The views from this hotel are amazing. Not sure why people complain about the lifts being confusing. Fairly straightforward to use. The hotel offers amazing views of Los Angeles! Had a slight hiccup but Matthias was extremely helpful in getting things sorted. Will definitely be staying here again.
When I made the reservation, I did not know that I will experience the best sunset and sunrise views in the same room, or that going to the gym will feel like visiting a nightclub (I will explain that later!) My Executive suite (#5819) was a corner unit on the 58th floor that boasted unobstructed horizon views in three directions, including the view of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Mountains. The suite was roomy, bright and full of light due to floor-to-ceiling windows. I never closed the curtains because I wanted to continually explore the scenery and point out my favorite LA landmarks, helicopter landings and roof-top swimming pools. The valet service was very efficient. The check-in on the 70th floor was a breeze. The sleek lobby felt upscale with some extravagant interior decor pieces, including leather chairs and bar stools that stood out against the cocktail lounge’s Italian marble. They provided both comfort and style to the space. My suite was impeccably clean and quiet. The king size bed was very comfortable and the concierge service was swift and contactless (I needed a lot of extra Nespresso capsules to stay awake to enjoy all the hotel amenities.) The Attitude fitness center was open 24 hours, and although I am not a gym goer, I went to the fitness center twice and I told myself that I would join the gym immediately if all gyms looked like this one. The lighting was spectacular giving out the trendy night-club vibes and I had a unique experience rather than a mundane workout. In the morning, I decided to check out the pool deck on the 7th floor. The water was nice and warm and I enjoyed swimming in it. I spent my day relaxing while enjoying urban rooftop views, and I felt all the worries and stress dissipate. Who knew I would be sunbathing in December. And, of course, I didn’t want to leave.…
Fifth time stay here in past two years. The condition of facility was kept well and the I think it has the best view in all hotels of downtown LA. Service in front desk was great and polite. Andrew took my check in for all my past three stays and he told me the details in hotels every time. For sure I will still stay here next time and it’s my first priority for hotel in downtown LA
My husband and I are currently staying in this hotel. We are ambassador platinum elite IHG members and use and have used IHG intercontinental hotels for at least the last 15 years. I am disappointed to say this is possibly the worst value for money we have ever experienced. For $400 per night only 1 bathrobe, no mineral water offered on arrival, no upgraded room, we were told we were given an upgrade of a corner suite, I don’t think so! A corner room with a small desk and 2 chairs, definitely not a suite. But the most unbelievable thing about this apparently top hotel is that it gives the paying guest plastic water cups, and paper tea and coffee cups! And when asked at reception for a cup and saucer I would have to pay a house keeping charge!!! Sorry I have had better facility’s in a holiday inn express. Lastly the service we have received has not been great, the hostess at spire 73 were rude and unhelpful, reception staff, unfriendly, altogether not a great experience. Club room closed, no explanation, pool bar closed no explanation. A great shame as we travel a lot and always try and stay loyal to IHG, we would not recommend this hotel and may try another hotel brand in the future…
We ate at the Steakhouse and also at the outside bar. Both had great food and excellent service. The rooms are very nice, modern and clean. The view is excellent with the ability to see all of LA from the open bar on the 73rd floor.
The good - location, views, gym The bad - broken magnifying mirror in bathroom, plastic water glasses that tip over when you put your toothbrush in, mini fridge not operational with no note, welcome note to a previous occupant, no bottled water in room, one clothes hook. The ugly - ridiculous elevator system too difficult to explain here, black mould growing in several locations in the shower - yuck
After going back and forth on various hotels for a planned Los Angeles trip, I found an exceptional deal through InterContinental's website that gave me several nights in an executive suite + breakfast for a great price. It was very last minute, but I was ultimately very glad I chose the property. My room - Executive Suite 6014 - was HUGE and had just about everything I could want for my trip. A huge, plush bed, a Nespresso machine and amazing tea selection, a surprisingly large bathtub and a BIG shower, plus all the room I needed to spread out and relax. The minibar was locked, but I didn't mind as I didn't plan on partaking to begin with. There were minor maintenance issues with the room - chipped drywall around the T.P. holder, sticky substance on an unseen side of the chair, "meh" toiletries - but it exceeded my expectations. The staff at the property, particularly in Housekeeping, was exceptional. One young man (whose name I unfortunately didn't get) ran around collecting a minifridge, a water kettle, and multitudes of extra Nespresso capsules and tea packets. Texting the front desk for amenities and to schedule cleaning worked better than using the phone, and service was always timely. You can't beat the location, and I always felt safe. While I doubt i'll get the same deal I got for this visit, another stay at the InterContinental is certainly on my to-do list. …
Clean. Contemporary. Smells good. All IGH has such lovely smell. Water in room. Good location. Access to a gym on 7th floor which even offers some yoga classes. Nice breakfast area. Decent options for vegans and vegetarians. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat. Be prepared that it takes some time to move from room to ground floor as it entails some switching of elevators.
We've just had a great 4-night stay at the IC LADT. We chose the hotel due to it's location near to the 7th St Metro hub which proved very handy in terms of getting around the various LA suburbs that we wanted to visit. The hotel certainly has the 'wow factor' in terms of the views out over LA. We'd been upgraded (excellent status recognition - thank you) to an amazing corner suite with spectacular views out over the Hollywood hills. The room itself was extremely spacious with clean, modern styling, and all the amenities that you'd expect or need. Great bathroom also. Pool area was also a pleasant place to while away a few hours in the sun - clean with ample sun-beds and towels provided. We eat-out for the duration of our stay so can't comment on any of the restaurants, but the lobby bar was a pleasant space to have a drink at the end of the day and admire the views. All in all, one of the best Intercontinental's that we've stayed in over the years.…
Speechless! We had an executive suite on the 69th floor and were swept away by the spectacular views. Be ready for a full sensory experience starting from Bvlgari fragrance when stepping into the ground floor, follow by the touchscreen elevators bringing you up to the lobby on the 60th floor for check in. Absolutely luxurious bathrooms and bedding, we loved the rooms! Don’t bother staying around sunset drive, we took a Uber there for $8. There is also a nice mall across the street with small shopping and casual dining.
