I was here for our Australia Marketplace meeting. I cannot say enough about how great my server Estella was during our visit. She is a great asset to the the Westdrift. You don’t find many people like here anymore in my opinion. She is kind, friendly and provides service that is wonderful. She was refilling my beverage without me asking and was bringing me food that was hot and fresh without me asking. Another great thing about Estella is that she was doing more than just her job. She had a smile on her face, carried on a conversation with me and was just an all around great person to make my conference experience that much better. Thank you Estella for being such a great person and making my experience at Westdrift that much better. You are a gem and I hope Westdrift sees that and recognizes that positivity in you. Thank you. I’m very grateful.…
I stayed at this hotel for a business conference and was overall pleased with the stay albeit a short one. Check in was not super seamless as the room was not ready and I couldn't get an idea as to when it would be. Eventually when I checked in I found the room to be quite nice with all the amenities one would need. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious enough. The hotel has a nice lobby with lots of seating space.
We requested a balcony room with a golf course view. Unfortunately, it was right next to the storage room for the maid's carts. We could hear them upstairs as well as next to our room. Rooms have no carpet which seems to be common these days. The redesign of these rooms is lacking any space to put your ice bucket and the coffee machine is on a shelf in the tv stand. I'm sorry but for the price we paid I expect better than a flimsy plastic cup for my beverage. I don't know who decided to design the bathrooms with the toilet, no lid, sticking out of the wall in the middle of the vanity with the sink. What a waste of space, not to mention no privacy. The overhead shower leaked the whole time so the shower was constantly wet and slippery. Towels so thin and great if you want exfoliation. Clerk at check-in acted like it was an inconvenience to check us in and they lack bell staff. There was no bellman when we checked in at valet so we took our luggage rack to the room ourselves. If you advertise being a full service hotel then you need more help to provide that service we are paying to receive. The bartender was the best part of our experience. He took great care of us. This hotel should not be labeled as a "Marriott" since it does not live up to the standards. So disappointing since it was our favorite hotel but will not be back.…
This hotel is VERY OVERRATED, DO NOT PAY THE PRICE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. ROOMS ARE SMALL AND CHEAP. Staff needs more customer service training, some were very rude, like the Belt Hop r-named Manor or something. Did not wear a nametag. I understand why, he is very rude. No manners and very unprofessional. Only somewhat nice thing about this hotel is the lobby. Rooms are not nice. TOWELS FEEL LIKE SANDPAPER-this is for real. Hurt my FACE AND skin. SHOCKED AT THE HOTEL AND THE PRICE. PLEASE GO SOME PLACE ELSE, NOT HERE!!!
This hotel is dated with some renovations, but not at all the caliber I’ve come to expect from other Autograph Collection properties. This was a bit of a disappointment. Check in was smooth, the room was smaller than I’d expect, and the temperature was very difficult to keep consistent. The room became very humid. The walls are paper thin, I could hear everything loud and clear in the hallway and complete conversations from the neighbouring room. There was an issue with the key cards letting me in and out of the parking garage - another couple was having the same issue. This was a bit of an annoyance as there was a line forming wanting to get out of the garage but we were several cars stuck. The bed was comfortable.
I have stayed a number of times at this great hotel. Staff are really friendly, pool area is really nice and quiet. Two negatives which lost one star . No cleaning in the 3 nights we were there not even fresh towels. Our room had the noisiest air con which was a bit of a bummer. All in all I would stay here again. Great location near a small shopping centre.
Westdrift lists itself as a Manhattan Beach hotel. It is kind of....more El Segundo in actuality. It is a far walk to the beach from the hotel but it can be done and there is a path. The hotel highlights: nice property great pool lovely lobby rooms are great/bed comfy 10 minutes from LAX Not a whole lot on the negative side other than nowhere to get food before 7 am. There is a coffee store with muffins but kind of shocked, being so near LAX, with people taking early a.m. flights the restaurant (and room service) doesn't start until 7 am. Each morning I was there, the restaurant had a line of people waiting to be seated. Hint....maybe open, say 6-ish?
Pros: Large hotel right on the golf course, it is close to the malls and some good eating places. The pier and the beach are only a 10 minute drive from the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the food decent. Cons: No complementary water in the room. Also, the fridge in the room had no freezer and I needed to freeze some gel packs to store some prescription medication. The hotel refused to keep the packs in their refrigerator, which was highly inconvenient.
The hotel room was very lovely and clean and quiet. From contracting with Luann Uzler to catering planner Katrina Alaniz was amazing. They worked with our budget and were accommodating and flexible regarding events for our meeting. During the Meeting we were treated and assisted by many attendance from the Captains, Andrew Pinon, Beto Becerra, Elias with the Smile. Also, the Director whom I could not remember his name but would check on us. I have to give a BIG shout out to the two AV people who assisted Chris Ybarra and Co worker who went above and beyond in assisting us with AV. I want to thank them all. If ever you want to work at a place that makes you feel not like only a hotel but meeting up with friends. This is an amazing place to be. I also wanted to give a knod to the meal attendants and those who work at the back end like Juan who assisted with the Yoga Event, Fernando Martinez at the bar and the two wonderful attendance during our meals. I am sorry if I forgotten someone by name. Thank you for an amazing and successful event. Whatever bumps encountered during our stay was resolved and did not overshadow making the meeting a success. I would recommend this location 100%…
I stayed here on two separate occasions over a week and found the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms are great, very clean and location is right where you need to be out of the main hustle and bustle of the airport. I would recommend this for families and business travellers alike.
