My husband and son stayed there for an event. The room was supposed to be taken care of by the company hosting the event. My husband was told at the front desk that they would only be charged for incidentals. Instead, they charged us for that night and when my husband asked for a late checkout, they said that was fine, but still charged him for another night. I've left multiple voice messages on the managers answering machine but haven't received any call back. This place does not care about their customers!

Hotel is in location walkable to restaurants and some shops, but is very much lacking in front desk customer service. Long check-in line and unwelcoming check-in staff - felt like we were a burden to them. When my 75 year old mother later approached the desk from the side to ask a question about check out time, one front desk staffer loudly berated her, saying that she was not allowed to approach the desk from the side. I thought this was outrageous as she was obviously elderly. Room looked somewhat worn-out with frayed carpet, safe that malfunctioned and window shade pull that came off. There is no restaurant serving lunch. However, staff at the bar and restaurant were friendly and helpful, as were those working the car arrival and baggage check.

Two stars! I didn’t go with one star bc staff and lobby looked to be remodeled. I was given a “complimentary upgrade” but is it really complimentary when they tell the guest next to you that they don’t have any more king rooms. Ok, so I got an upgrade. I’ll take it. BUT, the suite was trashed. The club chair looks like a dog got to it. Walls are chipped, tables dirty. Not sure if the hotel is going for the rustic 80’s look. On top of that there is a constant beeping coming from some kind of monitor on the ceiling. I was on the 4th floor and I could her every car go by. It was even crazy that I could hear the beep beep from someone unlocking their car alarm. For an out of town guest, thinking this is a Beverly Hills hotel, I was expecting glam and clean furnishings. Not the case.

Don’t stay here! The hotel has been remodeled and looks nice but the service and maintenance was horrible! When you walk into the hotel, it is clear has been remodeled to be more modern, which is nice. However, the running of the hotel is very poor. First, our room was dirty, did not have hot water, the sink was clogged, and there was no shampoo in the shower dispensers. When we asked for another room because of the maintenance issues, they kept asking for us to wait for maintenance even though it was late. Running out of shampoo also indicates that the cleaning staff missed many opportunities to refill it. To me, this is a huge red flag. Second, I travel a lot and use the M Club for frequent travelers. Once again, the room looked really nice. However, it was dirty, missing a lot of teas, there was no hot water, the coffee was cold, the fridge froze all of the drinks, and there were very few snacks. When I told the hotel staff they did not do anything for over two hours. Third, I heard in the elevators multiple people saying it was the worst Marriott they have ever stayed at. I agree! Bottom line, go someplace else!

Responded 17 Jan 2023
Dear Ariel B., Thank you for writing a review regarding your recent stay with us. Please allow me to apologize for the several issues you experienced during your visit, from your accommodations to staff service. I am very disappointed as this is not the norm for us. Rest assured, I have shared your comments with the appropriate department managers and asked that they address these issues with their respective associates. Again, thank you making us aware of your experiences. Sincerely, Dan Stenz General Manager

I stayed at this hotel for a business conference. They were very accommodating and helpful even though I had some little bump. Manager really try to help as much as they can to ensure your stay in Marriott will be pleasant. Definitely will recommend if you’re in town for business.

What a wonderful, friendly hotel. I was traveling solo and felt very comfortable/secure in the hotel. The staff was very professional and courteous. I left my kindle under the pillow and the housekeeper was able to retrieve it. The hotel was able to send it to me quickly. I greatly appreciated their sterling service. Hope to return again!

The Beverly Hills Marriott provided a very comfortable stay over the past week. From the valets to the front desk to the housekeepers, everybody was friendly and ready to help. A Director of Operations, Queenie Luong, went out of her way to address an issue we had with extending our reservation. The staff seemed to pick up on her proactive approach. The energy and smiles were everywhere. The room was nice, clean, and very quiet even though the hotel was sold out. The views were excellent and the location was great for getting around Beverly Hills and the neighboring areas. Very nice!

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. Our experience this time was better than the last. Housekeeping serviced our room every day (although once very late in the afternoon, suggesting a staffing issue). Rooms continue to be seriously short of drawer/shelf space -- the wire standalone shelves that we had the last time wasn't present this time and didn't solve the problem sufficiently anyway. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant is open again but experience was marred by a failure to keep the chafing dishes hot -- both eggs and potatoes were cold. Pool area as nice as ever. Parking as overpriced as before ($59 per day or $42 for Marriott Vacation Club members). Elevators are getting so old they must be hard to maintain. Button to our floor (seven) was held in place with electrical tape in one of the elevators. Key to this hotel, at least for us, is location. If you happen to be Jewish and want to be near synagogues/friends and family, this is the ideal location. On a letter grade basis I'd rate this hotel in its current iteration as a solid "B."
