room needed remodeling. wall paper or whatever was n the walls in the bathroom were ripped. you can see the spackle on the walls in the room. kitchen was a joke. don't pay extra for it. 4 days i stayed i was in it for about 30 seconds. owners/employees were super friendly. its a ok place if you just need to sleep. parking was good. i could park close to the outside of my room. huge tv with lots of channels. a/c could have been better but did the job. the wifi didn't work when i tried it when i got there but did later in the day and till i left. the door and locks were ok but not much security.
Had to stay in Tujunga for an event and made reservations here. 30s roadside motel meets 2016. Some weird furnishing and remodeling choices. Anthony Melchiorri should come help sort that out. But super clean. Pretty quiet for being so close to the street. Super super clean room. Comfortable nicely fitted beds. Nice TV, nice cable selection, parking lot was clean, grounds tidy. Would be happy to stay again! Might look a bit sketchy at first glance, but very decent. If I had to criticize, I would suggest they upgrade their doors and locks. I don't really mind using a key instead of keycard at these cute retro places, but you need to be able to secure the door once you get inside. I don't think they had a deadbolt, just the knob lock and the usual ineffective chain. We didn't feel unsafe, the neighborhood was okay. Just a preference for a real door with a real lock, in any situation. We stayed two nights, they accommodated our late arrival, and staff was friendly.…
I had to stay in the area for the night so I can carpool with a friend early next morning. I chose Mt. Gleason Motor Lodge as it was the closest motel to my friend's house. Unfortunately, they did not have space at his mom's house to accommodate me. Upon checkin, I was greeted by a clerk. I mentioned to her that I had called earlier to reserve a room but she had no idea what I was talking about. After giving me the key to my room I walked up to the door. First thing I noticed was that there were shoe prints on the door and a cigarette butt on the step. I requested for a non-smoking room but upon entering the cigarette/smoke smell was evident. At first I thought it would be temporary but the smell got stronger. I also noticed that the night stand was filthy (had soda/drink marks) as well as stains next to the light switch (looks like blood or jam). My friend wiped both for me and the face towel he used was just covered with filth. It was so late at night that I was so tired. In retrospect, I probably would have gone to another hotel but they already ran/charged my credit card. I called the front desk to complain about the smell and they said this was the only non-smoking room available that night. They were kind enough to give me a Lysol spray to hide the smell. After my friend left I explored the room even more. There were stains upon stains everywhere! The chairs, the kitchen (a dead mosquito, roach was found, droppings), the floors, towels! I was horrified! I noticed the garbage cans came from the former Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas (it had their logo). The soap did not have a scent and it was dry. Think of using bricks as soap. The towels were so used up that it was thin and had a smoky smell. Mold in the shower and also more stains in the window. There was no telephone in the room. The TV in the room only had one channel (ABC) and the only thing that worked was the volume. I found some stains on the sheets too. I was so afraid to lie down on the bed that I had to spread a few of my clothes to lay on top of it. It was that filthy! During the night I tossed and turned because of the heavy smoke smell. I opened the windows and yet the smell would linger. I only had an hour sleep and I quickly left the hotel. Thank goodness it was morning. Never will I stay nor recommend this hotel to anyone! It did feel like a transition motel for those looking for trouble.…
I stayed here for two nights during a trip to LA. It's kind of a dump, but you get what you pay for. It did have cable TV. It also had a "kitchenette" which was just a mini fridge and microwave. We had a king bed that was hard, and a small bathroom. It's not a particularly clean place to stay, and we did not feel very safe, either. I did not hate my stay but I was not impressed.
