We stayed in the Kasten cottage. It was really nice because we had our own entrance. We loved the gas fireplace. The room had lots of good light. It was a great short walk to town and to the water. The location is great! The breakfasts were fantastic. Only two small downsides: the bathroom at Kasten is kind of old...

We're so happy to hear that you loved your stay with us in the Kasten Cottage! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the in-room gas fireplace, the fantastic breakfast and that you were able to take advantage of the inn's great location. We do hope you made any staff aware of the noise coming from the fan, as they...

Mendocino is an absolute gem of a town. Small and sleepy, but breathtakingly beautiful. There are no major chain hotels here, only little inns and B&Bs. The Packard House is one of a trio of inns run by the Blue Door Group (the other two being the Blue Door Inn and JD House) that are all interconnected and a few...

We stayed here for a weekend (drove up from SF where we live) along with my parents who were visiting from Brazil and all found it to be very charming -- the staff was exceptionally friendly. We stayed at the Packard House which is very well appointed -- not shabby old decor that you get in a lot of B&B's....

Love to hear that you all enjoyed your stay and had such an authentic experience! Packard House offers our most private stay out of the three properties, (the others being JD House and Blue Door Inn), and we’re always happy to help guests determine which property and experience would be the best fit. We’ll see you soon for another weekend...

The accommodations at Packard house were breathtaking! We stayed at the Kasten Cottage specifically and would not hesitate to make another reservation. With so many amenities and warm service from John and Ruby, we could not have asked for more. The cottage is very roomy and has street access to make unloading/loading easy from your car. The grounds are peaceful...

We knew we were pushing our luck trying to find a B&B with weekend rooms available on a Wednesday, but we are so happy Packard House was what we stumbled upon. Located a few minutes walk from the "main drag" of tiny Mendocino, the house is beautiful and old and has been tastefully renovated on the inside to reflect more...

Delightful place! The owners are very nice. The room (Queen) was large and the bath tub -- you can host Olympic swimming competitions in it! Seriously, it's a deep soaking tub fit for two. The room is quiet, warm, and well furnished, and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is served in the nearby JD house (freshly cooked, lots of...

Spent one night here while passing through. There was no onsite staff. Breakfast is at another B&B a few blocks away. Breakfast is not available until after 9AM. Not good if you are an early riser and/or you need to depart before 9:30 +/-. Steep, tight stairway if you are upstairs. Checkin is at a 3rd location. Staff there was...

Packard House is part of Blue Door Group in Mendocino - 3 small B&Bs within a couple blocks of each other. We offer check-in at one of the inns to streamline the experience and ensure that each guest has contact with our staff. Packard House is our most private of the three options, which many guests enjoy - the beauty...

We stayed with Blue Door twice in July, and both were excellent. John & Ruby are fantastic hosts, and went out of their way to take of us; John, you're the best! First stay, we had two rooms in Packard House which were great. The large, comfortable common area, with dining table and sitting areas, was the perfect spot to...

We love returning guests! Happy to hear that you enjoyed stays at both the Packard House and the JD House (part of the Blue Door Group, along with the Blue Door Inn). We stayed here in May 2016. It was beautiful and relaxing. Our tub's jets didn't work, the shower leaked and the fireplace wasn't working. They did fix our fireplace and shower. However, we never did get to use our jets. The breakfast on Sunday was delicious but on Monday, too many dishes served with walnuts, which we are allergic to....

My husband and I stayed in the Packard house for two nights, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary.
