to set higher expectations in terms of what you get for that price point. For the price, or even for half that, we were very disappointed. Any hotel that is over 100 years old should have some level of charm, which this...

We took a trip from the Bay Area and wanted to stay in St Helena and chose this hotel for its location. We asked for a room and the rate was $349 for room with private bathroom, I should have check the trip advisor app first, because the rate was $100 cheaper on the app. We like historic hotels, but...
