Our room was very large and comfortable. The staff were pretty much non-existent. Breakfast was nothing amazing although the baked goods were nice. The reason for giving 3.5 starts is mostly due to location. I think Point Arena in its self is not the most "quaint" city town along the 1. You can do much better. The Inn is located... More

Very enjoyable B & B. Lovely cooked breakfast, very nice spacious room. Great location next to the small harbor. Not much sun on our visit though. Pleasant owners. We would come again. A little expensive

We had 3 very quiet nights with excellent breakfasts every morning with a wide variety of other travelers. If you want break from TV, radio, phones, and noise, this is the inn for you. Like a few other reviewers, I might of liked seeing the hosts a bit more than when I checked in and briefly at breakfast. Maybe an... More

The Coast Guard House Historic Inn had always intrigued me and I was very pleased when we made reservations there for our wedding anniversary get-away. The grounds are beautiful and the Inn meticulously maintained. The cozy common spaces have been furnished with mission-style furniture and, if it were a little colder, the stove in the gathering room would have been... More

We chose this place on the recommendation of a Coastal Living article. Nice, historic former Coast Guard station, now historical inn. Disappointed the owners weren't on sight for some questions but Ophilia made delicious breakfasts. Went to the Chowder House for dinner. Very good crab stuffed salmon, right on the cove overlooking the water. Wanted to do the Bluff Trail... More

We enjoyed 3 days of relaxing and hiking. It was wonderful to have a large second floor room with beautiful views. We experienced warm weather, open windows and cross breezes. It was nice to have the fireplace on for cocktails. The Inn is beautifully restored and maintained!

Spent two nights in the "Boat House." The "Boat House," located just up the hill from the main house, was simple but nice. The bluff to the west shields the site from the wind but still affords a view of the cove. Great place to drink some wine and listen to the ocean. Breakfast was well done though a bit... More

We are 2 50+adults living very busy lives and desparately needing a break. Coast Guard House has lovely comfortable rooms and cottages: Surfman's cove has gas fireplace and soaking tub (admitedly a wierd shape but you can get used to it). 2 restaurants and coffee at the pier within walking. The town of Pt. Arena is 1 mile away with... More

After researching a few places in the area, my sister and I decided on the Coast Guard House for a weekend getaway. The Keepers Canyon room was perfect -- two bedrooms and a shared bathroom inside our room gave us the privacy we needed and kept our budget intact. No view of the ocean but our rooms both had great... More

My spouse and I debated if this hotel/B&B was more rustic or quaint. We decided on the quaint side of rustic. Rooms had good space and nice linens. Super quiet location. You will enjoy the flower gardens and the swift parents feeding their nestlings. Half a block walk to the pier and a very rocky shoreline (not really a beach).... More
