It's a cool hotel, very stylish but that doesnt make up for the lack of amenities - only plastic cutlery offered at reception, zero cooking facilities The AC didn't work in one of the rooms we booked and they didnt even have a fan. No extractor fan in the bathroom, no soap either Felt like a budget motel in the room Lovely staff, great location but poor value for money

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel was perfect for our family - a 15 minute drive from LAX and walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, as well as the housekeeping team. Our room was very clean and well maintained. Bath products were lovely! The only thing we were disappointed with was that there was no breakfast available at the hotel.

Super cute in concept and decor, lacking in amenities. No breakfast, microwave, bottled water, and terrible in-room coffee with no alternatives in lobby. Nothing really nearby without a car. The interior is a complete maze that's hard to find your way around. It's a fun hotel but not exactly comfortable.

The Kinney was very welcoming and just how I imagined it. The only extra charge we had was the $20 a night in valet parking which was secure in the garage and off the street, no extra costs and taxes as we experienced at a lot of our other places we stayed at. We checked in with no issue, location was good, venue was well maintained. Check out was seamless, the experience overall was good. Bed was very comfy!

We stayed at The Kinney for two nights so we could spend some time in the Venice Beach area. The hotel location was good for the price we paid. Hotels on the boardwalk etc were much more expensive and the beach was only a short walk away. We also easily caught an Uber to Santa Monica one evening. It was also close to LAX which meant we could easily pick up a hire car for the rest of our trip when we had finished in L.A. We booked a suite so that our daughter could stay on the sofa bed in the living area and we could have a separate bedroom. The room was ok, unfortunately it smelt damp which was a bit off putting and once the sofa bed was in use it was a bit cramped, plus the bathroom was really small and the light a bit temperamental but overall it was bearable as it was really just somewhere to sleep and put our stuff. There was a small gym which we used and an absolutely tiny pool, more a plunge pool than a swimming pool as it was actually so small it was impossible to swim in. The staff were pleasant on the hotel had a pretty unique vibe, but overall for us it felt very average. It was good value for the area and allowed us to have a nice few days on the beach both in Venice and Santa Monica, but we wouldn’t necessarily rush back.

The room at the Kinney was so cute and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE! It's great being right around the corner from Abbot Kinney shopping and restaurants and so close to the beach. There's a liquor store right next door with a great wine selection and we got a room in the back which was so quiet. Would totally stay here again. Every other nice hotel in the area starts at $500 and up so this is a great value for the location and quality of the room.

The Kinney is a breath of fresh air: unpretentious and fairly priced in an extremely inflated market. You can self park for $20/night, a steal compared to $50+ at other places nearby. And it's easy to get your car in and out. Practical. The block itself isn't pretty, but it's a near Abbot Kinney with its great shops and a quick drive to Santa Monica. The structure itself is a fading 60s number, but so are so many buildings in the area, and he decor is playful, with good housekeeping standards and nice staff. Comfortable bed. The Kinney takes care and pride and does what it can to be a good place in spite of its humble core. I respect that.

What a great place, beds are so comfy, all the staff are so helpful and really polite. Pool is small but perfect to relax and have a little swim. SPA was heated and very relaxing. Location is abit further then we thought from Venice beach main area but you can jump on a bus easy or we also just hired the metro bikes that were just up 1 block so cheap and can get eletric so makes it really easy! Would 100% recommend staying here away from the hectic city right near the beach and marina del ray!

I feel like I paid too much for what I got. No one at the front desk ever said hi or bye when we walked in or out. There was only 1 elevator. The pool and gym were tiny. We found several bugs in our room. It definitely has potential but we paid a lot and didn’t get a lot.
