The staff is the best part about this hotel. All very helpful and nice. We did a quick staycation during the summer with our 7 y/o son. He was in awe of how big and "fancy" the hotel was. Since the hotel is SO big, I do feel like it's hard for the staff to manage the grounds perfectly. The recreation area was definitely neglected, but my son still enjoyed it. The pool isn't the biggest - and the patio chairs are VERY close together - but it's still a pool! We stayed in a Deluxe Premier Room - kinda funky shape - and not the best view (we had a tree blocking any view we would have). The rooms could use also use a refresh. Bottom line, we had fun and it was an enjoyable stay - just wouldn't really call it a 5-star hotel right now.
Staff were attentive. The food was amazing. Service was perfection. Gardens are exquisite. The pool is just lovely. Breakfast is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Everything in the hotel worked seamlessly.
I was double booked with another guest. I opened the door and was exposed to women getting dressed. They were extremely startled and I was extremely embarrassed for me and my guest. I have never had an experience like this again.
This hotel is beautiful, but it is very expensive and doesn't offer many amenities. Especially for the price we're paying. The restaurants and bars are expensive. The pillows are terrible. The towels and robes are old and scruffy. They need to purchase new bedding, towels, and robes.
Loved this hotel. The gardens are beautiful, excellent service and the hotel has a European flair. From the moment we stepped out of our car to the minute we left we loved our trip and were treated with care by a well trained staff.
Stayed at this location for two days for a family wedding. The room we were placed in was beyond tacky with a broken espresso machine, a runny toilet, and dust everywhere. When I lodged my complaints about that and other matters, they sent some woman and the head of security to "deal with me" - which was insulting, demeaning, and intimidating. I am 100% sure that it was because of my race. I will NEVER go back to the Langham and suggest to anyone of color who wants to be treated fairly to give it some thought as well.
This is a lovely hotel and grounds. Rooms can do with a redo - we had our pet and it would have been nice to be on a lower floor and closure to the outside, but the fact such a nice hotel allows pets and provides a doggy bed, bowls and a treat, it is hard to complain.
My wife and I stayed for the first time at the Langham Pasadena over a long weekend. The hotel has a historic feel with classic charm and elegance. Our Executive Club Suite booking came with access to the Club Lounge -- a hidden gem that offered a delicious breakfast, snacks, afternoon tea, dinner appetizers, coffees, and cocktails throughout the day. It was a wonderful perk to have, and provided a relaxing atmosphere to lounge in. The beautiful and spacious hotel grounds has a Japanese garden, large pool, powerful jacuzzi, thriving herb garden, and a shaded play area called Langham Station complete with 9-hole mini-golf and ping-pong tables. The Chuan Spa & Fitness Center has a gym & yoga room, as well as separate men's and women's steam rooms, saunas, and jacuzzis available to all guests, which we happily enjoyed. There were also exercise and yoga classes offered (complimentary?), but we didn't make time for them. Pro Tip: Make sure you make note of where the nearest bathrooms are to the pool and play area, as there are presently no signs directing the way. It's better to know and not need it, then to need it and not know where the nearest bathrooms are. ;) We especially appreciated the complimentary bicycle rentals provided with helmets and locks, and the valets even put water bottles on them to remind us to stay hydrated. So thoughtful! It was a nice ride to and from the Huntington Library Gardens (take the northern route along Lombardy & Arden Roads, which has a designated bike path through shaded streets and nice houses.) All the amenities and perks made our stay thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. Thanks for a wonderful stay! …
Overall, I would recommend the hotel location for business meetings with many areas to sit for small or large group discussions. The staff were professional and the food was excellent. My room however, was located next to the banquet/storage/staging area, so I didn't have a good night sleep with the constant movement and noise from the staff.
We really enjoyed our one night at the Langham. The hotel is a century-old masterpiece that used to be a Ritz-Carlton, and the 23-acre grounds feature numerous gardens and paths to walk. Make sure you check out the Picture Bridge, an old wooden covered bridge walkway that has numerous scenes from California painted on it. The ballroom is apparently very well known for events and we really liked sitting outside at the Tap Room for a late night cocktail. Breakfast near the pool was fantastic. Overall it's a gorgeous hotel that we will definitely visit again.
