Rooms on the balcony, old but very clean and comfortable, love the hotel and Grille. Stayed here before many times, it's always fun. The staff is friendly, bar is rocking and people all know each other, food was superior, more than good.

We stayed here last year but it was a quick trip. We enjoyed our stay so much we wanted to come back and stay a bit longer. The building is "old", it's historic! There are new owners since our last stay and lots of changes are in the works. The staff is very friendly and helpful with helping you plan...

We stayed at the Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill, Ca., for 1-night in early May ($120). The hotel is a 2-story wood-framed heritage structure from California's gold rush era. Everything in the hotel appears authentic, from the floor board to the window trim to the furniture. You enter the hotel into a large room with a table and chairs; the...

Stopped by the saloon in the Hotel Leber for lunch with the family after a day driving around sightseeing. We ordered the spinach dip and burgers... and the food hit the spot. The service was great (we were in for a late lunch though, so there weren't any other patrons :-)). The cheese burgers have a great cheese presentation! We'd...

I loved the historic hotel Leger. My room was clean and cozy. It had a private bath and a fireplace. The staff was extremely friendly and we're ready to help any way possible. The food at the adjoining White Water bar and restaurant was fabulous. It is a old historic hotel. The floors might squeak a little but I think...

We've been going to Leger for many years. Since I know people use reviews as guidelines for determining where to go and stay, it's important to clarify that our rating is high because we really like that this is an older historic hotel. The floors creak as you walk around. There is an effort to make sure the furniture matches...

I found this hotel on Tripadvisor because I was looking for a place close to Valley Springs to where I had some business to attend to. I received two email communications before I left on this trip. One was to tell me that no one would be there after 3:00 pm on the day I arrived. There was Info on...

We had a wonderful dinner with friends! They had quite a choice of southern food as well as other choices. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was not disappointed. We all ordered different dinners and everyone was very happy.

The rooms are worn and less-than-basic, so I would call it 2-star overall for being unusual in its history and location in a tiny former mining town. Don't count on having a hotel staff member in the building overnight, so be forewarned: If you need something--such as a hair dryer (not in the rooms)--be sure to ask the night before....

The hotel is super cute and the decor is true to the gold rush era. To gain access to the veranda you must climb through your bedroom window. Once out there, grab a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset. For dinner, we hopped downstairs to the restaurant and had blood orange martinis (a must!) and flat bread pizza with...
