Very friendly staff. Hotel was well maintained. Extremely quiet ... just the way I like it. Room was basic, but very clean and up to what I needed. Tucked into a very quiet business area. Definitely a place for anyone wanting a little bit of peace and quiet.
This trip was a post-Covid family gathering. We needed to procure items for an outdoor cookout and this hotel is close to Costco and a couple other grocery stores. Also, close to multiple restaurants. Perfect!!
Stayed here during a work trip. Overall a good hotel, but some things to work on. First, the digital key didn't work, forcing me to return to the front desk with all my luggage to get a card key. Second, the room smelled kind of like a dirty toilet, although the toilet appeared clean. Lastly, the internet was quite spotty and dropped in and out. I know the answer to that is to pay for the upgraded internet, but my view is in this day and age, internet should work well and have enough bandwidth to do what you need to do. I'll probably stay here again, but I hope details like this will be better the next time.
This trip was an over night trip for our grandkids. We have stayed at the Garden Inn before. Great location, restaurant, shopping and things to do. Overall the Garden Inn is good, nice staff. Looking forward to our next trip.
I am so disappointed in the Hiltons for allowing all the rooms to have pets. I don't care how clean the animal is and that you take a deposit. Animals leave hair and smells. Our room smelled a little when we first came in but smelt like cleaning chemicals. My husband went to bed right away and sat around for a while and I started sneezing. Then i thought a smelled pee. I went to bed. I woke up all night smelling pee and dog. then I got up to go to the bathroom and the carpet was wet. I guess they had just cleaned the floors and tried to get the smell out. It didn't work. It was disgusting. I woke up with a horrible headache, They did give us another room the next day that didn't smell like animals. Come on Hilton you need to designate certain rooms for animals.
There were a few glaring problems: firstly, the staff were uncourteous n the lobby. They spoke back very unprofessionally, were unhelpful and seemed completely disinterested in having us. Secondly, the exhaust in our room was dysfunctional. Finally, the linen was not ironed and seemed worn out. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends or family.
Room and facility were nice. Thought the $15.00 breakfast was overpriced. Not much interaction with staff. Might look elsewhere next visit? I really don’t have 200 words to complete my review. Is that really nessesary? Farmers market in Oxnard was nice, but I suspect that’s where I got Covid, should have masked up, my bad. The Pizza place might be another spot to get infected, but it was really good , did the salad bar.
Clean room and comfortable bed for our overnight stay--the two musts! The website advertises a hotel restaurant but provides no further detail. We expected more, but it turned out to be tables basically located in the lobby. The setup didn't appeal to us and we walked down the street to Outback for dinner. We expected local company for breakfast (and had picked the hotel with restaurant because of this) but given the setup, we opted to go down the street to Cafe Amri, which was an excellent cafe. The front desk person remained engrossed in her computer in silence when I presented myself to check-in. When she then took a phone call while still not acknowledging me, I moved away from the desk and used my cellphone and express check-in to access our room.
After a long a frazzling drive we arrived around 2 pm to be told no check in before 4. It’s winter and the place us clearly half empty but we had wait for 2 1/2 hours before we got our room. The room is old with that clunky dark wood of a long passed decade. The single window didn’t make it brighter. However this was just a pit stop on our way south. The beds were comfortable and the place was dead quiet. The highlight of our stay was the two adorable young women who tend the bar and the restaurant. They were friendly and sweet and do a terrific job.
They didn’t honor the complimentary breakfast like they said the had when booking it online. They charged 15 buck per person. I should of gone to Denny’s and at least they would of given us our AARP discount and senior or military. I’ve if for buffet and the other is for made to order. You couldn’t have something from each! Handicapped assessable they are not. The bathtubs are slippery! The shower head kept moving down. They should have at least. Helper shower chair. I asked for a cot. Again they said online when booking we would be accommodated. Spent way too much money for this.
