The rooms are brand-new and therefore outstandingly clean--and very stylish. You can request a room with a view of the Hollywood Hills! The central part of the hotel has been updated as well and is now a very happening bar/lounge/restaurant area, which on weekdays does die down at a reasonable hour (between 10 and 11 pm) if you're worried! The location could not be better--easy access to The Grove, a short walk to the Academy Museum, all the shops, restaurants, galleries, and movie theaters in the area a short walk--or a very brief drive/ride to, say, Musso & Frank. Staff is great--Juliette and Jazmin are so welcoming and helpful, and the valet is also friendly and professional. Extremely safe neighborhood, as well.
This hotel is an absolute gem. I moved here at short notice from an Airbnb stay gone wrong and this place scooped me up and set me right from the moment I arrived (Rayanna is a hero). I can’t imagine there’s a better hotel for the price in LA - especially one with such a fantastic food menu and stunning restaurant setting. Special mentions also for Juliette and the great guy who was on reception on Saturday PM - they have been truly fantastic. It’s a huge recommendation from me!
This is the first time I stayed at Short Stories but my husband’s second time. This is a wonderful small boutique type hotel that is beautiful inside and was just opened in March of 2022. It has a stunning indoor-outdoor front desk and lobby area that spills out onto an outdoor enclosed patio area where there are lounge areas to eat and have a drink. The trees in this courtyard area have lovely lights that turn on at night and make for a visually stunning location to hang and enjoy the cool California weather. The pool is just off the courtyard with an entire wall of succulents as a design backdrop. Juliette and Kristina were wonderful greeting us at the front desk and making our stay extra special! The drinks and the food was delicious as well!! The rooms are super cool and are warm with beautiful linens and stunning furnishings. Bathroom had beautiful tile and I always had a nice hot shower. The interiors are comfortable and the room had herringbone wood floors and other textures to make for a casual but cool modern design. The property is made up of probably about 3-4 buildings that are only a few stories high, hence the name Short Stories. The location is perfect and across the street from the Farmer’s Market and The Grove so it was wonderful to simply be able to walk over and enjoy the restaurants and shops. I can’t speak highly enough of Short Stories Hotel and when we are back in LA we will be staying there again!…
I wish I could own a room here. I’d come ALL the time. I felt like I was more in a very fancy, beautiful outdoor garden instead of in the check in lobby. To the left was the most gorgeous indoor/outdoor cafe with a real fire at night. My well-appointed room looked over the courtyard. The room itself came right out of a magazine, and was complete with plush robes and turn down service. The staff were beyond kind, friendly, helpful, trustworthy. I’d stay here again and again and again
We were delighted by our 1 night stay at the Short Stories Hotel ! We had an easy car drop-off with friendly valet, and then were warmly greeted by the hotel manager Mosiah who was welcoming, helpful, efficient, and patient. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, delicious food, lovely music and the ambiance on the main floor was very modern and charming. We even took a dip in the lightly heated pool after a long day in the LA sun. We wished we could've stayed a few more nights but we will most certainly be back !!
I checked in a few days ago and I feel like I'm at home. Everyone here is so nice and hospitable, especially Juliette. The space and ambiance of the hotel is so cute and refreshing from the rooms, to the restaurant area, to the space where movies are projected each night. Love it here!
You feel like you are in an oasis! The bed is sooooooo good!! The hotel is fantastic, great location and easy to zip around for work or pleasure. Do not miss the pool..super fun. Thanks to Juliette and Jonathan for making the stay so smooth. Will be back in a few weeks!
What a pleasant and amazing surprise! Was here for one night in town for work but I can’t wait to come back with girlfriends to spend the weekend exploring LA Farmers Market, The Grove, Beverly Center, Robertson Blvd., Melrose, and the immediate streets surrounding this fabulous hotel. That said, the most impressive thing is the hotel itself and the wonderful experience you have from the spot-on staff. At check-in Mosiah was so gracious, professional and kind. Love the welcome fresh juice punch! Then Kristina personally walked me to my room and explained the property, restaurant, and hours. Such a nice touch. The restaurant!! Wow! Timothy was very thoughtful in guiding me towards particular items on the menu …all of which were amazing! Can’t say enough about the Cantelope Basil margarita and the artichokes!…
Kindness, care, beauty. Great location, in the center of everything and away from the crowds. Incredible staff, special thanks to Jazmin who assisted us promptly. Everyone, from valet parking to waitresses, with a smile as bright as the Los Angeles sun. We hope to return to this oasis of beauty soon.
A total gem. From our arrival to every aspect of our stay, Short Stories Hotel exceeded our expectations. The setting is a calm respite from the chaos of LA. The rooms are well sized and beautifully appointed. The restaurant is intimate and the food appetizing. The front desk staff - especially Messiah - was welcoming and helpful and made our stay stress free. We will come back again and again.
