We were a little put off with the neighborhood, but it seems it is one of those that are beginning to revitalize. The hotel has secure parking and courtyard. The room was large and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I love the quiet atmosphere of this little hotel. I like that its gated. The staff is very polite and courteous. Anna at the front desk was very helpful and understanding. I love coming here to get away.
Online the hotel rooms look great it got a great rating and it was reasonable however when we got there my sister and I it is a very sketchy area and probably unsafe for women travelers anyway. We saw several homeless people within a block. Lisa people smoking pot within the block. The hotel receptionist was very nice very honest.
The hotel staff were great during our stay, they made special arrangements for early check in and helped with recommendations for food (Uptown Pizza was great) and parks (the park nearby they did NOT recommend for kids). They were a bit challenging to book though: ultimately we were able to book their last three rooms but had to book at three different websites with different prices for two of the same rooms. Our rooms (V and Y) were large and had loads of space for kids to run around. But our other room (G) was much smaller ... it was a queen bed so smaller made sense, but the room was half the size of V and Y). Also, room G's shower drain was very slow so water would build up as you showered (they probably already fixed this with some draino, but it wasn't able to be fixed that evening when we mentioned it, it was late on a weekend though). Room V was great but the shower pressure was really variable: okay at first then just a drip - turned it off for a minute then came back on okay, bue the next morning the pressure was great ... weird). The floors of the rooms were dirty (left us with noticeably dirty socks) but the bathroom and beds were VERY clean which matters more. The place looks cool, a little wannabe hipster, but that was fine with us, they made a real effort and it's nice rather than just a plain vanilla hotel like Best Western or such. Room XXX had a bachelorette party and the noise didn't keep us up so I think the walls are thick. No elevator to the second floor. They were heavily booked and there was limited parking in their gated property so I wouldn't plan on having two cars. I'd recommend this if the location fits your needs and you can deal with the pater pressure being a little finicky, but just okay for kids (though they loved playing in the courtyard).…
I’m a youngish lady and was going to Sacramento by myself for 2 nights. I don’t really know anyone in Sac so relied on the trip advisor reviews to help me choose a place to stay. I really didn’t want to break the bank as I knew I wouldn’t be spending a ton of time in the room but also wanted a place that felt safe, clean and at least somewhat stylish. I got all of that with the Greens! First off the location is nice and secure which I really appreciated. My Uber driver on the way confirmed that it’s an “up and coming” neighborhood. I even walked to the liquor store in the daytime praying they’d have an iPhone charger (which they did) and along the way was greeted with hellos and how are yous from the other people walking down the street. I never felt unsafe at all! Although I can’t say I’d be strolling around at night. There also didn’t seem to be a ton of places to eat or hang in walking distance but Uber was always 3 minutes away and an 8 minute drive to some nice spots! I stayed in room Y which is a king size room on the bottom floor in the corner and is super cute! The bed was very comfy and I got great sleep! There is a keurig machine and a mini fridge in the room which is also nice. As mentioned in other reviews, there’s no closet or drawers but there is a place to hang about 6 items and 2 suitcase stands which was perfect for me. There’s no desk in the room but I moved the lounge chair to the table by the tv and made it my make shift desk. Definitely not ergonomic but it worked. The bathroom is basic but clean and I appreciated that they didn’t skimp on the towels. There are vending machines in the courtyard and I even sat out and ate my lunch one day as the sun set. I enjoyed it! I didn’t get to hang but the pool but it’s a cute quaint area. It’s so secluded and tucked away that many of the Uber drivers couldn’t see where to go so I got in a habit of calling them first to guide them in. All in all it is leaps ahead of any other property you’ll find for the same price. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area and on a budget! ☺️…
I have stayed at Greens several times over the past few years, and they pretty much hold onto their high standards. When I arrived in my room, the TV wasn't working, but Erik came up immediately after I called, discovered it was the controller that wasn't synced and quickly fixed the problem. The staff was friendly as always. The only thing I'll comment on is the fact I stayed in the room upstairs with an attached private patio area. Unfortunately, it wasn't really usable. The outdoor table, chairs, and umbrella that had been there on my last stay were gone. There were a couple of metal lounge chairs, but they had no cushions on them, so they weren't very inviting. In addition, there were a couple of regular metal chairs which again, were'nt very inviting without cushions. At minimum, you really need some kind of large table umbrella up there on these sunny Sacramento days. On the other hand, thank you for keeping up the pool area. I really enjoyed taking a dip there. The pool area had towels already rolled up at the various lounge chairs (those pool lounge chairs did have cushions!). Overall, however, it was a very good experience. You definitely get more than what you pay for. I'll be back! Thank you. P.S. I LOVE that there is a coffee shop directly next store..it even has a private door to connect it to the hotel grounds so you don't have to walk on the street. There is also a new sushi restaurant right next store and a local theatre company....could be fun to watch a play while you stay at Greens!…
This place is a secure gated hotel with very good sized rooms and very friendly staff. Checking in was easy and the room comfortable fit our family in. The beds were super comfortable and the kids enjoyed the pool. Nice coffee shop next door and highly recommend the brewery for dinner. Nice little touches like when we went to the pool the lady came straight out with towels for us. Everything was clean and was perfect for our one night stopover.
This hotel is a great deal in Sacramento. Clean, recently renovated, and great staff! We originally got a downstairs room and we could hear the upstairs neighbors making a lot of noise. We called the front desk and Michelle immediately moved us to the king suite. We are so grateful to Michelle!
Our party of 6 had reserved 2 rooms with dbl queens -- we got one room with a king, one room with a queen, plus a couch (not a pull out couch!), and a rusty roll away bed. the rollaway bed was so bad, that person wound up sleeping on the floor. Plus, we were overcharged $122, and they have yet to contact us regarding the overpayment, despite my multiple calls and emails. Lastly the hotel is in a sketchy area of Sacramento!!
Thank you my fellow trip advisors for your I information related to this hotel. It was everything you said and more! I was disappointed that Room B was taken when I called so the nice girl gave me a complementary upgrade with a King Bed. The room was huge! My room was V. I loved it and the bed was comfortable and the room was trendy! I forgot to take a photo of the light fixture it was so cool and space aged. The carpet looked liked hardwood floors.Everything was spotless. No closets and no clock. I guess I’m telling my age. The pool area was cute I wanted to swim but the pool had to many leafs and slightly too cold for me. One nice maid talk to us and told us to go to her favorite dinner place Tokyo Steakhouse, we really wanted small plates so we found a brochure in the lobby for happy hour the food was dynamite! It was a short walk three blocks down called the Woodlake Tavern. We also went to the King Kong Brewery across the street! It was awesome too! The area isn’t very good but it’s trying to become a trendy area and I think it’s well on its way! I felt safe walking around about three blocks and that was it. I would definitely stay again. Free parking and gated area a plus and the only down fall no breakfast but who cares the price is right!!! …
