We loved the beautiful room with the fireplace. It was walking distance to the restaurants. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. We forgot a wind bottle opener and they brought us one with two very nice wind glasses. We will be back again!
Lovely clean hotel, spectacular views, and wonderful staff. From our balcony, we could see the otters playing in the ocean. The hotel supplies binoculars. Breakfast served right to your room. A nice beach next door. What more could you ask for!
We stayed 2 days in Sept. Made reservation with the the hotel, they were very helpful, found us a view room. Check web site for specials before calling and ask for top floor. Our room was ready as requested, very clean with great views. This hotel is a good location to walk to the aquarium and enjoy cannery row. Will stay again
Pros: - ocean views - cheapest hotel option for an ocean view - large bathroom - very comfy bed - delicious muffins - close to Fisherman’s wharf and cannery row Cons: - old building, you can hear every footstep above you, every door close, and all hallway noise - old building, also meaning that the bathroom ceiling above the shower had a hole and looked like it was falling apart. Bathtub was in poor shape too. - no fan in the bathroom, so it gets muggy and smells will linger… - harbor view: beautiful view but alot of street noise. Tips: call and ask for a room on the top floor so no one is above you. Also ask for a room furthest from the street
The check in was normal. Front desk could be a bit more pleasant and welcoming. We booked a night on 10/23/22. The room with harbor view was good. The room seems a bit old on the carpet. The night is when all the bad reviews comes to play. From loud next door to creeping foot steps above. Which wasn't a big deal till I try to sleep on the extra firm bed. Honestly, it felt like sleeping on a wood table My wife a firm bed sleeper and even she said it was way too firm. I hurt my back by morning and lack of hours of sleep. Then I thought be a great idea turns super bad. I went to try to use the outdoor hot tub. After 20 mins my back had rashes and burnt. I could not believe it! It lasted all day and next day. They need to change out that water or look into what is in it! So yeah, what suppose to be a good night and getaway turns so bad. Not recommending this place and will definitely not booking here again. I called later to talk to the manager and she made it was like all my fault for not talking to them about it right away. I mean, we have kids and have to rush off to go home (traffic, long drive). I felt like she wasn't showing any empathy. She didn't even sound sincere to apologize for what happened to us/me. Would not recommend this place. There are many other hotels and inns. Try another one.…
Spent a week with an ocean view room. Very quiet (if you ignore the sea lions). Walking distance to Monterey's great restaurants and the aquarium. Our pro tip is to join the aquarium as a member and make many shorter visits. The continental breakfast was delivered to the room on a tray at the desired time. Great shower and spa robes. I will stay again.
My husband and I stayed at the Monterey Bay Inn for three nights for our anniversary trip. We are so happy we chose this hotel! I booked an ocean harbor view with balcony, which was perfect. We loved the view of the harbor and the park, and having a balcony. We could hear sea lions barking in the distance. Every morning we were greeted by a beautiful sunrise. We could watch sea birds flying over the harbor, as well as the waves crashing onto the rocks and the beach. Everyone we came into contact with at the hotel was so kind and caring. Best of all, I had mentioned that this was our anniversary trip when I called to book the room. A bottle of wine, chocolates, and a sweet note signed by the staff were waiting in our room when we arrived. I will always treasure that they took the time to do that. I loved the room. The comfortable bed looks out toward the large sliding glass doors, so we could see the view by just sitting up. I also liked the bathroom. The toilet is in a small room separate from the double sinks and the shower. The location couldn’t be better. We walked easily to Old Fisherman’s Wharf, as well as to the aquarium. The beach was right next door. They will deliver a light breakfast to your room at the time that you ask them to. (You fill out a card and leave it outside the door with your choices). A friendly associate brought the breakfast right on time both mornings we asked for the service. We adored this hotel! If we ever come to Monterey again (and we definitely want to) we will absolutely stay here again.…
Good spot fir a night or two. Place is a little dated but a large room, particularly the bathroom. Safe had batteries duct taped in and kept failing so we didn’t use it. George at check in was a 5+. Gave great recommendations for nearby restaurants. Parking under the building. 10 minute walk to the main area.
Lovely, small inn on the edge of everything. Within walking distance to restaurants and aquarium. Room right over the water (seaguls are a bit noisy). Room was nice size and well appointed. Great service. 2 hot tubs very small - one with nice view. Cheers to the crew who helped us celebrate a birthday! Thank you.
Excellent place to stay. Very very nice view from the rooms. The rooms are nicely furnished. The staff is nice and professional. Absolutely nothing to complain here. I remcoment reserving rooms 220 or 320 - these rooms have the best views. A little more expensive but worth.
