We got this hotel through Hotwire and it was guaranteed to be a nice hotel. It wasn't. It was very old and not updated. Limited parking and the hotel is on a very noisy street (especially at night). I was ill and had to go...More

Thank you for your review. We apologize you we did not meet your expectations. That is not the normal experience our guests have. We hope you are feeling better.
This is about the cleanest place we have stayed in ages. Immaculate. Old but well kept up. Wi Fi works but possibly corrupted as my virus catchers wouldn't let me on. Maybe it was me? Breakfast o.k. - usual Costco muffins, waffles. Not enough parking...More

We (jana, Fiona, Jutta and Dirk) enjoyed our stay at The Stevenson very much. Our rooms were large and comfortable. From the hotel it is only a very short way to the pier with the restaurants, shops, seals, sea-otters and whale-warching-boats. The staff was very...More

Thank you for a wonderful 5 Star Review. You enjoyed your stay, our staff, our large and comfortable rooms and our location. See you again sometime soon in Monterey.
Great parking space. Whenever the top level is full they have underground parking. It might prefer small cars. It is noisy during the day as the traffic is nearby and the door isn't well shut. You wouldn't think Monterey, CA was so busy.

The shuttle service is just 2 blocks west of the motel (maps are available at the motel FREE/ and desk clerk can direct you) at the (transit center plaza) (Always FREE) from June thru August everyday ! Starting after Labor day to Memorial weekend shuttle only runs on WEEKENDS (this is the winter season schedule). And yes it goes to the Wharf first then makes several stops along canary row before last stop at the Aquarium. Then it loops back on same route again continuous ! Good luck and have nice trip !

Don't recall if the bedroom windows opened or if they used air fresheners.. there are no windows in the bathroom. There is a large 24 hour gas station outside the hotel so I would imagine some pollution!
