A lovely hotel and rooms - staff are great and the theres a breakfast that is enough to set you up for the day. One downside, for us anyway, was the closeness of railway line with trains honking for the nearby crossing, although only about every 2 hours through the night, the traffic on the main road at the front was also too much for us. Staff were very understanding and managed to move us to the rear of the hotel where our boys room was and was certainly a lot quieter. Venture out the back of the hotel to a lovely street lined with lights and good choice of restaurants. Good undercover parking (free).
The Hotel was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed what I will call downtown Newhall and it was within walking distance. There were many venues along the main street for everyone. Adams the check-in Person earned 5 Stars. The Hotel would have received 5 stars also if it weren't for the parking. Can get a little dicey if you get in late.
I enjoyed my stay immensely! My room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping was very attentive! Continental breakfast was available each morning. Person at the desk was very helpful. Free parking was an added plus!
So it's a quant location across from and ice manufacturing plant and a train track. Personally i didn't have an issue with the noise from the train, i thought that was to be expected and not too bad especially if your room does not face the train track and main road. Staff was friendly especially on first night, and the cleaning service are friendly and do a great job. Room and hotel to me seemed very clean which is always a huge bonus and leads to a higher recommendation. Breakfast was basic Continental, lol basically it was a choice of pre packages muffins and turnovers, toast, and bagels and coffee, tea and juices. The juice machine in lobby is accessible all day. Parking is a huge issue here. Yes, it's nice that it's on lower level outside the office and seemed safe and is covered and included in the price, however... if you are doing anything in the evening you will likely return to no parking spots, in which case you will be told different things on different evenings, one night i was told to double park and leave the key at front desk, next night i was told to park on street as they were "not allowed' to hold keys, apparently you can't use the city owned parking lot behind the hotel either. So, just take it with grain of salt that if you have any evening plans you may have parking fun when you return for the the evening. The room itself was clean as i said and looked nice and decent shower and bath. However, the bathroom has and odd wooden mat in front of shower that is too high for the door so it's hard to open door fully and the wooden floor mat leaves the floor constantly wet if anyone showers. The hotel has incredibly thin walls and you can hear people in other rooms at night and EVERYTHING (wink wink) they are doing so bear this in mind, also the hotel doors banging and people speaking and hotel is renovating a patio area and they started early in the morning. The hotel sometimes runs music early morning through a sound system on the patio balcony area. Another issue in design is they sell rooms with patios, well there is NO privacy on these patios they are in an enclosed "bar" area accessible to all and have low wall around them and no shading during the prime of day, i can see no purpose to this entire area myself and no reason to be able to enjoy it. Honestly had hoped the balconies had faced out of building but there were no pictures of them on the site. So don't stay because you expect the balcony to be enjoyable. I will also say the room comes with a very nice fridge and microwave which both came in handy. Floor is interesting wood floor with these small rubber squares which at first take some getting used to not sure i get the concept but it's interesting. Now, sleeping when you can overcome the noise from inside hotel, one more issue here is the bed itself. The Mattress sloped down on all sides so on edges you don't feel comfortable at all, overall very uncomfortable mattress and bed for a hotel that didn't appear that old, but it's very worn out bed, never was able to sleep well on it and in the end SLEEP is why we really need the room so big disappointment here as well. Overall, not sure i would recommend, though hotel has some good aspects some of the negatives need work if they can be fixed could improve, can't see some design flaws as easy fixes though. I do thank the cleaning staff though for doing a very good job. One last thing, they do leave one robe in the shower for art's sake, but it's a very small size with very scratchy uncomfortable material but it sure look pretty hanging there, i'd just bring your own but admire how nice it looks, same with the cheap single pair of slippers provided which state not to use them in a bathroom on them.…
Very clean and nice hotel. Staff was helpful and courteous. It surpassed my expectations. Garage parking with no additional parking fee. I would definitely stay again for my next visit to the area. I highly recommend to others as well.
Amazing stay here at the Lexen. Staff was super friendly, room was beautiful and very clean. Really great atmosphere over all and we will be back. Would recommend to anyone contemplating staying here!
We stayed in the penthouse for our daughter’s 16th birthday celebration with a group of her best friends. Everything was beautifully kept. There was so much space and the decor was spot on. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Six Flags ❤️
Stress free relaxing stay at Hotel Lexan. Visiting family in surrounding area we stayed for a week at the hotel . I always felt relaxed and calm when entering the front door of the hotel. Room was excellent, spotless and cleaned every morning of our stay when we were out and about. Always a treat to come back to a clean room especially in the day of Covid when many Hotels have stopped daily housekeeping. parking was never an issue. walking into town to the restaurants was an added plus. Our room was overlooking the terrace so we never heard any outside noises such as train or traffic. Very quiet . I will Definetely stay again when I’m the area.
Hotel was easy to check in to, parking was simple and close by. Family trip to six flags ended with an easy drive and a beautiful and clean hotel. Only downfall was the street outside window was loud.
The hotel is in a great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and very comfortable rooms! We had a wonderful stay, our king room had everything we could have needed during our stay. The gentleman at the front desk was very thoughtful and polite. Would stay again…
