Apparently we stayed during a high demand week in the area. Even so the "discounted" rate of $380+ was too much for a tired room with worn furniture, chipped tile and overly strong air freshener. Although we did not request it we were told this was one of the best rooms. The bed was comfortable and the staff were helpful...

I was impressed by the desk staff and the service and the personal touch and the breakfast and the list goes on. Great location for me as I could walk to the downtown area plus nearby sidewalk cafes and parks.

Lovely comfortable bed (firm mattress).Super king-sized desk, desk swivel chair.Didn't like the coffee being in a plastic jug,so didn't drink it.The orange juice jug was fiddly and spilled and the glasses were too small. The breakfast room is cramped and there wasn't always wholemeal bread, which I'd have liked bio/organic.Yes,this is the cheapest place in the area, but still costs a fortune, like most things...

Menlo Park Inn is an older motel renovated to be convenient, peaceful and welcoming. Best low-flow shower I have ever used. Best shaving/make-up mirror, excellent sleeping environment. You get stoneware plates and bowls for breakfast, which includes hot oatmeal. Thanks to everyone involved with this inn for making it a special place at a reasonable cost.

The most inexpensive lodging in expensive Smenlo Park. Breakfast is served 6:30 to 9 daily; nothing special but beverages are very good. Rooms need better maintenance and housekeeping. The hotel renovated over a year ago and have not finished; for example, the walkways outside the motel doors are unfinished concrete.

I was here for two days on business. Most of my meetings were between San Mateo and Palo Alto. This was a good place to stay although drives to San Mateo actually took longer than I thought. My husband and I just returned to The Menlo Park Inn for the second time. It was just as lovely and welcoming as the first time we were here. But this time they stepped up the breakfast... Picture this: an average motel – clean, adequate service, basic amenities – over which, some time ago, a veneer of urban chic was painted (which they call "sleek, utterly stylish"). Slapped onto this veneer is the "Xperience" – a fabricated storyline about "personalized, all-star service with fun freebies." This personalized Xperience in fact consisted of a small tray on the desk in our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a region renowned for razor-sharp venture capital firms and a generous dose of Stanford-style intellectual innovation, the Menlo Park Inn carves a decidedly unique niche - a sleek, utterly stylish inn that makes all-star service its top priority. Sure, our guests love our easy, under-two-mile access to Palo Alto, but what really makes them smile? We think it's the sweet smell of fresh-baked cookies.
