The grounds are beautiful. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. The food at the pool snack bar was good and we enjoyed cocktails from there also. Our unit was nice. We were in the 1200 building in an accessible unit that had a roll in shower. No complaints there either. What I think anyone who has mobility problem needs to be aware of is that you really do need a mobility scooter to get around the property. There is no way I would be able to push a wheelchair up the road from our unit to the pool area. It is a hike and as others have noted it’s unfortunate you have to drive simply to get to the pool area. So a mobility scooter is a must if you use a wheelchair or have trouble walking any distance. Luckily we had used Scootaround who delivered and picked up both to/from the property. So prior to arrival and if you need an accessible unit try to find out where you will be in relation to the pool.

Beautiful property/grounds. However, the villas/suites need renovation/updating. Walked into our room, and there were crumbs on the counters. There was someone's used kleenex on the floor in the living room area. The dishwasher was showing signs of wear - rust. The living room remote was missing, and the TV in the queen bedroom was not working. The dish liquid was not in the room. WAS THE SUITE ACTUALLY CLEANED??? The front desk person (male) on Thursday, February 22nd night around8 pmm was rude and condescending. We are titanium members and have stayed at this property once before with a wonderful experience. Too bad this experience was soiled by our above experience. We addressed these issues with the front desk the next day just for the response to be "we're sorry"......

Emailed Director November 2023 (fottouh.elsisi@vacationclub.com) and never heard back. Also tried calling the property numerous times. My husband and I recently stayed at the Newport Coast Villas. My husband did the checkin as we arrived late from a road trip into California. We were tired after a very long drive, but so looking forward to staying at our favorite MVC property on earth. Sadly my husband had a terrible experience with the reception person and I tried to provide this feedback. My husband shared that although the female staff member was competent, she was just rude, unwelcoming and acted as though she was highly inconvenienced. It’s unfortunate that there are individuals who work reception with this kind of disposition especially working in hospitality. I wish I could tell her that she represents a brand and what she brought forward to work that day did not meet hospitality standards at least from a tired arriving guest point of view. Still the most beautiful property to me.

Where to begin! First - the outside of the resort is beautiful! Amazing views and the flowers and plants are very well kept. I'm giving a 2 star for the staff as everyone we came in contact with were excellent. We arrived at 11am after a 2 day stay at the Disneyland hotel via Uber. The woman checking us in was very nice and professional. She said our room wouldn't be ready until around 4-5 pm, but they would text if something came up. We waited and waited. I went to the lobby around 3 asking if we could possibly be checked in early due to we wanted to shower before going to dinner. Poof - our room was ready. Ok fine. Now mind you this resort is HUGE! It's not meant for anyone staying for a couple nights without a car. I knew this going in but didn't realize how big it was. We got to the room -1410. Well I'm not sure why the room took so long because it wasn't cleaned. There was a huge red lipstick kinda smudge all down the bedroom door. I was not happy, but I attempted to clean it myself as we just wanted to get ready for dinner. It still left a decent stain but I text the pictures to the front desk. Upon searching the rest of the rooms, I found lots of stains and smudges. There was a big oily handprint on the toilet seat, mildew on the bottom of the shower doors and pen marks on the coffee table. I took pics of all. I checked the bed and there was black hair under the sheets. I cleaned it up myself as again, we just wanted to relax and go to dinner. The pool bar/restaurant - very expensive. We got an order of chicken fingers, the loaded fries, one beer and a club soda and the bill was 70.00 without tip. Really? We ate there while we waited for our room. The bartenders were very nice though. I find it strange with it being such a massive resort, this is the only food selection, besides the upstairs convenience store. The gym was nice as well at the wet/dry saunas. When we originally arrived, I was walking around checking out the property and saw some huge circus tent In the background. Didn't think about it again till we went to our room at night a different way. Well shockingly enough, it was a huge circus tent covering the entire building 16. I've never seen anything like it in my life. Upon further research, the entire building was covered due to pest fumigation. Disgusting. It looked like something out of a horror movie. Signs everywhere indicating fumigation, poison, ext. So why would you put guests over in this area? We were a building over in 14. The next day we walked by again and they were removing everything and opening it back up. I had no words. I got a sore throat that night and have been congested since. Check out it at 10 am. The earliest I've ever had to check out somewhere, but ok. Well mind you we had to check out when the "Pineapple Express" storm arrived. We didn't have to head to the airport via Uber till about 12 which is no fault of the resort. I politely texted the front desk ( that's how they prefer to communicate) and asked due to the massive storm could we please check out a little later. They said no. They said they are very strict but would give us access to the pool. Um hello.. it's pouring out with massive winds. I said no, could we please request a golf cart to take us to the lobby then since we couldn't walk due to the rain. They said they would at 10 am per my request. We waited outside with towels on us to avoid getting drenched before we went to the airport. We waited and waited. Had to go up and down the stairs about 4 times to try to reach the front desk to ask where our ride was. They ended up showing up at 10:15. Not happy. Our main goal in mind was to stay in this area so we could go to the beach and the Crystal cove a couple times, which we did. But I will never stay here again. No

Girlfriends trip, a week at Marriott. Centrally located to enjoy Orange County, even in the winter. Our room was nicely furnished, kitchen was well stocked for making breakfast and lunch in the room. Grounds were lovely, and the views spectacular. Staff was helpful and polite. We weren't too interested in using the pools or hot tubs. But, they were not convenient for us. They'd either involve a drive or a long walk in a wet towel.

Very spacious, roomy, well-equipped 2 bedroom villa with an ocean view.Very courteous well-informed staff. Quick check in and very convenient parking. Bedrooms and bathrooms are well-furnished. Golf course, swimming pool and game room great for families. Moderate walk to the beach. It is about 5 or 6 miles from shopping so you will probably want to get your provisions I suspect.

Overall 4.5 rating, primarily for the beauty of the property and the views. I was told that some buildings have been completely renovated and others refreshed. I had views overlooking a golf course and the ocean which was beautiful. The entire property is beautiful. My room was refreshed and a few negatives which kept it from being a 5 rating. The bed was too soft and caused back pain. Having stayed at probably 50 marriott properties I have never experienced a bed that was this soft. Also, the blackout window shade material was off-gassing causing a foul odor in the bedroom and making it unpleasant while trying to go to sleep. Some fixtures appeared dated and the tub had a consistent drip. I also had a reaction to the shower mounted soap and shampoo dispenser causing an itch. The staff were great. Housekeeping was good. The pool was excellent. The business center was the worst I have seen and was not functional. Overall, I would stay here again for the view alone.

The property is beautiful and the accommodations are lovely. The property had plenty of amenities and activities for both kids and adults. The property’s proximity to Newport Beach, Boalboa and Laguna Beach made it very convenient. My only complaint would be the beds and pillows. Both my daughter and I got NO sleep for the entire 7 days we were there, and my daughter can usually sleep anywhere. All you can feel are the bed springs in your back all night and the pillows are flat as pancakes. Our visit would have been perfect if we had been able to get a restful night’s sleep while there. We will be going home quite tired.

This is has been the most disappointing experience at any MVC property I have ever had. From the moment of check-in, everything has been entirely in-hospitable. When I notified the desk agent we were traveling with a small child (1yr old) he told me I should have called and told them 21 days before my date of arrival--but that he would put me in a "quiet unit." Literally, he did the absolute opposite. We have been in a building UNDER CONSTRUCTION this entire time. All day its banging, sawing, paint fumes, stomping..its terrible. To make matters worse, literally outside of our unit is the housekeeping storage room where someone goes in and out of, slamming doors, with loud walkie talkies and loud conversations from 7am to 10pm all day. Our son was woken up numerous times until we had no choice but to move him and his crib to the master bedroom, but then it became loud because of the noise of saws. When I tried to bring this to the attention of the front desk staff, all of my concerns fell on deaf ears, they simply did not care. Overall, extremely disappointed. Such a shame, huge waste of money and a vacation.

We are staying here for the third year in a row and we always enjoy this place for everything about it - amenities, pools, cleanliness, attentive staff, so many things we love about this place that keep us coming back again and again. We are in Building 5000 this time and are enjoying being close to the fitness center and Canyons pool area and it's a quiet part of the property and we always enjoy staying in this area when we visit. Lovely views of the Pacific Ocean especially at sunset whether from our balcony or from other areas at the property. We enjoyed the live music at the main pool one evening and we sometimes participate in the resort activities which can be fun. The whole place does a lot to make its guests comfortable and feel welcome. One glitch i encountered yesterday - there was a couple at the Canyons pool area with two small dogs in a baby stroller. I called the front desk to report this because I have severe pet allergies and this property is supposed to be pet free, which is why we choose it. The front desk sent a security person to investigate and the husband in the couple came over to me and told me he has a medical condition and the dogs were supposedly ADA service animals. I'm not sure they were telling the truth because i know what service dogs look like, but nonetheless I very much appreciated the attentiveness to my report and sending someone to investigate. This property does very well at customer service which I always appreciate.
