I spent four days doing business in Monterey. I thought this property was quite tidy and clean. The best part about the rooms was that they were clean every day. Arjun KC, the manager, has been incredibly helpful with all of the information. To my astonishment, everything was always spotless even though I had asked him to make sure it was before I arrived in the afternoon. I would recommend people to opt for this. I wish they start their full fledged Breakfast service asap.
We got a ocean view room and it was very clean. The beds were SO comfortable. My only complaint was that one of the windows was broken so we had to put our hands behind the screen which was falling off to push the window open. But other than that, it was a great room and we were very satisfied. I do hope that they upgrade the elevator soon. I will continue to stay at this days inn whenever we go back to Monterey.
Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I wish they would leave some water or ice in the room. The coffee machine was missing parts. It was very quiet, too quiet actually. Since the parking lot and the elevator entrance was open to the street, I did not feel secured because people could walk right up to the stairs.
We requested a rollaway bed, which they provided, but with no pillows. When we asked for pillows they said they didn't have any. No pillows. In the entire hotel. Plus, they charged us $20/day for a bed with no pillows. By contrast, the Marriott we stayed at in San Francisco provide a rollaway with pillows and an extra blanket for free. They said there was a grab and go breakfast beginning at 8am. We arrived at 8:15 and the door was locked with nobody around. So much for breakfast plans. The room was okay, but the bathroom has the toilet and tub in one cramped room behind a door. The sink is in an open area with no privacy. Okay if traveling alone, but resulted in privacy issues when traveling with family. The young lady at the front desk could not have cared less about not being able to provide pillows for the bed we were being charged $20/day for. I think asking for a pillow to go with a bed we had to pay for is not an unreasonable request, but she acted like we were asking for the moon. Overall a lousy experience.…
Everything I was hoping for in during my vacation. Clean modern room, with all the amenities expected while making the reservation. Staff was excellent and the property was well taken care of, I had a pleasant stay and if in Monterey once again, I would stay at this property.
With a beautiful ocean view and wonderful location, we will be back soon! The staff was friendly and attentive. There are plenty of activities to enjoy in Monterey for a fun getaway. Days Inn was the perfect place to stay.
When you have to use the ice bucket to get hot water from the sink to the tub to get some sort of hot water, that is bad. I did go to the desk and they sent service guy up and he said that is hot water. Tried to get him to understand that we want hot water like the sink had and he told us nothing he can do.
We booked this last minute. It was very cheap but when we entered the room I was so disappointed. The images on their website are misleading. The room was so small it was laughable. The front desk staff wasn't particularly nice and the "breakfast" was a joke. A tiny bag of food. The room was clean and it's not too far to walk down to the harbour. That said, I wouldn't stay here again.
The room was clean and the beds ok. WiFi did not work. We tried logging in at least 10 times with zero success. Finally tried to call the front desk and the phone didn’t work. We checked the cords and all were plugged in however the phone was dead. The room was noisy. We could here the family on one side of us and the cell phone alarm on the other side. This wouldn’t have been an issue but it was just before midnight.
The Days Inn is a great location and close to Downtown and other Monterey attractions. Our first room was nicely appointed and comfortable and our first night was great. The problems began the next morning when we discovered we did not have hot water. I tried calling the front desk but the phone in our room didn’t work. I walked down to the front desk to report the issue. The office was closed and I had to report the issue using the after-hours phone by the front door. We were moved to another room but experienced a truly hot shower only once during our stay. Typically, you had to run the hot water for 5 to 10 minutes to achieve a warm water shower. Great location but lousy hot water.
