We arrived and were greeted by a men. He was very friendly and helpful, directed us to room number 8 and left. We entered the room on the ground floor and both windows couldn't be locked. The door was repaired by a piece of wooden board, the overall look was a poor, sober place, not clean. I felt unsafe and we called the friendly man back telling him about my problem. He would try to get us our money back and we left for a hotel near by booked via last minute hotels.com. We did get our money back after hotels.com made a phone call. So, the problem was solved professionally but people think about the place. Maybe is you are a though city person you'll think what are you talking about but for me, a 52 year old women from the Netherlands was this the first place in 30 trips to the USA where I instantly felt unsafe…
So around Lake Isabella there’s not very many nice hotels/motels unless you go to Kernville... a lot of mom and pop places.. there is not one major chain hotel anywhere in the region ! just recently stayed in one that was just a nightmare is Wofford heights ... so I found this hotel in Mountain Mesa... Lakeview motel...opposite side of the lake ...you know it’s quaint... it is quiet... it is pretty clean... bed was comfortable... sheets and bedding were clean... overall of it facility is fairly kept up.. got a good hot shower...Was an older place but was maintain for the most part ! for just an average clean hotel this is a good spot and I would stay here again... The guy at the counter was a really nice guy too ...pretty cool! No-frills... but if you’re looking for a clean comfortable room this is your place! I will again ,..stay here again and want want to say thank you to the owner - they have a nice little hotel like this in the area! Keep up the good work…
Initial impressions of the Lakeview Motel were good. It is (as desribed) a 'vintage' motel and rather charming. The lady that greeted us was friendly and efficient and within a few minutes we were walking into a small, but perfectly acceptable motel room, with an attached kitchenette equipped with microwave and refrigerator, The room was a little 'tired'. The windows didn't close properly, the decor has seen better days, the tiling and fixtures in the bathroom need work. But, everything was functional and I actually liked the 'laid back' attitude that the room exuded. as my wife and I sat outside and ate dinner at the picnic table outside our room, I was really enjoying the ambience. Unfortunately, this changed when it came to bedtime. After showering, we pulled back the sheets on one of the beds to discover ... POLYESTER SHEETS! Seriously, they had polyester/nylon sheets ... and they were everybit as uncomfortable as you would expect them to be! It was such a shame. For the sake of a few extra bucks to provide good cotton sheets (and a little more energy washing and drying them) they have destroyed the general atmosphere of cool, vintage roadside accomodation. So, I can't recommend the Lakeview Motel. It may be charmingly down-at-heel, but with the 'cheap' bedding supplied, it's not going to be conducive to a good nights sleep. :-(…
This place was a great find. Price was great, room with kitchenette was awesome. Bed was comfortable, all rooms very clean and we'll kept. It was hot during our stay and the AC worked fantastic. No idea why anyone would give a bad review. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking for our boat. Will definitely go back!
I made reservations 6 months in advance for 3 rooms. They called me 5 or 6 days before our stay to make a change they needed. When we got there they had canceled all 3 rooms. I wouldn't stay there ever
We stopped here on our way to Vegas from Sequioa NP and it was the perfect place for an overnight stopover. The rooms were basic but clean with good AC and fridge, coffee maker etc. Friendly owners made check in/out easy and it allowed a wonderful view over Lake Isabella. I'd reccommend heading to the mexican place along the road for dinner- it was fantastic.
This was a really nice place to stay! The woman at the reception was so friendly, the check in was really quick and the room was safe. Also, there was coffee and a little snack in the room and the benches and the parking lots were decorated in such a cute way! The room was big enough and very clean. Nearby, there is an incredible Lake where you can spend a nice evening at. A perfect place for a stop-over after a long car ride!
Checking in was easy, the women at the desk was very friendly and so was the cat in the office, I needed that cats love after a stressful day lost in the mountains haha.. the outdoor lights and picnic tables were super cute and hip.. our room was outdated but didn’t effect our stay at all.. it was cute.. bates motel vibe but no complaints.. had usb outlets, a cute kitchen and nice sized bathroom.. restaurants and stores near by too.
We stayed here after a big day driving through Death Valley. It is an older hotel and the rooms are small, however it could be improved with not much effort. The room we stayed had a kitchenette that included a stove, fridge but no saucepans, plates or cutlery so you could not cook anything. Why have a stove if there is nothing supplied that enables you to use it? A few basic pots, pans, plates and cutlery would greatly improve it. The air conditioner cooled the room but was noisy. In summary, it was clean, the motel was cute and staying for one night on the way through to the next destination was just okay.
We stayed there on the way north just for one night. That was alright. Our bed was comfortable, the shower worked and the internet was working well. The owner mentioned we could use the microwave but not the oven. We got something to eat and when we got back there were no cuttleries nor plates to be found. I asked him if he could borrow us at least cuttleries and he told me, that this is not his Problem and he isn't responsible in providing those. So why providing a kitchen without this and making us buy food we can't eat coz there is no fascility for that? We then actually got plastic forks and spoons. When I got up from the table after breakfast in the morning I got caught on a sharp metal corner of the table and tore my newly bought trousers. - This really sucks. At least we are thankful about the advise to drive up north throughout those lovely national parks which the owner Lady showed us in a map. They seem to just do the necessities and not bothering much about the guest and that things work. There is no breakfast included.…
