Have been staying here since 2015. At that time, they had the park and sail room rates. But even now, still better and cheaper to leave your car here, and pay the nominal fee for the shuttle to the pier. They are renovating the property and the room we had was very nice. Didn't eat at the restaurant this time due to having sleeve surgery and can't really eat alot. But I will definitely come back again when I cruise again.
By 2050, there will be more plastic in oceans than fish. Single-use plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles are terrible for the environment and completely unnecessary. I would love to see the Crowne Plaza shift to shampoo and conditioner dispensers in all hotels.
We've stayed two nights pre-cruise, last night and tonight. Our room was ready at 4pm, check-in was a breeze, and the girl at the front desk was super helpful. We're in a "Harbor View Deluxe King" on the 7th floor. The room is clean & quiet, comfortable bed, and a nice view. This hotel is exactly what I hoped it would be. We will be back!
I booked two rooms for my family to stay the night before our cruise. We got to the hotel around 1 which I knew we wouldn’t be able to check in yet so we went to the pool. At about 3:45 I went to see if we could check in. Only one of our rooms was ready. Check in is at 4. The front desk women said it would be 45 more minutes. So we went to the room that was ready and waited. The housekeepers were in no hurry and she was casually talking on her cell phone. Around 4:45 she was finally done. I went to get the keys at the front. I was greeted by a front desk agent who was male with black hair. I believe his name was Armando. He was so extremely rude to me. I was asking why the second room rate was a higher price when they were exactly the same and not the price I was given when I booked. I asked to see an itemized receipt. He very rudely told me there was no receipt or itemized paper work to show me. He just kept telling me they put $100 hold. I told him I wanted to speak with the manager if he couldn’t tell me why it was more. So she called me 30 minutes later to tell me it was more because of parking. Ok why couldn’t he tell me that. That was all i was asking him. I told her he was very rude and we waited almost an hour past our check in for our room. She very coldly apologized. I work in a resort and a little bit of hospitality goes a long way. So we will not ever stay here again. Anything that was good was completely over shadowed by the bad.…
The desk clerk at Check in told us all 10 and 11 O Clock Shuttles to the cruise ship were booked and we had to book at 9 or 8 O Clock. The Cruise ship did not begin boarding until 11am and the seven people in our party were not going to sit on the curb for three hours. We took our rooms and we found the toilet in our room did not flush. The tightening nut was stripped. How this was not identified by housekeeping was beyond me, We decided to have supper in the hotel resturant. The wait staff appeared indifferent and the food was mediocre. The next morning the Bell Captain Jim was on duty and he arranged for additional shuttle trips to the cruise ship and we were able to get on a 10:30 shuttle to the cruise ship. Thank you Jim.
Recently I stayed for 7 days while working in the area. I was required to work midnights at work during my stay so I needed a quiet place to sleep during the day. On the 4th day I found a note slid under my door advising that the hotel would be executing a fire alarm test the next day. I contacted staff at the front desk and told them that this was unacceptable as I was working at night and had to sleep during the day. They promised me that it would be a short test and they could not reschedule it and also advised that the power to the hotel would be turned off for an entire hour the same day. The next day, after working all night I was woke up in my room with a siren, a flashing strobe light a constant prerecorded message that was extremely loud, advising me to open my door so staff could verify if the interior speaker and strobe was working in my room. I then had someone banging on my room door demanding I open it for inspection. This insane test went on for 2 1/2 hours. Needless to say I got very little sleep that day and had a horrible time at work that night trying to stay awake. I stay at hotels all the time with my work and this was the single worst experience I have EVER had. It is unconscionable to expect to rent a room to a paying guest and then perform tests like this !! NEVER EVER EVER will I stay at this hotel again. Any Hotel Manager / Owner that thinks that this is a reasonable way to treat paying guests out of their mind !! Buyer Beware - I did not even mention the day that the Air Conditioner would not work all day and then the next day, after they "fixed it" it would not shut off and I froze all day. The hotel is not maintained very well and has a lot of problems. If you decide to “roll the dice” and book a room, all I have to say is GOOD LUCK !…
The room was fine, everything one needed was taken care of. Clean, great harbor view, and good coffee. However, told around 10:30 am that water would be shut off for emergency works, and I was told by my wife while having breakfast at about 10:45 that I had better get back to the room if I wanted to have a shower. Had to leave half eaten breakfast (which was great by the way) and hightail it to room. Emergency situation occurred following day, which led me to believe that since works were being done in the building that it was construction rather than emergency shutdown. Anyway, we worked around it. What was disappointing though was that hotel couldn't consider paying for breakfast or picking up 3 day parking fee as sign of saying "sorry you had no water," and the brusque and eye-contact-avoiding front desk woman who assisted the very nice front desk guy didn't exactly seem approachable to ask for a compensation. So, very nice property, upgrading well except for water shut offs, good location, but could use a little management empathy regarding quid pro quo for having no water in middle of day for two days in a row.…
We stayed here for 5 nights. Upon arrival reception staff were friendly. They took a look at my passport and took a security deposit from me, which was given back about a week later. This hotel did have free complimentary Wi-Fi. When we arrived there were renovations going on in the middle of the reception area and this did not disrupt our stay in any way, you didn't hear any noise from them at any point. We were given a room on the 5th Floor. The ice machine was not working which was disappointing. There was security on the floor, which we later found out was because of passengers arriving at the port, and not because it was a covid floor which is what a fellow hotel guest said about us in the lift. The room itself was dated, it was nothing like the photos we saw. It was clean, but the curtains/nets did have stains on them. We had two queen beds that were comfy and we managed to get good sleep. The room was on a slight slant, it was like a little hill by the door, which was bizarre. The hotel did have a little shop inside but this wasn't open all the time, which is a shame really because it would have been convenient to go to. The one time we actually went there we got a couple of things and it came up to nearly $7 dollars for a chocolate bar and tub of noodles. You are definitely better going off to the shop just around the corner. I have to give it to the hotel staff though, they were helpful, friendly and if we needed anything they delivered it super quick, you cannot fault them for that. At the end of our stay, we left our luggage with the concierge who gave us a tag. When we came back there was nobody at the desk and the door to where our luggage was, it was open and anybody could have taken them.…
I was very hesitant to stay here due to reviews but glad that we did. The hotel is currently going through a major refresh and it looked as though most public areas including the bar and restaurant areas are now complete as was our hallway. Our room was a Junior Suite on the eighth floor overlooking the port. Perfect view for our pre-cruise stay. The room could use a refresh but most important it was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. We had also read comments that the area surrounding the hotel was "sketchy " but once again we did not find that. Actually just the opposite. The waterfront area near the hotel has undergone a major upgrade, there is a Mexican restaurant next door (Green Onion) that serves good food and great prices. Also, there is a coffee/tea shop across the street. Parking is located behind and below the hotel with an elevator connected to the lobby of the hotel. Parking was $15.00 a night which is inexpensive for a hotel. The one negative was the elevators. It appears that they had been updated but at times when we pushed the call button, it did not work. That should be looked into. This location is across from Los Angeles cruise port in San Pedro. Very convenient if you're going on a cruise. They also offer parking to leave your car if you're going on a cruise. We have decided to stay here again in August for our next cruise…
Stayed here 1 night prior to cruise, very walkable to ship, and many restaurants and shopping nearby Veronica was the best, allowing an early check in after a sleepless night @ LAX, since I had to fly in a day ahead due to bad weather back on east coast. Bathroom was very nicely updated with beautiful granite. Towels & bedding super soft, hot water came up super fast. Will definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area again for sure. Highly recommend.
