I'm always humbled to hear how far folks travel to visit Venice Beach... we're so lucky to be a world-famous vacation destination. I'm so glad you enjoyed the view from our hotel. Any day you get to see the ocean is a good day!

We received a very warm welcome, were offered a cup of coffee and given useful information on some local places to eat (various prices/styles). We booked the Queen Studio (#205) as it was the cheapest option and although it's not advertised as having ocean view (partial or full) we could nonetheless see the ocean from the window, just above next...

Your review was just delightful to see; informative, kind, detailed... exactly the type I hope prospective guests take the time to read whilst researching our family-owned and operated beach property. Cheers!

We stayed here for 2 nights after a long stay in freezing New York. The hotel is right on the beach and is perfect for a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of LA, amongst the street culture and colour of Venice, CA. Would definitely stay here again! Perfect self contained apartment.

The Venice Beach Suites and Hotel is never going to be the best place you have ever stayed in. The rooms which include a kitchen and utensils are a little cramped and thrown together but it you like the vibe in Venice Beach then this is the place to stay - much better than the now pretentious Hotel Erwin where...

This is an important review to read... A lot of people ask about night life in Venice Beach; there isn't much. Sure, you can find some neat bars and restaurants that have a mellow vibe; maybe a bit of live music but there's really no late-night scene. Our coastal community is best enjoyed by waking early and being active by...

The hotel deserves a 4. We'd give the area a 2. That averages out to 3. We found the staff to be very helpful. They even supplied us with beach chairs, umbrella and towels. The hotel itself is what you'd expect from a 100 year old building that has been very well maintained. Great place if you like that sort...

This is a very important review to read if you're on the fence about visiting Venice. Some people can't handle the stark, raw realities of life on the Venice Beach Boardwalk and that's okay, I hope they find what they're looking for elsewhere. I will actively talk someone out of staying with us if I know that this is not...

We've always wanted to stay in venice for our trip to LA but was 50/50 about it based on a lot of reviews. But really glad we did! The boardwalk is filled with characters and there's this street called abbot Kinney road that has a lot of awesome shops and bars. Our room had a mini kitchen which was perfect...

You can't fault the facilities here. You could literally live there. The rooms have a usable kitchen complete with pots and pans, plates, and utensils. Where we stayed, we had views of the boardwalk immediately below us, the beach and ocean as well as a view of the scene all the way to the pier and beyond. The staff is...

Thank you for staying with us again, Robert! You and your family are always welcome! Speaking of... Robert mentioned the size of our rooms. Most are standard-sized studios (350 sq. ft.) but we do have four Ocean Front Studio Suites that not only feature a full view of the beach and Boardwalk but top out at around 500 sq. ft....

We have enjoyed many stays at Venice Beach Suites & Hotel. The room we select is quaint and confortable to us. The staff is friendly and always helpful. We plan many more stays there. The location is ideal for other areas we want to visit in LA.

I wanted to stay on the Venice Beach strip and found this old but beauitful hotel. It surpassed all my expectations! I recommend paying a bit extra to wake up with an ocean view on the top floor. Great staff, amazing views, clean rooms and overall good experience.

Thanks for giving us a go, Magicmange! I'm glad you got a room with a view. For prospective guests, our upper-floor side-view studios not only have a partial view of the beach and are sunnier and breezier, but they also tend to be quieter than our lower-floor non-view studios. FYI.

Being so close to LAX, and after 21 hours of travelling, the perfect tonic. Bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but once arrived, totally unnecessary. Hotel is in a fantastic location, neighbourhood not great when the sun goes down, but in no way is it bad enough that it should deter. Upgraded (free) to an ocean front room,...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
