The Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City stands out for its inviting atmosphere, complete with live music and tasteful decor, and is lauded for its immaculate cleanliness and spacious rooms. A stone's throw from Universal Studios, guests appreciate the short walk or complimentary shuttle ride to the park. While the staff's warmth and efficiency earn high marks, some travelers feel that the hotel's value is impacted by steep prices for dining, parking, and other services. Despite this, the range of amenities, including a pool and cozy beds, adds to the comfort of the stay.

This hotel fits the bill for an easy, efficient stay in Hollywood. Literally across the street from Universal Studios (an easy walk or free shuttle ride), the Hilton offers convenience and comfort. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean; the bathrooms were spacious; the views were lovely. Free breakfast is included with Hilton Honors elite status, which felt like excellent value. Self-parking in the garage cost $30 and was easily accessible. Aimee at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. I highly recommend for a Universal Studios visit.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights for a weekend to Universal Studios. The best thing we liked about the property is the distance to Universal Studios. It’s about a 5 minute walk to Universal Studios and City walk but a shuttle is offered. We never used the shuttle. The room was a corner room and was clean. We paid extra for a city view and got a pool view instead. When we asked the front desk about it we were told it’s a city/pool view. The irritating thing about the room was the lack of hot water for most of the stay. We had along drive in and just wanted to take a hot shower. The water for me only stayed lukewarm, and for my husband got hotter eventually. The next day we had the same issue and let the water run for about 10-15 min before calling the front desk. They sent up an engineer right away and he said we had to let the sink water run first for a bit then turn on the shower and it will heat up. Sure enough it worked but it was weird the have to do that for each shower. The following day we had same water issue even with letting the sink run for 20 min the shower was lukewarm. We were over it and had to checkout anyways that morning. When checking out we discussed the water issue with the front desk and was credited back a day of parking $30 for the inconvenience. Next time we are considering staying at the Sheraton as it is just about the same distance to Universal.

Staff at hotel check-in was friendly and accommodating. They charge you $30 if you want to get into your room prior to standard check-in time. The room is large and we had a great view of Universal Studios. No frills, cafeteria/buffet style dining. Was mostly disappointed with the cold, low pressure shower. When you are paying premium prices due to location, hot water should be included in the package.

The rooms are dingy and the place is clearly a tourist trap when compared to Hilton hotels in other locations. My wife and I got into our bed only to find that there was no fitted sheet on the mattress. We called for housekeeping to bring us one, but they brought a top sheet. We said we already had a top sheet, but they did not understand what a fitted sheet was. We tried to explain that even when you purchase sheets that there is always a set: a top sheet and a fitted sheet that goes over the mattress. We have never been to hotel that didn’t provide a fitted sheet or claimed that they didn’t know what a fitted sheet is. It is unacceptable for guests to come and sleep on a mattress with just a top sheet. We are Hilton Honors Members and are very disappointed

Located near Universal Studios with paid parking garage. Lobby is spacious and nice enough but I wont say it is luxurious. Quick and welcoming check-in process. I like that they have a watering station outside the hotel’s gift shop to refill your water bottle and the water is cold and it tastes really good! Bellman Noli is so friendly, approachable and helpful in giving information about the area.

Room on the 24th. floor is spacious and it has fantastic views of the surrounding area including Universal Studios. Comfortable bed and pillows, large screen tv, small refrigerator, spacious bathroom, thick towels, what else could you ask for?

We had dinner reservation for their famous Saturday evening buffet but upon seeing the restaurant the day before that it has so many tables and the waiter telling us that they were fully booked, my wife and I decided to cancel our reservation even though we are fully vaccinated. The waiter reassured us they “require face masks” in the restaurant. Go figure.

We had late lunch in the almost empty bar area, so we felt safe eating indoors. Food was ok, service from Max, the bartender, was very good. The IPA suggested by Max was good but the Mojito was only average at best.

Due to COVID, they don’t do daily housekeeping. We had wet towels so I called housekeeping for whole set of fresh towels. I called back housekeeping after 45 minutes and I was told the person who was going to deliver the towels was on her break. Towels were delivered shortly thereafter, but the lady forgot to bring face towels. I did not realize this until after 5PM, which by that time their housekeeping department had already closed for the day.

Check out process was quick, all charges to my room printed on hard copy as requested by me. Getting out of the parking garage and onto the freeway was a breeze. Cost of room was around $300 per night due to the long weekend holiday.

I picked the Hilton due to its close proximity to Universal Studios. It was a little more per night than I usually like to spend (359.00) but due to it being during a holiday I was willing to spend that amount. The first screw up from the hotel was giving me 2 double beds when I booked and paid for 2 queens but we checked in late at night and didn’t care enough to complain. The room was large but the bed skirt was ripped on the one bed, the comforters smelt old and dirty, used soap was left in the shower from the previous guest, there was trash left under the TV stand and something had been split and left to dry on the nightstand.
I figured a Hilton would have better oversight of their housekeeping staff and should try harder in the future. I will never stay at that hotel again! I didn’t complain about the room because all they would’ve done was give us a different room or send the same housekeeping staff who didn’t get it right the first time!

Our January trip to Universal studios was made even more magical by our stay at Universal Hilton! To the delight of our little wizard, our view from the 17th floor into the park was equivalent to what you see on commercials, looking straight at Hogwarts. Traveling with 3 children, we were a little intimidated by the upscale feel of the hotel, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. If you can afford it, take advantage of valet parking, as taking luggage up from the self parking garage with no luggage carts available is a bit of a chore. Tip, if you take the parking elevator to the 4th floor you will not have to drag your luggage through the restaurant and lobby. I also will note that, although no luggage carts are available, the front desk did offer to send someone to help with the luggage if we needed them to. If you are planning to eat breakfast at the hotel, it is a bit spendy, $20 for adults for continental breakfast, or $30 for the full buffet. We chose the continental which was still more than enough to fill us all up. The food was very fresh and high quality, and at the end I felt the price was at least semi-justified. VISIT THE POOL! Even at 9:00 in the morning with 40 degree weather the pool was heated to a comfortable level. Surrounded by beautiful palm trees and a spectacular view of the California hills, your soul will feel replenished! There is a short 8 minute walk to the theme park (partially uphill) or you can take a free shuttle that takes about the same amount of time

Me and my wife and two kids came here to stay, because the Hotel is literally a 6 minute walk to the park itself. I while searching this Hotel found a room that overlooks the park itself which I found cool, because my two kids are kids and were excited about going to the park.

The Hotel itself, I will say this, I noticed the same complaints and a generic answer by the funny Manager who said they would look into the matter and apologizes for the issues with the stay. So lets get the 3 most annoying out there, 1st the bed legit felt like I was laying on a bunch of wood! It seemed like the bed forces you into the middle and was very weak!

2nd, the breakfast was alright and far from perfection as the food was cold and barely kept warm, the eggs looked watery as hell and not cooked right.

3rd the price for parking was hilarious, you come to stay at a 5 star Hotel, but get 3 and half stars, because the parking should be included and not excluded from the price. Think many come here to stay and already paid a hefty price to stay at a clean place and get bare minimum. Basically I did my own pro's and con's of the Hotel.

Pro's- Close to the park, somewhat close to the Santa Monica Beach, Griffith Park, Walk Of Fame /Disaster lol, Universal Walk, Universal Park 6 minute walk!, Hollywood sign, and etc. The Hotel room, clean, lacks real coffee!, The staff are very polite and respectful.

Con's- The restaurants Cafe Sierra and Atrium Lounge need to be vacuumed and seats cleaned. The parking fee is a joke specially since the structure is not close to the front desk and your near the convention area...

Me and my wife have recently completed a 2 week West Coast road trip around California and Nevada and this was our first stop after an 11 hour flight. Having now read some of the negative reviews on here I want to assure anyone reading this that the hotel, its staff, its amenities, its facilities, its cleanliness and its comfort during our stay were top notch! We were told upon arrival that there is no daily cleaning service, however if we required anything to just ask - more than happy with this, post Covid! Appreciate it's a risk having your cleaning staff servicing every room and you just don't know do you? We were more than happy to make our own beds and 2 toilet rolls were enough for 2 people for 4 days. I still vote yours as the best bed we stayed in on our 8 hotel journey, so comfortable and just right! We ordered room service first night and the food was amazing, highly recommended, just like the breakfast next day. Yes, breakfast included would be nice, but we were happy to pay for the buffet the next day as the quality was great as were the waiting staff. It was my first time driving in America and I've come to learn that the hotels who don't charge you to park are the hotels not worth staying at! We difnt use the shuttle to get to universal as it's only a 10 minute walk into the park, directions provided at reception! Happy with the fee to park our car, knowing it wad safe and secure for $xx per day (can't even remember the price as it's really not that important). We only have two faults for this hotel, one which was resolved at the hotel, the second was only evident on checking out:

1. The safe in our room didn't work, however we were told we could use their safety deposit boxes and someone could fix the safe at a time convenient to us. As it stands we used the deposit box for the entirety of our trip as it was used for passports and onward travel documents so handy that we knew it was safe!

2. Upon checking out we noticed guests who checked in received 2 bottles of free water, we dif not on check in. At Hilton UK they have freshly baked cookies they give when you check in, so when we didn't receive these we assumed nothing was given. We made use of the water fountain in the lobby to fill our own bottles (very handy and ice cold), but a consistent check in would be good.

Other than that our stay was perfect.

Very nice hotel. We got a double queen room. Good sized, clean and comfortable. Only complaint about room, it is nice if there is a mirror out side of bathroom, so 2 people can get ready at same time. Also, my pet peeve. There is never enough hooks to hang towels, bathrobes and shaving knits
The location is nice. We took uber from airport at a reasonable price.
The restaurant in hotel was good and reasonable. We had a la cart breakfast and I got a salad to go that was big enough for 2
The shuttle runs every 15 minutes to universal park/ city walk. City walk has restaurants and shops. The brewery and voo doo donuts were very good
We also took short uber ride to LA zoo, small but nice way to spend an afternoon
Overall, very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff
