The hotel experience was good in general. I went for a conference as a group with colleagues. They made a mistake and charged my card and did not fix it for a while even after calls, which affected me financially.

First time in 23 years for a trip with just my wife and I. We stayed 9 nights. Staff was amazing, atmosphere was very upscale but not stiff, and the room/setting/food, well, amazing is an understatement.

Beautiful hotel in downtown LA with magnificent view. New rennovated room and bathroom. Upscale Byredo shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Front desk receptionists and the concierg desk are friendly and helpful. The elevator system is pretty strange. You touch the outside screen with room key to get the designated cart to go up to your room level. You can not do anything once you enter the elevator or tailgate anyone to their cart. The lobby level is grand and beautiful which gives you a view of spanning LA downtown. If it is a clear day, you can even see The Hollywood sign. I would come back. The valet parking is expensive but it is the same rate everywhere else in LA.

We're thrilled that the vast views, reimagined rooms, and quality amenities impressed you. Our team members at the front desk and concierge are delighted to have been of assistance. Regarding our unique elevator system, it's designed with security in mind but we understand it may be unusual at first. We're pleased that our captivating lobby and the visibility of the iconic Hollywood sign captivated you. We can't wait to host you again! Matthias Kaiser Hotel Manager

The worst hotel, they locked me out of my room at 3am because apparently I didn’t pay for room service, we have been here for 1 week and all of a sudden they lock me out with no warning. Worst customer service you need to treat your customers with respect especially when we’re travelling from across the world and spending so much money to be treated like this. Do not come here absolute trash

Stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is nothing like any other intercontinental I have stayed in. Looks more like a average 4 star hotel. Poor service and not many staff, rooms clinical and still in covid mode! Everything stripped out from room including bathrobes. Pool area in in the shade most of the day and It states pool is heated but it’s not at all. It was so cold you could not use it. Breakfast poor, and though you have included breakfast you have to pay gratuities….though it’s a buffet and no service ! Stunning views . The lifts are a nightmare as you have to go up to 70th floor to reception, change loft and then go down to exit the building. Located in a very rough area . The reason it got the second star is due to the lovely lady cleaning club lounge and lobby area. Cried to the hotel. I wont use this again, I would recommend the ritz Carlton !

It's disheartening to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations. We aim to uphold the InterContinental's reputation for elegance and top-tier service, seemingly missed during your stay. We understand there were some concerns around room amenities, pool temperature, and the breakfast service. Your observations regarding our elevators and their operations are also noted. On a brighter note, we're delighted to hear your positive comments about our team member in the club lounge and lobby. We hope to have another opportunity to provide a more satisfying stay in the future. Matthias Kaiser Hotel Manager

First off the place is really nice and has fantastic views of the city. The only complaint I’d have is with the elevators. And also some of the signs. Little things like the signs on the door entering the fitness center. They say push. Nope guess again Pull. Little stuff but it matters. Also, upon checking in we had no clue that the complementary breakfast was included and we ordered an $80 breakfast to the room. That would’ve been OK if they didn’t forget the creamer and the orange juice. But the overall biggest issue is with the elevators. I’ve never in my life seen a more complicated elevator system. I can’t believe Management is not all over this, addressing this issue immediately. Every single elevator trip up or down was filled with people discussing the elevators and how complicated and confusing they were. To make you go up to the seventh floor to go back down to whatever perspective area is also crazy. Especially in the city where they’re pushing going green. It doesn’t necessarily make sense for you to have to go to the 70th floor just to capture a beautiful view to go back down to your room on the floor two. Seems like a waste of energy, but I did appreciate the view. The elevator system is so complicated, I don’t think my grandmother would be able to figure it out if her life depended on it. Sometimes I think things are just over thought and over engineered and this hotel check all those boxes.

Our third time in this Hotel in L.A. Downtown. The hotel is beautiful. This time my room was not the best (we've had better !... with breathtaking views) but still a very nice room: clean, modern, hot tub, corner unit. Great housekeeping service and in general the staff is really nice. Several options for dinner, bars, and a rooftop bar in the hotel. The lobby bar is super cool. The rooftop is amazing! The breakfast buffet is ok. The location is excellent and the area around the hotel has been getting better and better!!!, the hotel is 30 min from the airport, 40 minutes from Long Beach, and within walk distance of many points of interest: Broadway Street has many restaurants or 20 min walking to Walt Disney Concert Hall area. This Hotel is a gem!

This is a very beautiful hotel. I should have done my research b/c I didn't realize the lobby was on the 70th floor!!! I am afraid of heights so this was most unpleasant. The lovely lady who checked me in was able to put me on the lowest floor possible for a room (40th!) However, she put me in an ADA room with no shower. So, I had to call the front desk and they got me a different room. The AC never worked but it did not get hot in the room until my last day - I called and maintenance came up. He didn't have the part to fix the AC so he said they could move me (again). I was leaving bright and early and it had been a very long day so I didn't want the hassle of moving. The room itself was clean, shower pressure great and plenty of clean towels. The pool area was wonderful BUT you have to time the sunshine b/c there are tall buildings that block the sun for large times throughout the day. The gym was also great. There was plenty of security which was great b/c LA has some serious issues with homeless people that clearly have mental issues. I probably wouldn't stay here again simply b/c of the hassle of switching elevators to get to the lower floors and my own fear of heights which precluded me from dining at the restaurant (which I am sure was spectacular). Final thought is that everyone I encountered on staff was very pleasant and helpful.
