We stayed at Colony Palms Hotel through a deal with Groupon. It seems to me that we were treated differently because we were a Groupon users. The people at the front desk (except for the lady with the British accent) were pretentious and whenever we requested something out of ordinary, they gave us a look like we were bothersome to...

From the moment we got to the hotel we were greeted by staff. One of the gardeners of the hotel was kind enough to open the gate to enter the hotel grounds and just like that he set the mood for the rest of our stay at the Colony Palms. We got a complementary upgrade upon checking in and when...

The Colony Palms Hotel is a lovely hotel with a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere. However, be mindful that during summer season certain services (such as meals/room service) are significantly curtailed. For example, Sunday -Wednesday only a modest Continental breakfast is available, which was a significant disappointment given that we aimed to rest and relax rather than heading into town first...

The Colony Palms is a beautiful hotel with wondferful history. We loved the pool, bar and the beautiful grounds. The restaurant was actually really yummy too. Unfortunatly, the rooms aren't up to par. The are decent looking (just decent....not wonderful) and clean, but they aren't very functional. There are no cabinets to put clothes away and my biggest complaint.....no vanity...

We visited the Colony Palms as part of our fly drive honeymoon in California. It was fabulous. August, we found out was off season for Palm Springs (hot hot hot) so the hotel was fairly quiet. We love quietness. The room was stylish and had an enormous shower and an astonishingly well stocked mini bar (full bottles of Tequila-Rock on!)....

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary getaway last week after choosing this hotel from the Tripadvisor reviews. I had booked a "Colony King" room, and upon arriving on a Thursday, was told that we had already been upgraded to a Superior room. This seemed like great news until we got to the room. It's hard to image...

There is nothing remotely close to the Colony Palms. I knew I found the perfect resort as soon as I called. Being here is like being at a friends house. The grounds are magnificent and intimate. Wonderful pool and happy guests and employees greet you at every corner. As I write my review I am presently in the emergency room....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally built in 1936 by reputed Purple Gang Mobster Al Wertheimer, the Colony Palms Hotel was once a saloon, speakeasy and gambling house that later became a playground for Hollywood ICONS including Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Rita Hayworth. Colony Palms Hotel has maintained its nobility as a stunning four-star boutique hotel spread out over a three acre property. The rooms promise subtle sophistication with brilliantly colored mosaic tiles and fabrics, rich woods, and suzani headboards. Many have fireplaces and claw-foot bathtubs. Mature gardens throughout the property provide privacy, and intimate outdoor spaces, and the rooms open to the a central courtyard with pool. The hotel’s restaurant, the Purple Palm boasts exquisite cuisine and a stunning view of both the pool and San Jacinto Mountains. The newly redesigned Spa offers a serene atmosphere and top of the line treatments. Colony Palms Hotel also plays host to a variety of stunning weddings and events, with the option of utilizing a newly refreshed private event space or a full property buyout for a truly intimate celebration. Colony Palms Hotel is a mix of modern luxuries with a dash of romance and tranquil getaway. ... more   less
