Nice rooms, friendly staff, many new options coming coffee place and breakfast soon. Nice location. Very quite atmosphere and relaxing. Close to Malibu pier and town and shops. Lots of amenities available in rooms.

Loved the minimalist-retro hotel! Simple, unique and not your standard run-of-the mill accomodation; this hotel's charm and character make it worth staying here. It is newly renovated and clean. It was nice to be out of L.A. We hiked in Point Mugu State Park nearby with great views of the mountains and ocean. Food was accessible and good of quality....

Stayed here for 1 night last week on the way through. Having been recently renovated the new decor was beautifully done and we were greeted in reception by a very nice girl (can't remember her name!) who was very accommodating with regards to an early check in. The room was a great size, really comfy King bed and beautiful bathroom...

After paying quite a bit of money we were expecting a bit more. The room was new, clean and fancy but not very homely at all. No tea or coffee facilities or television. The first cabin we were put into had only boiling hot water in the shower and after a 20 hour flight you really want a nice shower!...

My boyfriend and I spent 1 night at the newly renovated property and we had a wonderful experience. Our room was clean, pillows were super plush, very stylishly decorated, and the property is in a great location. We spent the most of the evening at Malibu Wines which was only a short uber ride away. We will be back for another...

My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend of 10/1/16. We loved it, something different than your typical hotel. Felt more cozy..."homey".....hipster. The two ladies at the reception desk were so sweet and walked us to our room. The rooms have no AC but open the windows and feel the ocean breeze! I saw some retro fans in some rooms, I'm...

The Malibu Riviera Hotel just recently remodeled and reopened, and WOW! This hotel and done a complete 360 because these rooms were very nice. Everything you need basically a walking distance, nice rooms and great customer service. Gave me an iPhone charger when i forgot mine and the staff is very accommodating. Definitely the best deal for a Malibu hotel!...

The million dollar question is, "When will this jewel open?" I talked to one of the new owners when driving by and they are really giving this place a complete overhaul. It is going to retain the charm, but be a lot cleaner and brighter. Looking forward to see the improvements.

I'd been meaning to write this for ages! Stayed for a night on our road trip in 2015. The dude at reception was awesome and gave great tips for our stay in terms of where to drink and eat, celebrity spot and just hang out. Our room was clean and tidy and did exactly what it said on the tin.

I needed a place just for the night because we were filming on the beach and I wanted a place for my daughter and the crew to chill between the day and the night shots. The room was clean, the lights could use some rewiring, and be ready for no air conditioning. Our room hard a large fan that really...

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
