This was our first time at Ocotillo and we will be back, but not at Unit #311! We spent two months there in 2017 and could not believe this particular unit was managed by a company (McLean's) on behalf of the owner. The lodge (originally a hotel but now individually owned condos) is about 70 years old and, while the...

Loved this complex. Not too far from he main centre and more importantly close to a Koffi shop! The pool was a god send as temps approached 100% degrees! The complex used to be a quality hotel when it was built during the 50s - who know who once stayed there...? Book a room if you can. The busses unto...

Great place to stay for one night, or a whole season. This former hotel has been converted into individually owned condo units. There is a renewed interest in the OL and many units are being bought as vacation rentals. The unit we stayed in, 308 was just renovated. With its mid century style and modern amenities it was a great...

I had a great experience at Ocotillo Lodge, as I researched, looked at condo photos, read reviews and talked with the owner prior to booking my condo. As in any type of individually owned rentals, if you do the normal above items there should never be a surprise when you arrive...as some reviews here seem to suggest they did not...

As each unit is individually owned, it is best to check out what you rent. There are some great suites here that are well cared for and have great reviews on vacation rental sites.

Every unit is different, and the ones I saw were all dated and dingy, but that's what you get with a condo complex that rents out to vacationers. Our one bedroom unit felt overly lived-in and was decorated in grandma style. Will not return or recommend.

January 2016--- The Ocotillo Lodge is a fantastic complex of mid-century modern vacation condos, designed by famed PS architects Palmer & Krisel, that are approximately 500-600 square-feet in size, with Large outdoor patios and are individually owned. In its heyday, the dazzling structure's sweeping curved dining room was dressed to the nines, resting above the immense keyhole-shaped swimming pool while...

Thanks! As all units are individually owned, various reviews may only be about THAT particular unit.

First off this place has some really great history behind it. I'm not going to go to deep into it, but the likes of Lucille Ball, Gene Autry, Marilyn Monroe and JFK, just to name a few, have stayed here over the years. #1 The number one attraction of the Ocotillo lodge for me, and I'm sure many of my...

The unit was very dated by a very noisy street. Ongoing construction from morning to night which we were not told about. Pool was not well maintained. Air conditioning was noisy and wpke up people next door. Front desk was only open 2 hours a day and no onsite security. Absolutely no veiw and no privacy. This was booked based...

Although the complex dates back to the 40's (originally a hotel, converted to individual units) the outside areas are well maintained and (depending on the individual unit owner) most units are clean, comfortable, well stocked and upgraded. In addition to a large, heated pool and two hot tubs, the location is perfect, right on Palm Canyon Drive and convenient to grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, post office and the the other...

Let me start by saying that this review is from a particular rental unit. My issues were entirely with the bungalow itself and not the grounds. The grounds are well kept and the pool in nice and large. Nothing fancy just a nice pool with a great mountain view. I rented my bungalow from 'Sun and Fun Vacation Rentals'. The...

“McLean Realty handles many of the rentals and they seem to have a superior attitude. They cannot be bothered to show the available units but refer you to their website where photos are available. Our unit last year looked great in the photos but did not show the cracks in the plastic covering on the chairs with the stuffing ready to come out or the couch that is so old the springs are shot.On their behalf, they were quick to react to minor repairs that arose during our extended stay.”
