This hotel was great! The hotels theme of Cowboy History is displayed throughout the hotel through photos, paintings, furniture and visuals. Attention to detail is everywhere from the brightly colored outside of the hotel to the rooms which are spotless, well appointed, contemporary. The location offered easy walking access to many locations for dining, drinks and entertainment.The best part is coffee and juice. It was nice touch!!!! The hotel provides 24/7 access to coffee drinks and cold juices in the lobby as well as a very nice outdoor bar and grill for guests in the evening. Parking was included and offers very easy access to all rooms and the staff was courteous, prompt and very helpful with recommendations. All in all this hotel was a 10+ and we will be coming back soon...

Our stay at the Lexxen Newhall was excellent! Every piece of this hotel seems to be custom made to fit their cowboy history theme and the location is close to dining, entertainment and fun! Fresh coffee and juices greet you in the morning and a very nice bar is available for guests at night! Rooms are spotless and extremely well detailed and comfy, particularly for such an affordable price! The staff was very nice, polite and helpful as well. We are definitely going to be staying here again.! A 10+ for our stay!

So this year’s mega trip to LA (a first for me) included staying at a number of hotels (as we like to hotel hop) that we have never stayed in before. I spend the 3 week trip with my brother staying in mostly double rooms. The first couple of night we stayed in the Hotel Lexen, which is Newhall. It was perfect for us a we were planning on visiting Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is 12 minutes or 6 miles away by car.
Location The hotel is located on out skirts of Newhall, about a 5 minute walk to the Main street of the town. The hotel is on a busy cross roads and there is a train track about 20 meters from the hotel. The trains can be noisy but they only come through once an hour and we didn't notice them after around 10pm. The hotel has a car park which is to the left of the entrance, you need to watch out for the4 turning if you are coming off the I4 as you will see the hotel but not the road until the last minute. There is a petrol station around ¼ of a mile away and a Starbuck just down the road (if that what you need to wake yourself up in the mornings).
TIP – Take a picture of your number plate (if you hire a car or have no idea what it is, its needed on check in).
Check-in Check-in is a lovely experience, nice and fast, there is free coffee and juice in reception for you to help yourself to. Please note that as of January 2021 there is a $130 hold put on your credit card as a deposit.
Room Rooms are amazing, cant really say to much more. We spent two days there and didn't have any trouble getting to sleep.
Food Court There isn't really one, I think you can get a small breakfast in the mornings from reception, but we were always gone before this was available.
Bar There is a small bar on the first floor, it opens from Tuesday to Sundays and while it “says” it shuts at 11pm, it didn't really as long as you were buying drinks.
Pool No pool onsite
Grounds Nice and clean, but its a hotel not a resort.
Problems There isn't a lot of car parking space, might be an issue in high season, but as we went in January it was fine for us.
Finally thoughts Would we come again, YES we would and we have already booked up for January 2023. If you want to visit Six Flags and be a little away from the park then this is perfect. We also used it for a base to visit some filming location from Star Trek and Westworld.

We like this hotel because it is 30 miles from Dodger Stadium. It also has many restaurants and small mini marts within walking distance. The staff of the hotel are always friendly and courteous with their smiles and greetings. They actually engage in conversation and will recommend a local favorite restaurant. Their rooms are always fresh smelling, the cleaning staff are very friendly as well. Rooms are spacious and have laminate wood floors.

First time ever staying at this hotel, and wow, I loved my experience. Hotel was very modern and felt brand new. Room was spacious and comfortable with a nice refrigerator and outdoor window views. Breakfast is served 6:30-10:00 daily. Danish, croissants, toast, yogurt, cereal, bagels, coffee machine (with options for cappuccino, espresso, etc), juices (OJ and apple), milk. The neighborhood was really nice, felt very safe walking around at nighttime, and all of the streets were lit up with Christmas lights which provided great ambiance. The workout area was nice with enough machines for me to get in a good exercise. The laundry area has a full size washer and dryer, and although I did not need to use it, when I looked at the machines it appears that they are free to use. I did not see any coin operated slides for them. Parking was a bit of a concern. Parking area was normally completely full of cars, and I never had a problem parking my car, but if you get there later in the evening, you may find no open spaces. But there is an outdoors parking lot right next to the hotel. Really loved this hotel and highly recommend it. I will be staying here for sure on my next visit.

This hotel had a feel of a 2 star hotel as you walk in. However, it is very impressive not only because it's only about one year new but also the room is chic, very spacious with ample dressers and storages and the bed is very high quality, luxuriant, and so so warm and comfortable! My favorite part, however, is the bathroom. Big enough, granite, and most importantly, its a stand alone shower ( no tub) and all fancy tiled and very roomy. The room, the hotel decor throughout, and the cleanliness of the hotel was the best part of my stay. The entire check-in experience, however, was very frustrating and aggravating. There was no one at the reception for about 15 minutes. I called out and looked everywhere with no success. When she (Liz) finally showed up she didn't even say hi or apologized for her absence. She simply asked in a very low and disappointed tone "checking in?" She did not smile or even tell me that there is no coffee machine in the rooms and that there is breakfast. I found out in the morning when I asked if there was a place near by to get coffee and then Liz pointed (cause I couldn't hear her) to a coffee vending machine that's available all day for guests. Still she didn't tell me about breakfast. I saw food in the very small dining area with a chalk board stating free breakfast. Additionally, I requested the highest floor and did not get it when clearly they are not fully booked based on the parking garage ($3.00 and covered) and I did not see but 4 people during my 2 day stay. On my second day I went to front desk to ask for late check out and there was a lady checking in apparently she has been waiting a while. Then we both waited another 10 minutes and the new guest at this point was extremely irritated and she too was looking around and I knocked in the office, looked in the laundry room and beyond. Finally, she came down from the elevator and the new guest asked in a peeved voice "where have you been?" Again, this receptionist (Liz) did not apologized nor even fazed that she has kept the guest waiting. Liz, however, did give more information to her than she did to me such as breakfast, and other info which I could not hear too clearly as again Liz's voice is too low. I realized there's shortage of applicants but please train your employees properly or at least with the basic customer service etiquette. Very nice, modern hotel. High end finishes throughout the facility. In fact so modern the shower took a few tries to figure out. Lights in our room are on motion detectors that turn off the lights if you’re sitting still for too long. There is a nice bar on the 2nd floor open in the evening. A big plus for us was that the entire property is smoke free. Within walking distance to the Newhall historic downtown area includes places to have dinner. Hotel staff recommended 3, we chose to eat at Smokehouse on Main and it was very good. Breakfast is continental with cereal, things you can toast or microwave, fruit. We enjoyed our stay!!

Would highly recommend this hotel's location in Newhall to those who like to walk short distances to find quaint little shops, restaurants, wine bars, brew pubs flanking a few main streets. Sidewalks with stars of Hollywood movie cowboys/cowgirls. As well as walking a short distance to sites such as the Hart Ranch nearby. Friendly service from the beginning to the end of our stay. Well light, easy access to free parking garage with doors opening into the main lobby felt safe each and every evening returning to hotel. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Would have loved a coffee maker in the room; however, coffee available every morning in the lobby to take back to room. Only one small caution - if you are a light sleeper - do take the staff up on the earplugs they supply for there are a few trains which run intermittently throughout the night. From this hotel location, it was a very short car ride to numerous attractions: Six Flags, Placerita nature canyon, to Valencia attractions, to Ojai winery, to Thousand Oaks. Appreciated the quirky western themed decor.

Centrally located in the historic 19th century village of Newhall (now incorporated into Santa Clarita) The Lexen is efficient and customer friendly. The rooms are well appointed and the beds/linens top of the line. The only drawback is that breakfast is unnecessarily Covid-cautious severe. The very limited "white bread, butter & sugary" offerings should be replaced with equally Covid-safe high quality self-serve options. The added hotel expense would be negligible Even in a time of crisis maintaining quality is important within the norms of the moment..

Hotel is nice, room was spacious and quiet. Had cousins next door looking to interrupt adult fun but couldn’t hear anything.) Room lacked enough closet and clothes drawer space. Lived out of my suitcase. Baths were large, shower was medium warm (I like HOT showers). Railroad road side rooms had street noise so light sleepers or people with kids beware. Good outdoor lounging options. Didn’t get to experience the bar during my stay. Front desk was helpful. Continental breakfast was satisfactory, could use more hot items, IMHO. Location offered walkable local shops and restaurants!
