the city is old, the house is, the rooms are... but hey, this is Mendocino ! It has something, not sure what yet, but whatever... for the price you pay you should expect something !! the breakfast ? well, it was something, out of the usual stuff... but for that price ? the rooms ? Well, they're ancient (we're from...

I stayed in two different rooms (yes, I came back for a second stay in the same week!). Both were clean, comfy and homely, with toiletries and hairdryer provided. There is also a lovely breakfast included. My second room had a balcony and a whirl pool bath! Both rooms had log fires with logs provided. I noticed a previous comment...

Charles is a wonderful host. His breakfasts are really quite inventive and delicious. The victorian house has that old world charm to it. Each room has its own quality of character. The grounds are well maintained. At night this little village is quiet. Altogether a cozy place to stay. You are within walking distance of many fine shops and the...

This place needs a serious overhaul. We had a room on the second floor - southeast corner. The carpeting was old and dirty. We had to keep the window open with a piece of wood. The furnishings are a mish/mash of stuff that looks like it was bought at a garage sale. Very tired looking. Needed to find a plug...

We had a private room that was attached to the main house, giving us lots of privacy. The room had a fire place where all was set up to light a warm fire. The location is great, just steps away from the beach. The absolute highlight however was the breakfast. Absolute gourmet breakfast! The blueberry pancakes were "spiked" with glazed...

The house was built since 1882! The room is small, but acceptable. The internet can be the pain. Located in walkable distance to everything in town. The highlight of staying here was the breakfast! Pecan crusted bacon, cinnamon bread french toast, scrambled eggs were so yummy!

I write this review to let anyone of like mind know that this inn is a jewel in Mendocino. I am also hoping that a few of the many regulars who come up to this - home away from home will write in support of what I have to say; too often we dont give our thanks in this way...

We had two rooms as a family of four. Our four-day stay during August was a delightful trip into the slow life of a former logger village turned bohemian, then hippie, now tourist. The Inn is run with the personal charme of the owner and his staff. The rooms oozed the rich history from the late 1800s and included a...

By far the worst place I have ever stayed in. Our room was small and dingy. No air conditioning or fan but worse-- no screens on the windows either. No hair dryer, no Kleenex, no bedside lamps. TV was from 1990 and no wifi. And most amazing, no cleaning! When we returned to our room after a day in lovely...

It's really funny that our in is the "worst place" you have ever stayed. I would not say you were the worst guest we have ever had just that the type of person you are, conservative, nose in the air, mean and rude from the go, basically an old biddy is typical of the people who don't like our inn....

An absolute fabulous location- just a few blocks down from Main Street and the bluffs. I loved our room (#66) right in the front with a view of that beautiful church across the street and even a little bit of an ocean view. A great place to have a 40th birthday :) Breakfast was delicious. I would have loved the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Great Food, Art, Music and Vibes await you at Didjeridoo. Set just across the road from the ocean bluffs and the oldest Presbyterian church in California our spot in the village is cool. Walk to great eateries and all the local shops or relax and meditate in our beautiful gardens and historic lobby. See local art displayed in our relaxed lobby, break bread with us at our open pot-lucks & drink wine with us :) If you play bring your instruments, music happens here. Didjeridoo is perfect for weddings, reunions, small private parties and any other happenings that need to be in a place of love and beauty. Our rooms are great too! They range from quaint to fancy, some Victorian some simple and zen, all beautiful. We are Mendo people and want your visit to our village to be special and cherished. Peace Please note Didjeridoo is not a place that uptight conservative people will enjoy, in fact they will write bad reviews and hate it like they hate many things in life. Didjeridoo is most enjoyed by cool people looking for a nice stay in a beautiful place in an extremely friendly environment. ... more   less
