Walking into my room it looks like a five-star hotel almost brand new nice tile floors and and the bathroom was the same very very nice. I was on the second floor and there's not a lot of rooms above on the third floor but unfortunately I was right under the outdoor bar and the ceiling creaked when the bartender was changing the taps or loading ice. Still I'll be back and skip this room.
So this year’s mega trip to LA (a first for me) included staying at a number of hotels (as we like to hotel hop) that we have never stayed in before. I spend the 3 week trip with my brother staying in mostly double rooms. The first couple of night we stayed in the Hotel Lexen, which is Newhall. It was perfect for us a we were planning on visiting Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is 12 minutes or 6 miles away by car. Location The hotel is located on out skirts of Newhall, about a 5 minute walk to the Main street of the town. The hotel is on a busy cross roads and there is a train track about 20 meters from the hotel. The trains can be noisy but they only come through once an hour and we didn't notice them after around 10pm. The hotel has a car park which is to the left of the entrance, you need to watch out for the4 turning if you are coming off the I4 as you will see the hotel but not the road until the last minute. There is a petrol station around ¼ of a mile away and a Starbuck just down the road (if that what you need to wake yourself up in the mornings). TIP – Take a picture of your number plate (if you hire a car or have no idea what it is, its needed on check in). Check-in Check-in is a lovely experience, nice and fast, there is free coffee and juice in reception for you to help yourself to. Please note that as of January 2021 there is a $130 hold put on your credit card as a deposit. Room Rooms are amazing, cant really say to much more. We spent two days there and didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. Food Court There isn't really one, I think you can get a small breakfast in the mornings from reception, but we were always gone before this was available. Bar There is a small bar on the first floor, it opens from Tuesday to Sundays and while it “says” it shuts at 11pm, it didn't really as long as you were buying drinks. Pool No pool onsite Grounds Nice and clean, but its a hotel not a resort. Problems There isn't a lot of car parking space, might be an issue in high season, but as we went in January it was fine for us. Finally thoughts Would we come again, YES we would and we have already booked up for January 2023. If you want to visit Six Flags and be a little away from the park then this is perfect. We also used it for a base to visit some filming location from Star Trek and Westworld.…
The hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bed is comfortable. It is near a railroad and you can hear it passing by late night. It’s not super loud as you would expect. I would compare it to normal street car noise as the hotel seems to be as sound proof as possible. There is a EV charger spot. During my 4 night stay, I was able to charge 2 of the nights. The cost was $0.30 perk KWh which isn’t bad. There is a 4 hour charge sign so please do unplug and share with others. Breakfast was prepackaged items so don’t expect hot cooked bacon or sausages. They do leave the coffee and juice dispenser on all day which is nice. Location is great with plenty of restaurant within walking distance. Parking is limited so arrive early. I would come back and stay there just for the convenience of the EV charging station. Not too many options around with hotels and charger. …
Very nice room. Great bed. Good location near restaurants And very friendly staff But my eyes and nose could not handle the very very strong fragrance used in the room. Even with air con on high it was overwhelming
Good service, Modern, great location!! We were there for a family wedding across the street and booked and enjoy the penthouse wich consist with 3 very spacious completely private rooms for our family ! We will definitely book again!!
5-star stay relative to price of room. Super clean and spacious rooms, nice amenities for a small boutique, including a bar and light breakfast. Super friendly staff and very convenient to Six Flags. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely little hotel. We checked in fairly late due to delays at immigration but it wasn't a problem for them. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. Really nice toiletries. Downstairs there was a coffee/hot chocolate machine and also free fruit juices as well as a cold water machine. This was perfect for filling up our water bottles before going out for the day. In addition, there was a free breakfast every day of toast, porridge, fruit, pastries and various cereals which was a really nice touch. The hotel is near a train line which I could hear in the evening if I listened out but I didn't notice it overnight. Would definitely stay again.
A lovely hotel and rooms - staff are great and the theres a breakfast that is enough to set you up for the day. One downside, for us anyway, was the closeness of railway line with trains honking for the nearby crossing, although only about every 2 hours through the night, the traffic on the main road at the front was also too much for us. Staff were very understanding and managed to move us to the rear of the hotel where our boys room was and was certainly a lot quieter. Venture out the back of the hotel to a lovely street lined with lights and good choice of restaurants. Good undercover parking (free).
The Hotel was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed what I will call downtown Newhall and it was within walking distance. There were many venues along the main street for everyone. Adams the check-in Person earned 5 Stars. The Hotel would have received 5 stars also if it weren't for the parking. Can get a little dicey if you get in late.
I enjoyed my stay immensely! My room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping was very attentive! Continental breakfast was available each morning. Person at the desk was very helpful. Free parking was an added plus!
