Nice overnight stay with my buddy after a long day of fun adventures. The staff here is nice and very knowledgeable about the place and surrounding areas. The museum was not open so we were not able to see that. They also offered cabins and studios for rent as well. I would stay there again!

Just spent one night at the NQI. I strongly agree with all of the negative comments about this hotel - lumpy mattress, chipped tile, etc... I would like to add that their check-in time is 3:00 PM. We were attending a wedding nearby that started at 4:00 p.m. and needed our room to quickly change into our dressier attire for the wedding. However, our room, along with the rooms of at least four other couples, was not ready. Two other people were attending weddings that afternoon as well and were in the same predicament. I begged the woman at the front desk at 3:30 p.m. for a place to change into our clothes. Their only solution was to finally offer us a bathroom around the corner of the check-in "hut". My husband (who is blind) and I used the bathroom to change into our clothes, which proved to be very challenging because without a chair or any proper place to sit or place one's luggage, it's quite challenging for a visually impaired person. We left immediately after changing and arrived late to the wedding. When we returned at 10:00 p.m. later that night, we were met by a guy on a golf cart who checked us in and asked for an additional $100 deposit (in case of incidentals that we might cause to the room while we stayed there). We checked out before their check-out time of 11:00 a.m. and vowed to NEVER stay at this hotel again. The final disgusting part of our departure from the NQI is that their check-out "hut" smells like stale smoke!

This was the most uncomfortable, lumpy, bouncy mattress I’ve ever slept on. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The place looks like it hit its peak in 1984 with aging and stained wallpaper, faded pastel artwork, and a general tiredness to it. The internet was pretty much useless. In short, not worth the price.

The worst place I ever stayed, the floors were so badly stained, looked like someone changed there oil from a engine, Chair also badly stained had to get bed sheets to cover them . Rm 4 we started out in, we got another room Rm.8 Same floor and chairs mold on the floor, this was at 9PM . Went to take a shower (NO HOT WATER) Checked the room 9 the water line was gone the wall was openly exposed. Found out that all the rooms on the South side had NO HOT WATER Yet they rented them out knowing this. I complained to the management with little concern. I went to the Health Department an showed pictures and they have made contact with them. The management also take cares of the Best Western in Grass Valley. The police knows about this place also, an what they said was not good. My advise DON'T STAY

No towels, no fresh sheets or room cleaning during stay. Even after calling desk, we never got fresh towels. Will NEVER stay there again! Way below our expectations for a quality stay at a hotel. Rooms need attention and customers need responses and service!

The most disgusting hotel I have ever been to. I was literally sick the next day and the manager Hamid Kazemi is a very rude man. He also manages the Best Western in Grass Valley. The room was filthy with a stained chair and broken tile and a dirty bathtub. It smelled so bad, I could not breathe throughout the night and I could not stop coughing and got very sick the next day. The health department should be made aware of this moldy, smelly disgusting hotel. It should be shut down. There is no breakfast as claimed and the internet does not work either. Just a horrible awful experience and I have been to a lot of hotels lately and this is by far the worst of the worst.

Stayed here in 2018 for 111 days while waiting for my home to be finished with construction. I’m back to stay getting out of my home due to snow storm knocking out power Place is about the same, they eliminated a wonderful morning cooked breakfast, place in disarray.

First the good: The grounds are nice and it's a pleasant though long-ish walk into downtown Nevada City. The location is mostly quiet, though the units near the freeway get a little traffic noise, but not terrible. The old rain nearby is rustic and worth having a look at. And Nevada City is fantastic! The bad: I reserved a cabin, which is the first time I did so here and I've not stayed at the NQ in over 5 years.. When I arrived they assigned me a room and gave me the card. The room was nice but later I learned it was a Chalet. 2 floors, nice size. But no WiFI and the front desk didn't seem to care. The thermostat had been set as Max and the ground floor was over 85 deg. The upstairs bedroom was in the 90s. Who does this? I opened all the windows while I unpacked and settled in. A bit more than hour hour later there was a know on my door - another guest had also be assigned my room. Then a few phones calls and after about 40 mins - all while it's getting late - I'm advised that I need to change rooms. Ok, this happens, so I re-packed, go the new keys and changed to the cabin on the very far side of the complex. The Cabin could have been nice. But it fell short in so many ways! First, the room temp was below 50 deg. and the tiny wall heater far too small for the size of the cabin - plus, the advertised gas fireplace doesn't work (and later I was informed than none of them work, despite the webpage statements). For over 2 hours the place was so very cold I had to wear shoes and a jacket! Other problems included: every faucet drips a lot (the kitchen just runs nearly full time). The kitchen sink drained so slowly that it was hard to use in anyway other than to fill a cup with water. The kitchen also has no utensils at all - no pots, pans, silverware, etc. There are functioning 2-burner elec stove top, microwave, and single-cup coffee maker. I also learned later, not stated anywhere, that there are no housekeeping services while staying - no cleaning, no towels, no fresh coffee packs, etc.

I chose this inn because I needed an accommodation for one night in NV City, and most places require a two night stay. The room smelled like smokers had stayed, the coffee pot was covered in dust as well as the packets of sugar/creamer. Handle to microwave was broken off - about 1/3 of it remaining. The toilet had mold around the water line. On the positives, carpet looked new and bed was comfortable. Room was quite large. The inn has numerous rooms and it appears that people live in some of them. Parking is plentiful. Alexander's, an upscale restaurant, is on the property but is a separate business. Bottom line: It was okay to stay one night but if I could have found another hotel, I would have gone there.

This was the worst and most terrible experience I’ve ever had at a place. The cabin was so dirty and run down. I didn’t even want to sit on the couch without putting down a blanket first. The room had a weird smell which I figured out later was from the vomit in the couch. When we notified the staff they took forever to come look and then we’re upset we even complained!! We were in the second cabin on left. Basically the furniture was worse than something you’d find on the street besides the vomit the couch was broken. The fireplace didn’t work and you wouldn’t want to touch anything in the kitchen. We ended up leaving and booking an Airbnb. Thank goodness we were able to find something with no notice. The staff was upset that we called Hotels.com and told them we wanted our money back. The whole experience almost ruined the weekend. I’m amazed that based on reviews we thought this was an ok place!
