I stayed in this hotel a week as I was travelling for business purpose. The prices for the hotel rooms are very high, but given the overall cost of living in Palo Alto and also the location of the hotel it seemed okay. The biggest let down was the room service which is pretty much non existent. Given the $400...

This was one of my best lodging experiences. They have a wide range of rooms from suites to shared baths. I did the latter, and the price was very reasonable, considering the location. Very well maintained - porcelain and metal all sparkles and not a water spot to be found on any mirror. Out of curiosity I crawled down on...

Have stayed here many times. It is a classic establishment that has been here for ever. Though the rooms have nice updates, the lobby still has the classic old look. They still have the old style original elevator which adds the extra charm. And to boot, its in the heart of the town so easy access to walk everywhere. Rooms...

While this is probably the first time I have spent $250 per night for a room in a two star hotel, I appreciated the location and the early 20th century building. The nonchalant service tells you right away that they are in a seller's market and they know it. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable stay and I had no problem...

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Had corner room on the top floor. Not a big room, but just lovely. Don't worry about all the nightlife on the street below. The windows are soundproof. Great location to walk all of downtown Palo Alto, which we found so engaging, and into the nearby neighborhoods where you can find redwoods and a variety...

Stayed here for a few nights in June. There is no AC. I somehow missed this fact in my travel research. I think normally this wouldn't be an issue but it was a hot (for the area) couple of days. Check in was swift & easy. The room was immaculately clean and welcoming. I had a room with a private...

Palo Alto may be one of the foremost tech capitals in America, but after stepping into the Cardinal Hotel, you're swept back into a more glamorous time. The sweeping lobby offers a relaxing place to just sit and take it all in, and leads into a carved staircase leading to the elegantly-outfitted rooms. The staff is incredibly helpful with restaurant...

The Cardinal was built in the 1920's. It has a beautiful lobby where you can sit and relax with the New York Times and Wall Street Journal and enjoy good coffee or a nice cup of tea. The old elevator actually is quite fast; there are only three floors. The room was tastefully decorated and had a comfortable bed. I...

The architectural charm of this ideally situated, old-school California hotel is substantial, starting from the luxurious lobby, as if straight out of a Coen brothers film. Rooms are very clean and generously renovated, and service is excellent. If you stay the weekend and are a light sleeper, you might stay clear of rooms in the 200-206 and 300-306 range: overlooking...

It was the best choise to stay in Cardinal Hotel close to Stanford University (Palo Alto). The price and comfort of a room was exact. Maybe the only suggestion is to select another restaurant for breakfast and not to use one suggested by a hotel (Bistro Maxine).
