i just want to alert you to the state of this accommodation. The first room I stated in stunk so bad it mad me gag every time I walked in. When the weekend kicked in the base from the club underneath the hotel was so big I couldn’t get to sleep till 4am, that was with ear plugs and a...

An average place to stay in an alright location in downtown LA. Train station opposite and little Tokyo down the road was convenient and easy access to bus stops. Otherwise the room itself was dark crammed and depressing with people constantly yelling outside my window at night The staff however were helpful and nice

The lodging is perfect. The staff is pleasant and supportive. The area is awesome for going to L.A. Courts or to the State of California building. The quality is similar to a decent motel. The area is extraordinary and is close open transportation.

We attend the Anime X every year for the last 12 years. The hotel we usually use was booked and we were offered the Kawada Hotel. NEVER use, stay or even book a room there. I'm handicapped and we were told we had the largest room in the hotel. The room was about 10x10. We had a full size bed....

Its small, a bit dated but for me its perfect for the price. Its near the red line metro stop and right under the disney music hall. there is cheap 5 dollar all day on weekend parking. Not the classiest joint but does job.

Worst hotel ever. I am now on my second night of being shaken in my room due to the nightclub below the hotel. The room is literally shaking from the music and I can distinctly understand every song that's played down there. It is 1:30am and the music will not stop. I asked for a room change today and was...

If you're looking for a pretty, spacious or a romantic hotel, go elsewhere. If you want to get a clean, safe, simple room for a fair price stay here. The Kawada is old but it has been well maintained. The staff are very friendly and willing to make your stay as positive as possible. After I read previous reviews, I...

I am writing this review at 1:15 AM, the walls are literally vibrating from the music from the club downstairs so there is NO possibility of sleep. This is probably the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. I am not actually sleeping in the bed but on top of it and on a towel because this place is filthy....

So when you first walk in the lobby looks nice and clean, you get in the elevator that takes you to some old school hallways that reek of smoke (I asked for non-smoking). The room was nothing like the pictures. I booked a Queen suite and the room was tiny, there was no couch in there like the above picture,...

We went there during memorial day weekend, and booked this hotel last minute. Their rates are quite good compare to their peers in the area. Since it was a last minute booking we could not find a room when we called other hotels so had to go here and thankfully they did have a room for us. Pros: hotel location...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
