My visit to Pepper Tree was the 5th time I attended a retreat there. This time I have to say that the food was great, the weather perfect and the atmosphere was ripe for learning. The staff at Pepper Tree are always wonderful and at your service. My room was clean, comfortable and very spacious. Our meals were vegetarian and...

Really beautiful place, peaceful and quiet. Breakfast could be better, it used to be better--fresher, more interesting-- but they scaled back to simple prepackaged stuff. Otherwise, very pleasant, could just hang out there all day and relax.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for taking time to share, we appreciate your feedback. The property is so relaxing on these warmer summer days, sitting under the big pepper tree in the shade and listening to the bees is a very special treat. Breakfast is actually all "packaged" by us in a local commercial kitchen to comply with stricter county rules....

The staff are eager to help within the limits of the situation. This is a 'sacred' space in and of itself and has benefit from that alone. There was some clumsy communication mix up that did not relay to us that the tues evening dialogue nor library would be available to us. We would have cancelled had we known that....

Hi Don, Thank you for your honest feedback, I apologize for the errors in communication and not meeting your needs during your stay. This type of feedback is greatly appreciated as it allows us to see where we can improve. County regulations being what they are, we are only able to provide breakfast to guests at this time and we...

I recently stayed at Pepper Tree Retreat and am so happy I stumbled across this gem! I highly recommend this place. The room was comfortable, clean, and beautiful. The food they offer in the morning is top quality! Better than any other place I've stayed as far as it being organic. They had a lot of places on the property...

Immaculately clean, staff is wonderful, no TV. Lavish vegan breakfast. Oranges from trees on the property. Great coffee. Did i say it is quiet? Lots of places to walk around or just sit quietly and read.

My son and I came here as part of a California Coast roadtrip, and really embraced the tranquility that the Pepper Tree Retreat had to offer. My son was able to find the inspiration to continue his writing, while I enjoyed the rest and relaxation among the orange groves and the singing birds after a stay in the LA area....

If you like uniformity, prefer known quantities and tend to choose chain hotels, you probably won't love this place. But if historic places pique your interest, want to immerse in tranquility and get away from cookie-cutter experiences, this beautiful inn is just the place. There is ample comfort: cozy bedding, marvelous landscaping, a soaring library and genuine warmth. The beautiful...

Pepper Tree Retreat is a perfect inn for an Ojai retreat. The property is nested on a quiet country road near but not in the town. Bird song awakens you in the morning. Paths leading out of the gardens into the far reaches of the property invite you outside and into the surrounding vistas. The rooms themselves are kept in...

I have been staying here for years. It is peaceful and has lovely grounds. It is a B&B but they are not allowed to cook there (kitchen not certifiable) so breakfast is brought in and not as terrific as a regular B&B. But the serenity of the setting, the people you meet at breakfast, and the sense of getting away...

Thank you, we are always delighted to have you as our guest. We have done a lot of work at the retreat this past 12 months but have made sure to keep the home's authentic charm. The retreat main house is over 104 years old now and still gracefully welcoming guests through it's doors each day. Looking forward to your...
