This has to be the worse hotel in LA! Do not waste your money! Our room had potential black mold in the bathroom, and the front office staff was rude. The toiletries provided did not have a safety seal on them. My daughter ended up getting headaches every day we were there. When I told the front office staff about the mold and showed them pictures, all she said was “ok”. Not okay!!! I would have liked to heard an apology or that you will take care of it for the next guest! I would NEVER stay here AGAIN and recommend you spend the extra money to stay somewhere that is actually walking distance to something! Best thing about this place??? The Starbucks across the street and the free water, so that is not saying much!

We stayed here for two nights in what was supposed to be a suite, but was actually just two hotel rooms with a door in between we unlocked. It was ok, but just your average rooms, not as nice as what is pictured on website. Looking out the windows of room on the side we were on was a little unsettling. Graffiti and obvious signs you are in a shady part of Hollywood. Upon our arrival we were quickly feeling nervous. Its outside front appearance looks as though you are entering some dark club or something of that sort. Once you get off the elevators and enter the floors wher the rooms are it is much better appearance and has nice pictures of hollywood stars and such on the walls, clean and brighter vibe. The hotel staff in general was helpful and allowed us to leave baggage up front while went out after check out for a bit. The pool area was ok, but in need of some maintenance. Grab and go breakfast was good. I would however recommend staying up closer to Universal Studios in that area. We walked in the rain up to Universal from this hotel and it was a bit if a walk and had to cross some busy freeway entrances and streets. There was no shuttle. We had too many people with us for an uber and the Metro was not reliable at all. We got stranded in Hollywood because the Metro cancelled the bus for the day at the stop we needed to go back. This was a nightmare story... Anyway, if on an extreme budget go with this, but would try to come up with a few extra dollars and stay up on the hill near Universal.

I am a current choice employee. Prior to arrival i called 2 days before and day of my arrival in the morning to request an early checkin of 1 hour. Upon my arrival someone was being checked in. When speaking with the front desk agent (obviously new) she was very rude and said only senior citizens were allowed early checkins. I shrugged it off and came back in an hour to the dirtiest hotel room ive ever seen. Water spots all over the floors and counters as well as whole piles of dirt. The bed looked like someone had been laying on it. I was not made aware of breakfast hours or what the hotel was even doing for breakfast (that i had to pay extra for). Upon checkout a housekeeper walked into my room without knocking to alert me it was time to checkout (unacceptable). The front desk agent upon checkout was equally as rude as the woman the night before and gave me no information on when my deposit would return or even care to help with that. The manager did not believe I was an employee and was just as rude. Overall the absolute WORST hotel I have ever stepped inside of in my entire life. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. As an employee i have reached out to the owner of the hotel and she offered no condolences or anything and said her employees would never do anything like that. This place is not made for customer service and should be closed to allow adequate time to properly train the staff on basic human decency.

At the Tilt Hotel, we generally receive numerous compliments for our professional, friendly, and helpful staff and property manager, and we are sorry to read your comments in relation to your experience. This is not the usual feedback that we get, and rest assured that this critical feedback will be used in training our team to ensure a superior experience for our future guests. Kindly note that early check-in depends on availability and occupancy. As rightly pointed out by our front desk staff, we offer early check-in for senior citizens. Your comment about breakfast is duly noted. We provide complimentary breakfast to all of our guests, and none of our guests pays for this service unless it's market items, which are unavailable at the moment. We apologize that one of our housekeeping staff members walked into your room without knocking. We will bring this to the attention of the concerned team member and see to it that our staff is more conscious of this moving forward. We regret the conditions in which you found the room, and we wish you had made us aware of this during your stay, as we would have gladly taken care of the issue and switched your room to ensure a pleasant stay for you. Nevertheless, we have noted your feedback, and we will have your comments additionally reviewed by our housekeeping manager and see to it that our staff does a better job of preparing the rooms moving forward. As for the deposit, the deposit in our system is simply a hold, which gets released immediately at check out, subject to a quick inspection of the room. However, it can take some banks several days to apply the funds back into the client's account. This hotel has rude staff. At check in I was NOT told that if you wanted your room cleaned you had to request it due to covid, after 2 days I asked a maid in the hallway and she told me about it. The coffee pot in my room was not working, i requested a new one and was told "we don't do that"; what the heck does that even mean. then I was told they had coffee in the lobby.. i asked if she was bringing it up to me and got hung up on. Five minutes later a knock at the door and a coffee pot showed up. The fiasco about the fact that they gave us a totally wrong room from what we reserved and the fight i had to go thru to get it made right. This place sucks...

Dear guest, We are very sorry to hear that you did not experience the usual level of satisfaction that other guests have with their stays with us. Upon investigation, we were made aware that your original reservation was for a suite with one bathroom. You spoke with one of our front desk agents prior to your arrival and requested your booking to be amended to include a suite with two bathrooms. However, we weren't able to make any changes due to the other suites with two bathrooms already being booked for those days. We only confirmed to you that we could change your room, if feasible. Unfortunately, during check-in, we only had the suite you had initially booked with one bathroom available since all of our other suites were occupied by guests already. Because you didn't want the 1-bathroom suite that you had booked yourself, our team provided you with two options regarding the situation. 1. To offer two rooms and 2. Cancel the existing reservation without any fee and relocate you to another hotel with your consent. Eventually, you were assigned two rooms next to each other. We regret that despite our best efforts to ensure a pleasant stay for you, you were not fully satisfied with this option either. Furthermore, both the Front Desk and Housekeeping had mentioned to you about our modified cleaning service policy due to COVID-19. Sounds like you may have missed this information. Regarding the coffee machine, seems like you were not familiar with the usage of the machine, but our Operation Manager and General Manager, who were present during your check-in, did provide you with options. It was myself, my son, and his best friend spending 5 days in the LA area. When we checked in, the front desk person immediately informed us of renovations going on and that the work hours were 9-5. I reserved a suite with a king bed and two queens. The rooms are huge and had two bathrooms! I was overjoyed to not have to share a bathroom with two teenage boys lol. The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms were large. Each room had a fridge but the queen room had a microwave. It’s literally up the block from CityWalk and Universal! Far from Disneyland so if you are Using Uber have a big budget. You can park at the hotel but it is $15 a night. Factor in you have to pay for parking EVERYWHERE minimum $10 an hour!! The renovation works did start at 9 but held off on the power tools till about 10:30-11:00. I thought that was reasonable. The housekeeping staff was nice and polite and kept the rooms spic and span. I would stay again.

The front desk service is great! We arrived early and were not expecting a room to be ready but they found us a room and even upgraded us to a suite. So thankful. Clean rooms. Beds a little firm for my liking but clean so it was fine. Cleaning staff great and so nice when we asked for more towels. Breakfast is super basic but coffee was great and the apple croissants were good. Felt safe at the hotel. It’s a short walk to Universal and we felt safe, after 3 days of walking we opted the short drive but it was super close. Starbucks across the street was nice. I’d stay here again.

We booked one night here to stay after a day trip to Universal Studios and we are very happy with our experience. We came early on the morning of our stay, and they were happy to let us park there since there were extra spots available. We ubered over to universal, which is less than 5 minutes away. I'm sure this isn't always an option if it's busy, but it was a nice perk. This hotel was perfect for the occasion because it is so close to the park, yet not outrageously priced. Once we did check in, we got a room with only one bed, so we were upgraded to two adjoining rooms for us and our kids. They are still renovating, but it was not an inconvenience in any way, and the renovated lobby and rooms are all beautiful. Everything was clean, very comfortable, with all the basic amenities, including fridge, microwave, and continental breakfast. The front desk staff was so nice and very welcoming. Overall, we were very pleased and felt that it was exactly what we were looking for, at the right price. We will be staying here again next time!

The Tilt Hotel Universal/Hollywood is a Great hotel to stay at! It is sooo close to a lot of major attractions such as Universal Studios, Los Angeles Zoo, and Griffith Park. The hotel staff treat you like one of the "family" and their continental breakfast is included with your stay at their hotel and is very tasty. The rooms are comfortable and each has a microwave and fridge in them.

We stayed one night to go to Universal Hollywood, the hotel is a 15 minute walk away and you walk through the Universal car park so suspect it’s quicker to walk than drive. There is on site parking at the hotel and a free continental breakfast in reception. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our luggage on check out. The hotel is tired in places but it was being renovated as we stayed and we felt it was right for the price we paid.

Convenient location to Universal Studios, I would suggest getting Uber or Lyft since there are some uphill walking. The continental breakfast fast is a nice way to start the day. The guys at the front desk are nice and very helpful.
