I am from Merced and was in the area to visit my mom who lives at an assisted living facility on M. Street, which is right down the street from the Bear Creek Inn. I always admired this house when I was growing up. It is a beautiful mansion that has gorgeous grounds and used to have a huge swimming...

This has got to be the most casual, laid back B&B we've ever stayed at. When you book a room, be sure you give them a close approximate time of when you will arrive. If it's after normal check-in time there might not be anyone there. But, if you coordinate with them, they will meet you there, show you around,...

My husband and I spent a restful weekend here during a very difficult time for our family. We stayed in the cottage and enjoyed the respite. The gardens are a lovely oasis in the middle of farm country. Breakfast in the main house was elegant and warm. We spent a leisurely couple of hours in the sun room as well....

Stayed here for one night, and what a wonderful alternative to chain hotels! Lovely setting, the building is so authentic, furnished with unusual antiques. Friendly staff, and very clean room. We stayed in Ra Paula, it was very spacious, and we loved having a private balcony. Comfortable bed, overall very nice!

I was looking for a B+B or different hotel in Merced because the last time we visited our son at UC Merced we stayed at the Courtyard and my husband got no sleep. There was a wedding party on our floor and the hotel was fully booked (Parents' Weekend). Just like freshmen we made the rookie mistake of choosing a...

We've stayed before. This time in the blue room. The rooms are fine, bed comfortable. Had no problem with noise. Breakfast (baked oatmeal) was good and our requested time of 8:55 (they stop at 9) was accepted w/o complaint. This time around tho' the B&B was hard to get a hold of. We had a couple of changes to our...

First two calls to the usual National chain hotels at Hotel Circle in Merced were sold out so we gave this place a shot. It was a little more money, but as it turned out well worth the price. The location is adjacent to Bear Creek which is bordered by a park and bike/walking path, which we enjoyed with a...

We've stayed at the Hooper House on several occasions over the past few years as our son attends UC Merced. We love the ambiance and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We've always found our room very clean and the beds are soft and comfortable. The breakfasts are terrific and something we look forward to. I'm a light sleeper...

We had booked the hooper house for 2 weeks but ended up canceling the last week. Under the hooper house is an apartment of the landlord. That is her home. Between 1-2 AM we were woken up be a loud noise. It was some sort of central air condition system cooling down both the hooper house and the landlords apartment....

This place is well-constructed, classy, old-fashioned, good location, it was very pretty and we had a great time here. The owner was very nice, we had a GREAT breakfast by a great cook, it's dog-friendly, there's lots of space for kids! Our apartment was spacious and clean, with a TV, we had a good night's sleep. Highly recommended for anyone...

“I don't think there is a bad room in the inn. We'll definitely try the main house next time, but the cottage is a real gem.”

“As I said above, the Master Bedroom and the Blue Room and the Buggy House all have porches. The Yellow Room does not. Also the Yellow Room is between the Master and Blue Rooms and when they are both occupied there can be some noise. If you have a baby, please choose the Buggy House as it is completely separate. :-)”

“Blue room has a separate sitting area w/a tv if you have someone that doesn't sleep well. The door between the rooms doesn't have a shade tho.”
