This hotel was able to accommodate our request for a roll-away bed, which was what we needed. The queen beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is perfect: sink is outside of the shower/toilet room. There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning (only a heater), so the room gets stuffy unless you leave the window open (which lets in outside sound, too). This did not bother us at all. We all slept comfortably. We were in a downstairs "balcony room", which doesn't get a great view of the Rock, just partial view. If you want a view, request a balcony room in the upper floor (but you will have to carry all your luggage up stairs). There was minor thumping from the upstairs room, only occasionally, and it never bothered us. The sound insulation is pretty good. The breakfast is not that great, but they do have a waffle maker, which can be fun for kids. The only yogurt they have is "Trix" yogurt. I presume this is for kids...neon colored, sugary... However, there is some fresh fruit, cereals, milk, juice, assorted rolls, and chocolate muffins (for the kids, I guess). This is sufficient fuel to get going in the morning. The mini-fridge is very mini. The microwave and fridge are in the closet. Strange, but they work. There is a pretty cool hot tub room to relax in, but this is not really that important to me to have on trips. All-in-all, this is a good, clean, hotel, that had everything we needed for our short stay in Morro Bay.…
Perfect stay. Friendly staff. Clean as a pin. Large, comfy room. Good breakfast. Great location. I’ve stayed in many “non-corporate “ places over the years and the Masterpiece has to be in the top three all time. Thanks for having us.
Great hotel. Clean, large room. We could see Morro Rock from balcony. Complimentary wine hour was kind of nice. Walked down to marina for dinner. Spa was great once the kids left. It’s not a pool but parents allow their kids to splash round in there like it is (I guess I would too). Daughter used fitness room and it was nice she said. I honestly was very impressed with this hotel. Breakfast was great, good coffee.
We really enjoy staying at the Masterpiece. Very clean rooms. The bed is comfortable too. They've remodeled the room and everything is very nice. I do wish there were USB charging ports on the lamps. They serve wine at 5. Before covid the served cheese and crackers but not any more. Wine is still a nice touch. Breakfast they have a few waffle machines to make 🧇 waffles. Also hard boiled eggs, cereal and yogurt. If your diabetic nothing much to eat. But it's nice for those that can eat those things. They have a wonderful hot tub. This is one main reason we stay here. I highly recommend staying here.
I had a wonderful stay at the Masterpiece Hotel this past weekend. The rooms are decorated with very beautiful artwork. It is a quaint and artsy hotel. They have complimentary coffee and breakfast snacks daily in the lobby beginning at about 7:30. The hotel says it begins at 7 am and it doesn’t. It was 7:30 at the soonest. FYI. They also have a wine happy hour every evening from 5-6pm in the lobby, a nice touch. I had a king room and it was spacious, the bed was comfy, good shower pressure and it was clean. There was a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The hotel was so quiet, I didn’t hear other guests or any street noise at all. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Masterpiece Hotel. It was truly a delight.
We've been here various times over the years and just went again recently. It's a nice mid-level hotel with good rooms, good service, a great hot tub, complimentary breakfast in the morning, complimentary wine between 5 & 6 PM, and some complimentary snacks throughout the day. I'm happy here.
Stayed here on a Wednesday and Thursday night. It is close to the highway and a few blocks off from the pier and restaurants. I upgraded to a top floor room that was large, clean, and quiet with a fireplace. I used the gym and laundry while I was there and everything was in working order. The front staff was friendly. The parking lot is a little small, but that is typical for CA and I drive a large truck. All in all worked out great and I would definitely book here again.
I took my family to Masterpiece hotel and ended up paying $247 for a room with non working heater. Woke up to damp cold room. Felt like camping. To make matters worse Amy at front desk in the morning was rude and wouldn’t allow me to speak with manager.
Quiet and well-maintained, this is a very comfortable place to stay. We stayed during the covid 19 crisis and were confident in the cleanliness and extra measures by staff. Amber was especially accommodating and we will stay there again!
Really like this place, location great and got a great winter rate. Wanted fireplace, jacuzzi, king bed and patio. Close to everything. Room was very clean and everything works. Great staff. Coffee pot in room. Breakfast good. I also had a glass of wine and cheese/crackers on arrival in lobby. We walked to dinner 3 minute walk. Parking was adequate. Definitely will stay again and recommend to friends.
