I came to town from WA to visit my mom in a hospital down the street. My brother booked a room for me for 2 nights online and at the time of booking, gave credit card information and was charged $50 as a deposit for the room. After a long day at the hospital, I arrived around 9pm to check in. To start, the person working was very unfriendly and did not make a good first impression. They looked up my reservation and then asked me for a card to charge the room. I told them my brother booked online, but they said there was no payment made. I tried calling my brother, but he lives on the east coast and did not answer the late phone call. I was so tired, so I asked if I could pay for 1 night with my own card and then get everything straightened out the next day. They said yes, but in order for me to pay only 1 night and not the 2 that were originally booked, they would have to cancel the initial reservation and then book me for only 1 night. Ok…but this would not guarantee a second night stay would be available and they also would not honor the price that was quoted online ($159) and instead charged me full price ($187). So dumb. I was so tired & out of other options so I stayed the night. The next day I got ahold of my brother, who confirmed that he had given them credit card information and even saw that he was charged $50 by the hotel as a hold for the reservation. I went down to talk to the front desk about the mix up and was “helped” by another unfriendly front desk associate. I explained what happened and asked if we could refund my card and charge the room to my brother. I was told no because the card had to be present. But some how it was ok to charge $50 without it being there..? Didn’t make any sense to me and I don’t think it made much sense to the employee either, but they just shrugged their shoulders and did nothing more to try and help me. I left immediately and will never be back. Instead I will find every website I can to leave a bad review for this crappy hotel. Some other things to note, the back patio door would not lock- I pushed a chair up against it and crossed my fingers, the sink/shower had some weird plumbing issues and would make awful noises and change pressure when you tried to use hot water and immediately after I got out of the shower my feet were black from just walking on the bare floor. Be warned. Stay away.…
Came for our anniversary and had fabulous experience. Ivan at the front desk made reservations for dinner and then cocktails after and on top of that, was able to get us tickets to an art show. He definitely knows how to go above and beyond. We will be back.
Hollywood hotel in LA is good. Phil, a staff member, was very kind and helped me check in early, so I could relax. I could stay for 6 nights and 7 days and have a really comfortable time. If I come to LA again, I want to stay here
