The Millennium Biltmore is one of the most beautiful hotels in LA. The lobbies, the ballrooms even the bar just ooze classic charm; they are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are relatively large and the beds are comfortable. This is a huge hotel. I did feel that the service was not up to par. While I was always treated...

So the main hotel, common areas, cafe and such is amazing. The interior is as awesome as the best castle I've been in across Europe. It really is THAT LA hotel that throws back to the majestic Hollywood era. The rooms though, not so much. They are fine, but not up to par with the rest of the hotel, hence...

Grammy week was a fun time to stay on the 11th floor, enjoy breakfast on the 10th floor private breakfast hang out every morning, hit the pool downstairs and the large exercise room and end the evening in the buzzing bar couches outside the doors of the bar. Great jazz is playing on the loud speakers and everyone the female...

I booked a king size bed room (several month in advance), but when I arrived they only had single bed rooms, no discount or other services added for this inconvenience. Internet is unstable and not fast, not usable for any realtime usage (lync+++).

The Biltmore is an LA classic. You've seen its public spaces in hundreds of movies and tv shows, and it is a pleasure to experience them in person. The hotel has survived the vicissitudes of Downtown LA's history--fortunately once again on an upswing. Millennium is an odd little chain with some marquis properties. But this one, like several others in...

Indeed, its a historical and elegant hotel. We went there for a wedding. Everywhere, the ceiling, walls, decor were ellegant and nice. As long as there is no need to visit the restrooms. They are very very old and outdated. They do much need to get resurfaced to match the rest of the beautiful hotel. Disappointed!!!!

When we arrived, I was amazed by the beauty of the lobby. Even if the style is pretty classic, everything looks so fancy and chic! I was really excited to discover the room but was a disappointment... the style looks old and not charming at all, it was really different from the photos we saw when we booked online! I...

Lots of history! Nice rooms. Beautiful architecture inside! There was a movie being filmed while I was there. On Saturday and Sunday they have a Victorian Tea Time and many people came in period dress. Enjoyable stay!

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel has been a legendary Los Angeles landmark since 1923. With exquisite Spanish-Italian Renaissance architecture, including stunning hand-painted ceilings, it's rich history is most noted for its connection with the Oscars - the founding banquet for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was held in the Crystal Ballroom in 1927, where the original "Oscar" statuette was sketched on a Biltmore napkin, and eight Academy Awards banquets were held in the Biltmore Bowl during the '30s and '40s. ... more   less
