#47 of 78 hotels in Palm Springs
The Saguaro Palm Springs is a colorful hotel in the desert. There's plenty of sunshine, a buzzing pool scene, and lots of local flavor. The 244 room hotel has multiple restaurants, bars, and meeting spaces -- all of which surround a stunning pool location. Designed to reflect the colorful vibrant spirit of the Coachella Valley desert, the bold color palette is the work of renowned architects Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat, who have infused the property with hues that reflect indigenous desert flowers.

We needed an event room on short notice, and the manager, Ashlee Flores, was extremely accommodating and extremely welcoming! All the staff was kind, respectful, & willing to open their doors and resources to us. If ever I’m in Palm Springs, I’m headed to the Saguaro, and I’m recommending it to everyone I know!

The front desk staff was nice and some of the decor was cute, but it didn’t really make up for all of the other weirdness of this place. The air conditioning unit in our room made a horrible grinding sound all night and the slamming of other guest doors and loud yelling didn’t make for a great night’s sleep. I booked a “pool view” room and the only “view” we had were the large hedges that covered up the pool. It was pretty disappointing considering how excited I was to stay here and how much I paid for the room. I was also annoyed because the mini fridge in the room was stocked with these great little seltzer drinks but we weren’t allowed to take them out to the pool. It would have been fine if they also served them at the pool bar because we were PAYING $7 each for them, but they didn’t have them there. Not everyone wants to drink a beer or a mixed drink. If they’re not going to allow outside beverages, they should at least have the same ones at the bar. The two mojitos we ordered at the pool bar didn’t even have mint in them and they had zero flavor for $14 each. Horrible. For the price, I could have definitely found something nicer than a remodeled Holiday Inn. I won’t stay here again. Really, really disappointed.

This is basically a copy & paste of the email that I sent management one week ago, after my July 4th stay. I’ve received no response in any form and I’m looking into disputing the charges for my stay with my bank. I stayed at the Saguaro July 4-6 2021. I’d like to preface by saying that I’ve stayed at the Saguaro a few times before, most recently for my birthday in January 2021. We had the best time in January and I was especially looking forward to returning for this trip, since this time there wouldn’t be as many Covid restrictions. Check-in was breeze and as always, the staff was extremely polite but things took a turn for us when we went out to the pool. We’d only been in the pool for a few minutes when my partner got a giant clump of hair wrapped around her leg in the water. We decided to exit the pool and on our way out, we passed by a floating mass of what appeared to be vomit in the water. I can’t verify that it was vomit, but there shouldn’t be a smelly, dense, chunky mass of anything in the pool. We immediately went upstairs and showered. On 7/5, we decided to skip the pool based on the previous experience and try the hot tub. Getting into the hot tub, I stepped on a clear plastic cup at the bottom and cut my foot. It was upsetting. On 7/6, we decided to lay by the pool when it opened at 8 and that was interrupted about 45 minutes later by jackhammering so loud we couldn’t hear each other even though we were yelling. For us, the pool is absolutely the main draw of the hotel and it was completely unusable for us for our entire stay. It was utterly disappointing. In addition to the pool issues, we had trouble with the AC in our room actually cooling (we were in 228). It would run OK for a while and then slow down and make these loud clicking sounds that woke us up a few times in the night. We woke up sweaty and the room was hot so I called down the next morning to ask about it. I didn’t catch his name but I spoke to a guy and he said it would be checked on. We spent that day and evening out and about and when we got back, we assumed that it had been handled but our second night was also hot with a noisy, weak AC. I will say that the bartender working in the mornings at El Jefe (I can’t recall his name but he has longer hair, beard & glasses) was always exceptionally nice and helpful and made our morning coffee experience pleasant. The staff is the only reason this isn’t a one star review

This is a super fun resort for a girls trip! I stayed at the Ace several years ago, but the price made me consider this hotel instead. I really enjoyed the style of this hotel! Even though I went a few months ago when Covid rules were higher, the pool scene was still really fun for a girls trip. There were a couple bachelorette parties as well as a few families and adult groups at the pool - everyone mixed together well and the scene was really fun! The pool service and food was great too, the staff at the bar and the lobby were always helpful and friendly. I loved the style of the hotel, and next time I would love to get a room facing the pool, those guests seem to enjoy using their balconies (our room was over the parking lot). The room was a good size (king bed), but the carpet was a bit old. For the price, I really don't have a complaint on that, just be aware it's a little dated in the rooms. Fun colors though! Also this is convenient to the downtown area of Palm Springs, we walked to breakfast one morning and enjoyed the mountain view and the scenery. Uber rides were quick back and forth as well.

I recently stayed here a couple times in June, and let me just say that it gets better and better each stay! The atmosphere is so fun and lively, and everything on the El Jefe/ pool bar menu is AMAZING and does not disappoint I had the pleasure of meeting the manager Ashlee and she went above and beyond to my make stay incredible. She is so kind, accommodating, and thoughtful. My mom wanted to surprise my boyfriend and I with a bottle of Prosecco, and Ashlee literally hand delivered the bottle to our room when we were out at dinner and even left a heartfelt note attached. She is definitely the reason I will be returning to this hotel! THANK YOU ASHLEE!
