With a choice location on Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach, AIR Venice captures the essence of a sophisticated, casual and contemporary beach culture and lifestyle. Surrounded by ocean breezes, panoramic views, seaside dining, shopping, and nightlife, AIR's beautifully renovated and modernized studios—in an historic early 20th-century building—are just steps from powdery sand and refreshing surf.

Air Venice is an amazing and quaint hotel on the boardwalk in Venice. This was our first romantic getaway and we loved our visit to LA. I am happy that this was my choice and my partner booked it because it was on the beach and we both needed the beach and sunshine from cold frigid Chicago. As an LA native, it was my opportunity to show my sweetie my "hometown" and Air Venice was perfect. The room was clean, neat and simple and our room had the best view. By night however, the boardwalk became incredibly annoying and the noise on our second night was nearly unbearable. With bars and night spots surrounding us, the quite nights turned into leftover bar brawls in the walk below and at one point, we were about to call the police. Someone must have because just when i was ready to dial 9-1-1, the flashing lights appeared and the 45 minute long fight came to an end. Homeless tents are all over the boardwalk and although not the fault of the hotel of course but be aware of this. It is not entirely safe at night- although we personally had no issues. I do think however that the hotel could be a bit better considering the price. There is no security at this hotel. Basically anyone could easily get into the hotel, take the stairs or elevator up to any floor and do as they please, so again be aware of this. I doubt we will stay here again.

Stayed for three days. On the third day while we were out, someone came into our room and smoked crack in our bathroom. Came home to find a crack pipe in the sink and ashes everywhere. Manager denied that anyone was in our room and tried to tell me that a video with 15 minute gaps was proof of this. No compensation, only a cold shoulder. Forget about this dump if you are heading to Venice Beach. Guy at the front desk was actually great and super helpful and apologetic when we got back and found it. Manager Manny the next morning not so much. Spend an extra 20$ to stay anywhere else.

Not anything like I expected. Partial ocean view means you have to stand on the bed and look out on an angle to see the ocean. Room very stark, I have stayed at nicer hostels. Bathtub had soap scum on it. Parking wasn’t inexpensive as I was told had to pay $45 a day. It’s in a great area I grew up in the area and wouldn’t have been so disappointed if I knew this wasn’t an ocean view or parking was twice what I was told.

Beware! Do NOT stay here The area of Venice Beach is unsafe. There are also homeless tents all over the beach in front of the hotel. Human waste in these areas also. The room we stayed in had incredibly loud noise from the street AND hotel interior even with a noise machine on full blast. We could not sleep. After night 1 of our 2 night stay I asked staff if I could check out early and get my money back the front desk said yes, just to email Paul the manager. I emailed twice and Manny the assistant manager said to email Expedia and they would approve it. When Expedia emailed the hotel declined reimbursement for the night we didn’t stay. There were small green long bugs in the window area we noticed about two hours after arriving which climbed into our backpack we were disgusted and had to remove and clean everything once we left the hotel. Just be sure to check your items when you leave if you do stay. These weren’t bed bugs but there were a lot of then whatever they were. The bed is very low to the ground so if you have trouble bending or getting up be careful. There is paid parking down the street. Hotel staff told us to park in a particular garage off Navy street. You NEED a permit or you will get towed despite what hotel staff states. We did our due diligence and dint take front staff word for It and went back to the parking garage and waited for staff to come back from lunch. The worst part of our whole experience was the deception of staff.

Honestly, we booked this place because it was the cheapest place we could find ON the beach in all of the L.A. area. Previous reviewers have complained about homeless people, no air conditioning, noise, and poor WiFi. For starters, we can only speak for the ocean-view rooms. We love the beach, most any beach, and like being able to see the beach from the room. Venice Beach is a great people-watching place. Apparently there was a large homeless encampment here a few months ago, but that has been moved. There’s a bar/restaurant on each side of the hotel, and both have music most evenings that can be heard in the room. We stayed Wednesday through Saturday nights. The music ended by 9 on weeknights and by 10:30 on the weekend. The only time it was a problem for us was on Saturday afternoon when one bar had a band so loud it made the room almost uninhabitable for a few hours. Once the music stops, it’s remarkably quiet in the evenings. The view is across a parking lot, but still great. A higher floor would improve the view. And that parking lot is handy. $7 for all day, 6 a.m. til midnight; but you can’t find park there overnight. The recommended parking, in the Renaissance garage is a nice, underground garage, about a 5-minute walk away. $20 for 24 hours. We had no problem with the WiFi. In short, we liked the place. And, FWIW, we’re old retired people. The regular clientele is much younger.
