After moving away from LA, I recently needed to return and was looking for a hotel in this location but far removed from the loudness of hollywood blvd. This hotel was perfectly tucked away on a quiet side street and was very quiet for the most part. Staff are simply amazing, they were extremely accommodating and seemed to really care about my wellbeing during the stay. Parking was fairly easy and the staff were also very considerate when I had 2 friends visiting in separate cars to get them in and out of the parking lot so they did not have to park on the street. The atmosphere is great, casual and classy. Enjoyed having the breakfast in the courtyard. Lovely stay and would highly recommend and come back.

This small Boutique hotel is a real discovery. Just 24 rooms with a small but fine courtyard - with chairs, loungers, two fireplaces and a fountain, with a pretty garden. The reception was extremely warm, we felt immediately welcome as guests. The rooms are all named after movie stars - from Marilyn Monroe to James Dean, Judy Garland to Ingrid Bergman. We had the Premier Guestroom Ingrid Bergman, which was a little bigger - with a table, a really wonderful bathroom - with shower and bathtub. Very nice, noble design. Highlight was next to the great bed the recessed mini-bar that hid in the wall. There is a small breakfast for $15 per person, which consists of croissants, orange juice, muffins, quiche, some fruit and coffee. It can happen that something is no longer there. But just ask the staff, they like to bring you something. Not a big breakfast buffet, of course, but fresh and fine for the already horrendous prices in LA and in the pretty atmosphere it is fun to enjoy the coffee in sunshine for example in the courtyard. The Walk of Fame is a 5 minute walk away, the metro there (Hollywood/Highland) - if you want to use it - around 10 minutes. Then on the Walk of Fame, the opportunity to explore the city with hop-on hop-off buses. Supermarkets are about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the hotel, we recommend Trader Joe's on Vine Street. The hotel also has cheaper deals than standard rates from time to time. It was worth every penny, and we will definitely come back on our next LA visit. This was a fantastic stay away from the big and impersonal hotel chains! Thanks for that!

A gem in Hollywood. From prior arrival they have assisted us so well, with replying in all sense of questions we had along with sorting out a delivery package for me. This was truly appreciated. The front desk team always welcoming and smile (especially the lovely lady with short black hair -apologies for not remembering the name- she was always so warm with her greetings). Mrs. Huang, the Hotel Manageress was exceptionally helpful from day one. The small garden at the entrance, a heaven on earth to seat and enjoy your wine at night with the two small fireplaces is amazing. The room was large and very comfortable. Clean every day. Only very small note it would be nice to add slippers for guests (they had bathrobes). The idea is a small boutique Hotel which for me personally as a traveller I tend to choose. I love this small warm welcome and feeling. We really loved the trip. There is nothing negative to say. The easy in/out from Hotel makes your stay more comfortable without this chaotic feeling of big Hotels. The Hotel is well located close to all famous attractions (walk o fame, Dolby Theatre) withing walking distance. Of course Uber is needed to explore the city. Sadly the public transportation does not exist and I would not advise anyone to use it. Just only one small suggestion, as the Hotel provides if a guest requests an amenity charge (basically includes a very small breakfast -croissants variations, coffee, juice and jam- and an aperitif in the evening) for a small surcharge per day, just simply add one-two more items on the breakfast so people can just have a larger variation to choose( maybe some boiled eggs, cheese and some charcuterie would be an idea). This is only a personal opinion. Thank you again for an amazing stay. Greetings from the family in Cyprus.

We had an amazing stay at The Prospect. The staff are all fantastic - very friendly and responsive. We were kindly offered an upgrade and stayed in the Omar Sharif room. The room was very large and absolutely gorgeous. The grounds are beautifully maintained and we sat at a firepit one night and enjoyed a glass of wine. The coffee and pastries at breakfast were delicious. The location was great for us, very walkable to many sights/attractions. We were always warmly welcomed when arriving back at the hotel after our daily adventures. The staff were very helpful providing tips on dining and transportation options. We would definitely stay here again!

The Prospect was an oasis in the middle of bustling Hollywood. It was classy and pleasant, with a beautiful garden courtyard - replete with fire pits at night. The rooms had everything we needed - and it was one of the best hotel bedrooms we’ve encountered.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay and a good nights sleep at this hotel. Located in a quiet neighborhood is a huge plus if you are looking to get sleep after a long day. All the staff are kind and friendly. The rooms are beautiful. We believe the water in the shower was treated so it’s not your usual harsh Californian water in the shower. Thoughtful touches everywhere in the hotel. We enjoyed the beautiful courtyard at night by the fire pit then under the shade of an umbrella during the day. It was the most relaxing time we’ve ever had in a long time. The word “restaurant” derives from restoring or renewing the guest. The stay here reminded me of that word and wondered if there was an equivalent word for hotels since The Prospect certainly renewed both of us! Thank you for such a special stay. We hope to be back again, this time reserving the Marylin Monroe room!

All of the reviews are true— such a lovely, sparkling clean boutique hotel in a very central area. Valet parking is included in your stay, which was very appreciated. I also really appreciated that you can choose whether or not to pay their $30/night amenity fee which includes breakfast pastries, a daily newspaper, wifi, happy hour in the evening, etc. We opted not to purchase this as we would be gone most of the day; however, then we realized we would have to pay $30/night for wifi or be without it. Unfortunately, we didn’t get great cell service in our room, but $30 a day for wifi on a non-work trip seemed a little steep. Other than this thought, the hotel is flawless and has that “cool” Hollywood vibe. Rooms are sparkling clean, nice linens for the price point, a beautiful “real” bar in the room, dipytique products, and even the most basic room was very large. Their patio with the fire pits is really beautiful and we loved being in a first floor room as it was so accessible. All of the decor/room trimmings were quality and no expense was spared with their renovation. We felt this was a wonderful value (especially the buy 2 nights, get 1 half off available now on their site), and we will definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We arrived early during a rainstorm and not only did they make getting our room ready a priority, they also took our luggage to our room while we went out for a bite to eat. Every single employee we encountered was super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the adorable Marlene Dietrich room which was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. It was a truly fabulous stay. The only bummer is that we didn’t get to spend any time in the beautiful courtyard because of the terrible weather. Thank you!!

The Prospect is a lovely and charming boutique hotel in a great location, close to Melrose, Universal Studios, etc, plus easy access to the freeway. My room was well appointed and clean. You can hear some noise from the courtyard and the room above you if you are on the first floor. The bed was very comfortable. There were basic pastries from Tartine, fruit, and coffee in the morning - these were just ok, but still appreciated. There are a couple firepits in the courtyard which are nice on a cool morning or evening. You can find unlimited free street parking nearby if you pay attention to the signs. There is also a public parking garage on Cherokee towards Hollywood Blvd if you want cheaper parking. I did see broken glass on the street though, so probably the safest parking is in the hotel lot which is $44/night. Staff was very friendly and didn't mind holding onto my bags on the day I checked out. I think the hotel could be improved by adding a hot tub and/or a small gym, or nearby commercial gym access. I recommend this hotel for a quiet, private boutique hotel experience at a reasonable price.

The Prospect has a lot going for it. Uniquely designed rooms and hotel layout in a central Hollywood location (Think upscale motel). The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower pressure was good. The courtyard is seductive. The staff are friendly. The little food I did consume was tasty. The only complaint is the internet charge. I would suggest either giving guests free internet or de-coupling it from the daily breakfast charge.
