Likely a better place to party than to stay. Rented large WOW suite but did not like it. No bathroom privacy for romantic couple, no art on walls, stark hard interior, modern low uncomfortable furnishings. Not for everyone. Check it out before you commit. Great pool bar and beer garden on roof. Crowded busy valet area. Front desk staff not...

Many review listed this hotel as 4-star. I would say the service was pretty good, but the facility is somewhat rundown and in need of upgrades. The room was huge even though I stayed at one of smaller rooms. The bed was comfortable. As you can see in the photos, the room has modern interior and institutional bathroom. The counter...

Hotel itself from the outside isn't much and when you walk in through the back the recption area with the cool sofas etc is exceptionally dark and needs something as is lacking that wow factor. Service was good on reception they checked me in at 10am which was nice, room on the 7th floor - big and spacious, interesting concept...

Been here a few times and love the large rooms, pool decks and roof bars and varied activities including crazy people watching and the occasional impromptu music. Service is fun and friendly and location makes it a nice alternative to otherwise dull hotels downtown.

I choose this hotel purely based on available.I get retro but this hotel is in need of a serious upgrade or at the very least decent preventative maintenance. The room was functional but tiny-The bed was literally sitting on the floor and considering I am 6'7"-I felt like I was sleeping on a blow up mattress in my basement for...

Stayed here for a business trip. Did not have the opportunity to go up to the pool, but would have liked to, as I've heard it's superb. Pros: nice place. relatively cheap parking. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Ping Pong! Especially the neon spray paint one in the lobby. Cons: Don't rely on getting a good night's rest. Impossible to fall...

The Art Deco building this hotel is housed in is one of the highlights of staying here. It's great to see some of the original features of the old Superior Oil Company building, particularly on the ground floor. The downstairs restaurant is gorgeous too. The rooms and the rooftop have probably seen better days (rooftop in particular) but they're minimal...

Avoid this overrated, poorly managed nightmare. If you value your security and integrity, avoid this rather unpleasant charade!!! There were serious events at this hotel which required 100USD per hour security.. Which experienced 10USD per hour security. I would love a 5 minute conversation with the owner!! knowing, of course, this will never happen. Make a choice "The Standard"! Nightclub,...

We stayed in LA for 4 nights, as we were on our honey moon we got upgraded to a junior suite, although there was nothing 'junior' about it, it was a massive room/ living room with a very stylish huge bathroom. I loved the shower and getting ready every night in the lit mirror. The breakfast was good. The roof...

Okay, these folks understand good customer service. Starting from day one, they got me. So staying brand loyal to a hotel is key and they are now my go to when I am in LA. The staff is nice and understanding - no LA attitude - just great service. The sleep - it is the only place I can sleep...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
