This is an old, slightly "funky" place, well kept up, right on the estuary across from Dennis the Menace Park...I am writing such a good review mostly because it was perfectly suited for our trip with our 3 yr. old grandson...Rooms 100-106 specifically, on the ground floor, are on a small grassy courtyard with the most magnificent old magnolia tree...

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights. We couldn't fault anything about Monterey Bay Lodge. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was very clean, the pool area was lovely, the bed was very comfy and the surrounding area was nice. The free parking outside your room was a bonus too. Monterey is a lovely quiet...

Monterey is great a quite town. The lodge is perfect and super friendly staff. There is a large pool and a hot tub at one end. The rooms are great and a really comfy bed and really good coffee machine. The lodge also offers discounts on many local attractions. Definitely worth a stay.

We stayed at the Monterey bay lodge every summer and it does not disappoint. Always clean and employs friendly, helpful staff and housekeepers. It always a delightful surprise to walk through the main door and see the central courtyard pool. Fun fountain in the pool that sprays a spout of water every couple seconds. Great place to slip away. My...

We stayed in the spa suite with a tub and fireplace. Very quiet, comfy bed, private outdoor sitting area. Outdoor pool and hot tub very relaxing. Across the street from a quaint park and 5 minutes walk to the beach. Enjoyed the on site restaurant all 3 mornings for a fresh, hot, reasonably priced breakfast with great service and reasonable...

Like most travelers, we booked the Monterey Bay Lodge based on TripAdvisor reviews, location and price (in that order). When we first walked through the door of the Monterey Bay Lodge, the person at the concierge counter (who was alone in the lobby) did not immediately look up to greet us. Mind you, the lobby is rather small, and to...

Spent a few days visting friends in Monterey and wanted to stay somewhere affordable. This lodge (enter the rooms from the outside like a motel) was clean and comfortable. Reminded me of the Holiday Inn's we stay at in the 1970's when I traveled with my family as a kid, There is a beautiful park directly across the street where...

We thought we were booked one night in advance of our actual booking & when we showed up & were told we were a day early - even though tell lodge was booked solid the front desk attendant called around...
