We needed to travel to Pasadena for a funeral and stay just one night. This motel is not fancy, but clean, cute, retro, and affordable. For a quick trip to Pasadena, we would stay here again. I didn't see the rooms in the larger building (3 stories), but I would choose a ground-level room again.

We stayed at the Saga many years when our son lived nearby. The staff is great, the rooms are clean and spacious, and it's very reasonably priced. They offer a continental breakfast that is free, and there are many good restaurants nearby.

This classic motel has a nice pool with palms and rose bushes around that keeps it sheltered from the parking lot and busy Colorado Ave. I like to take public transportation as much as possible and it is on direct bus routes and near the Metro Goldline. The room is comfortable, (books are provided!) and people are quiet. The staff...

The first time I visited the Saga was a year or so ago. It's a classic Motel that has character. The small front desk area also doubles as a small breakfast room. The rooms are comfortable and spacious The only thing I would add is the pool wasn't heated on all our visits. However, in the summer heat this didn't...

This classic 'motor inn' on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena is right along the Rose Parade route -- and I wouldn't dream of going near it that weekend. But most of the year, it's a quiet, nicely appointed hideaway that's perfectly located if you're doing things on the eastern side of L.A. For me, a horseplayer, that means a hop and...

This is a basic motel. You get just what you expect — a comfortable place to rest your bones. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. If you want fancy, don't come here...but don't blame them for your mistake. This is a classic motel on Route 66. The location could not be better. Good places to eat all around....

This is our hotel of choice when staying in the greater Los Angeles area. The location is easily accessible, the light rail system that eliminates issues associated with traffic is a mere four four blocks away, the rooms are comfortable and clean if a bit dated, and the prices are most reasonable. The bonus is an array of unique, fascinating...

Loved this spot! We were traveling from Seattle to Phoenix via I-5 and then 210 and wanted a safe and perhaps unique spot to stay around the LA area. Pasadena fit the bill and the Saga won us over with the "historic Route 66 motel" description and great reviews. It didn't disappoint, the staff was very friendly, rooms are cute...

A 50s motor court; complete with old sign, a pool, and palm trees. Clean, comfortable rooms. I am very sensitive to odors and mold and did not detect anything amiss, as one reviewer mentioned. I chose a second floor room - since the elevator is out they go for a discount. Too far from Old Town to walk there, but...

The room we had was one of their 'suites'. It was one large room with 2 queen sized beds and 1 king bed. It had a balcony overlooking the parking lot. The hotel was built in the 1950's. There is a pool and free continental breakfast it included in the rate. We had a microwave and refrigerator. I am not...
