Not recommended. This hotel has substantially gone downhill since my last pre-Covid (multiple) visits. Hot water is very, very slow to come. Room was NOT cleaned and made up one day. Dry rot on the balcony rail. Laptop internet very difficult to access (You need to call tech support). Cold breakfast food that was supposed to be hot. Cracks in the bathroom tile. As of 1/10 - they will service the room only on your third day, due to covid. Worst of all, an indifferent and nonresponsive manager who didn't even have the courtesy to reply to an email, and the cavalier attitude of the front desk clerk at check out (I have names but will not post publicly). Spend your hard earned dollars at a hotel that actually appreciates and wants to earn your business. The only one that seemed to care was Julio at check-in, who had stellar customer service. Details ... I spent four days (1/7 - 1/10), room 207, at the Baymont by Wyndem, Monterey Park. I used to stay at this hotel two times a year, for multiple days pre-covid, so I have multiple benchmarks to provide against my most recent stay. Not only did I document all my issues in an email, offer to meet with the manager at specific times and dates at breakfast, AND voiced my concerns upon checkout, and received an indifferent or nonresponse. That is what bothers me the most. Go elsewhere to a hotel that provides the service and room you expect. I did not even get a receipt for my stay. When I said I will post my review, the front desk clerk was indifferent at best Every third day room cleaning. The day I checked out (1/10), there was a sign on the elevator that said, "Due to Covid rooms will be serviced on the third day of your stay with us. If you want your room serviced more often - Please inform the front desk". So if you don't want dirty towels and unmade / clean sheets after paying for a serviced room, you have to ask. I have pictures of both the sign and rotted wood balcony. I am going back to LA in June, but for the first time in years of constant patronage to the Baymont Wyndem, Monterey Park, never again. I hope you fare better.…
I was looking for something cheap and near my work site and I was surprisingly shocked once I walked into this hotel, a Diamond. Walking the hallway I was waiting for 2 little girls on tricycles to ride by, however once in the room, it was so comfortable. The room was clean, comfy and private. I had a nice balcony that allowed the crisp morning air to come into the room which was refreshing after a hot morning shower. The continental breakfast was really good. most places I have visited have powdered eggs and cardboard bacon. the breakfast here though, had waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, REAL eggs, bacon, sausage, some killer country potatoes with cheese....and much much more. I will definitely be back, when ever i am in the area
The front desk person was a nice guy and attempted accommodate us after we discovered untrained dirty water in the tub and an unclean toilet (pubic hair and golden urine stains). THE room was not cleaned prior to our arrival (2100 hours). Needless to say, we had to hunt down a reputable hotel in LA on a Friday night. Very very very disappointing Wyndham 😳👎🏾🤬
Great place to stay. Friendly staff, Breakfast buffet, underground parking. Clean inside. not too far from the city. I had a issue with the room and staff was very supportive and gave me a different room. I would recommend it.
I picked this Wyndham hotel from YELP on our halfway home from Phoenix, Arizona. The hotel offer a FULL Breakfast and had descent reviews. On arrival, many men hanging around outside. Prostitutes? I asked the receptionist if I could leave items in the car. He said he would NOT recommend leaving anything in the car! Shame on Wyndham for supporting this trashy hotel!
I was only here for a night for an event that I was attending, but this was a wonderful place to stay. It's incredibly convenient, being right next to a gas station and just off the highway -- easy to refuel (grab a soda for your room) and get back on the road when you're ready to go. The parking situation was really good, they have two levels of underground parking. For LA, that's a luxury. The breakfast in the morning was actually very tasty, hot eggs, sausage patties, spiced potatoes, and plenty of carby options. The room was clean, well kept, and I had an adorable towel doggie on the counter. All in all, you will very much enjoy this hotel. I'll probably be staying here again next time I need a place to stay in LA.
Hotel smells bad. Smokes all over the bedsheets and walk. Indoor and outdoor parking garage smells. Very old hotel for $160/night. Need a major revamp. Service was decent but most likely will not stay here again.
I'm caught with surprise with the hotel itself. The staff are friendly & helpful. They were willing to answer your query & go beyond it. Room are decent in size & well decor. Maybe some furniture need some update. The hot breakfast is the thing not to miss. Simple but satisfy Overall, I'm happy with the hotel & it value for money.
We had a nice stay here during a quick trip to Southern California. Friendly staff. Nice complimentary breakfast. Exercise room was nice. Room was quiet, even though it is close to a freeway. Room was also very clean. My only negative comment would be that there was no sign out from which made it challenging to find at first.
Rooms were big. Friendly staff. A clean hotel. It's a far place if you want to go to Hollywood or universal studios. Great neighborhood too. Housekeeping is every day. There's a fridge too. I really don't have any complaints about this hotel but just that you can hear the foot steps above your room. That's it. And one more thing the mattresses are uneven. I couldn't sleep on that. It might have been the only one I slept on, but who knows.
