Room was very comfortable and large. Had nice patio area and spacious bathroom. I was on the first floor. The only negative about the room was the lighting - a little dark. Fitness center was closed but they had nice area set up by the pool with a couple of cardio machines and some free weights. The food was outstanding! Highly recommend the tuna melt!! Really cool outdoor dining patio which was very pleasant. The service is first rate across the board! One of the best things about hotel is its location and proximity to just about anywhere you want to go as a visitor to the LA area. Will definitely stay there again.
We are currently staying at this hotel the has been no room cleaning service for two days when we complained to front desk the said they have staff shortages. They gave no notice when we checked in nor have they offered a discount or refund. This is supposed to be a premium hotel. We are very disappointed with the service and the response we get from management.
I had stayed in this hotel three times previously since it's close to my cousin's home. Previously I would have rated it 3.5 to 4 stars mostly because of the weird layout which involves two wings separated by an extremely steep hill. The gym was initially a converted hotel room but it satisfied my needs. When I checked in the desk clerk, unprompted, mentioned the gym being on the upper wing and I told him I knew that. What he didn't tell me was that, while a new and more proper gym had been made, it had been closed for months if not years, and was now replaced by three aerobic machines by the pool. The treadmill was not working but was repaired by the next morning after I reported it.. The room was spacious but totally devoid of any information material. I tried to find info on the wifi password but there was not a scrap of information in the room. When I tried to call the desk the phone went unanswered after about a dozen rings and three tries. Admittedly it was close to midnight but this was a full facility hotel after all. In the morning, around 8:15 I tried to reach the front desk by phone again. After about 20 rings it was finally answered by someone who mumbled the password and hung up. I got dressed and went to the front desk finding a line up and only one person at the desk. I interrupted and said can I please have the password. The person at the desk handed me a pre-printed slip and said "I'm only the bellman". I was unable to get the shower working the first morning and requested someone look at it. In the evening it was the same situation. Ultimately I found it was quite easy when you knew how but I didn't know how so it was only the morning after my second night that I finally got it working. I'm not staying there again. …
This hotel is luxe in the name only. I am here now for a week for a family event and I really wish I weren’t. This hotel looks nice in pictures but is deeply run down. The halls are dingy and smelly, the rooms smell like dried pee, the carpet is filthy, the bathrooms are like 30 years old. The shower head is only about 5’8” off the floor so my husband and I both had to duck to get into the flow of water. The crib they gave my baby looks like it was taken out of an abandoned orphanage or something. Super creepy. Wi-Fi is lousy. There are two different buildings that are apparently not connected so to get to the restaurants you have to take a little cart. Valet parking is $47 a day and is, at least upstairs where there is a parking lot, a silly waste of time. Also, I made a reservation for 3 people and was given 2 towels. So my husband had to use my wet towel for himself. I hate it here. I am going to see if there is at least a room that doesn’t smell so strongly of pee tomorrow. Fingers crossed!…
A real find -- a beautiful, comfortable hotel with great service and terrific food, and every amenity, hidden away at the foot of the Getty museum. Wonderful location for anyone with business at UCLA or on the West Side of LA. Everything close by. But two issues: If your room is in the upper section by the pool and gym, you have to walk up/down a steep hill or wait for a golf cart to get you to the dining area and Sunset Blvd. Also, the internet is spotty--sometimes went out for an entire morning.
Always a superb experience in every way at the Luxe, from the moment you encounter the gracious, polite and stellar team at the front door (thank you Hank and Cynthia) to the fantastic team running the truly delightful restaurant (thank you Enrique, Enrique and all of their colleagues). Cannot recommend the Luxe enough for service, a lovely setting and always delicious meals, cocktails, coffees etc. etc. etc.
Entering the facility, we nearly were T-boned by a valet who ignored the stop sign. Reaching the registration, there was no guest check-in parking area and no one came up to us to advise. Television in room didn't work until I found the plug on the back of the set wasn't all the way in. Television remote "Info" button displayed "No program information available" for every channel and show. Outlet built into desk lamp was protruding a quarter inch and we had the lamp replaced for safety. Texting valet ticket number as instructed on ticket only resulted in a message that the ticket number wasn't found.
Our vacation was Family Reunion (East-West Coast), Disneyland, Universal, Site Seeing and Fun. Luxe offers a Central Location, on a Major Highway, with all your family needs. Midday, we would come back for a R&R, jump in the Pool, sit in the Sun or Snooze. The room has a refrigerator, Keurig, TV plus other available appliances. Shuttle to and from the upper building. Parking is available, for a fee. Friendly staff plus many other amenities.
I was so lucky to check into the Luxe when Bernadette and Martine were on duty. They were both amazing with can do attitudes. I have sensory issues and they both worked hard to find me a super quiet room. They personally handled my baggage and were constantly smiling. I got to the Luxe really early and while I waited in the spacious, very comfortable lobby - I saw Martine and Bernadette work their magic. Every guest was greeting with a beautiful smile and received super professional service. The guest were greeting with smiles and as they walked to the elevator I could see the smiles were contagious! The guest were smiling ear to ear. During my stay, Bernadette and Martine continued to provide me with super professional service. Besides the incredible Martine and Bernadette which were enough for a ten star review - let's talk about the hotel. The rooms were immaculate and the beds super comfortable. All the amenities were there - gourmet coffee, fridge, safe, iron, tons of towels, shampoo, creams etc. The grounds are really nice and the pool was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was great and affordable. Special shout out to Eddy - the greatest server ever. I highly recommend the Luxe and will stay there every time I am in LA…
Recently stayed at the Luxe Sunset near Brentwood in Los Angeles. Upon check in, we were specifically told, without any provocation, that full maid services was being provided. We left the hotel at 10 am, without placing a do not disturb hanger on our door, and when we returned at 10 pm, found the room unmade, wet towels still on the bathroom floor, garbage not emptied. This was bad, but what was worse was, first there was no person beyond a desk clerk to speak to, second, she refused to get in contact with a management person, third, lied to us repeatedly for an hour about sending someone down with some clean towels. Finally, after getting the email addresses for two of the management, we were ignored after sending not one, but two emails (the second 2 days later). And, by the way, we had 2 rooms, in different areas of the hotel, and neither was given services. We have stayed here three or four times, but clearly the standards at this hotel have declined substantially, and we will not stay again. We recommend that you don't either. Poor management, and no published corporate information for contact.…
