It's not often that a valet makes you feel special but they sure did it here. Danny h, Allie and Alex were all such gentlemen and made me feel like a star while I was waiting for my car! Also the hotel just got a remodel and the salmon salad in the restaurant salt was perfection.
Stayed for a week and was very disappointed! The service is terrible (except valet!)…there is absolutely NO service at the pool area. Plan to pay 20 percent service charge on top of already over priced drink and food and then be expected to tip 15-20% more. Two very simple everyday cocktails at the bar was $60. This was after walking in ordering them and walking back out with them. What exactly is the service charge for? We were charged 20 percent service charges for all food and beverage purchases at SALT and the pool bar. Hotel pool area is under loud construction. Front desk will not acknowledge you as you come and go. The absolute worst thing about this property is the food and beverage service. My advice: fire everyone. Literally everyone! Start over. It took more than an hour each time we ordered food at the pool when nobody else was there. Our service at SALT was so bad we ate there once (first night) and never went back. All of the hotels nearby have the same views but much, much nicer staff! We know because we ate at several other properties. Stay somewhere else!…
We are staying for 1 night. My sister is here for 5 days. My brother and father each have a room for 2 nights. Check-in is supposed to be at 4. When I arrived, after checking in, with housekeeping making calls about finding a clean room, it was about 3:53, and I was told that our room wouldn't be available and that we would be called and we could wait at the pool or in the restaurant. When I asked how long it would be (they didn't bother to tell me), I was told, "oh it will be at least 30 minutes," without any apology." My dad, who came a few minutes before me, waited over an hour for his room. I believe it was ready after 5. In the meantime, my brother gave my 91-year old dad his room, so he could settle in. When you are paying 600-something for a room, you don't expect service like this. When the room was finally ready, I said, "I guess you're running late." The almost surly matter-of-fact response was, "No. The check-out is at noon, and they clean the rooms one by one, so it takes until now to get them clean." This was stated as a fact, without any apology. So, I was about to walk off to my room and said, "you should change your check-in to a later time." The employee then said, I'll let the manager know your comment about changing the time." Then, I finally got a "Sorry you had to wait." To add insult to injury, I received an email last night that said something to the effect of"sleep in a few extra hours...extend your check-out time starting at $84..." Well, no wonder they don't have the rooms available on time... they're making more $ by shortening the timeframe for regular paying clients (we get to check in late without any adjustment) so they can increase their revenue. The SALT restaurant staff was generally responsive, although it took about 10 minutes to get the previous customer's food off the table, when we sat down because our rooms weren't ready. We got a marina view room and this morning, we were woken to blasting (and I mean blasting, not just that you could hear it in the distance) pop music from the restaurant downstairs at 7 am. So much for sleeping in (me) and a morning meditation (him), or peacefully enjoying coffee on the balcony with the water view. My husband called 2 times to try to see if they could turn down the music. Finally, just now, 7:23 am, it got turned off. Needless to say, we are not impressed with this hotel. It is one of the worst, or maybe THE worst experience we have had in this price range. My sister, when I told her our room wasn't ready, said (she came a day earlier), "the service isn't the greatest at this hotel, so don't have high expectations. "…
This was the perfect hotel for a relaxing, much needed break. First, the customer service was impeccable. Hee Sung Choi greeted us warmly upon our super late arrival. Hee Sung offered us the very best in customer service, the VERY BEST! He also checked us out when we left. At our request, he extended our check-out time without fee, since we were working on work reports before returning home. (It was supposed to be relaxing, but we also worked.) The room was comfortable, the beds were amazing, and every single person in the hotel was wonderful from the housekeeping staff to the valet parking attendants. The food at SALT was incredible. The scallops were some of the best I've ever had. Even the Field Greens Salad was delicious. I did not originally book the trip, so I didn't know what we would encounter, but Hee Song's introduction and welcome was soo wonderful, that I knew the place could only be great, and it was.…
The best thing about this hotel is the location- nice marina and close to the airport. If this is your only priority then this hotel might be ok for you. However - we did not enjoy our stay. The room was supposed to be available at 4pm we arrived early but the room wasn’t ready until 4.43pm. I think we were actually allocated the worst room in the hotel - possibly because we used Booking.com? The room was small - barely enough room to walk around the bed and nothing like the photos that they show online. We were directly above the valet parking stand so there was constant noise disturbance. The hotel is under going renovation around the pool area which we were not informed of at the time of booking. I think there are other hotels nearby that would have been a better choice. We didn’t really feel valued as guests.…
