Overall it was a pretty good hotel from the experience it was ok i only spent around four days here it was a good place but I would recommend it if you wan to go the universal studios, it’s about a thirty minute drive to universal studios so I recommend it.
I don’t recommend this hotel. Overall it was poorly lit and gloomy both in the common areas and in the room. My room had one large window entirely blocked by a brick wall situated only a few inches away from the glass. My room had no source of ventilation for fresh air into the room, no decorations at all, damaged furniture, and an uncomfortable bed with two flat pillows. The underground parking garage that is so tiny that I could not avoid scratching my back bumper while leaving, despite my best efforts. The garage also was very poorly lit and had a deserted feel which made me uneasy. Considering the hefty price for a one-night stay, I would give this hotel less than one out of five stars. I advise booking any other hotel in the same area if it is within the same price range.
I was greeted by a friendly clerk to get my room. Parking is a little tight for a SUV but it's on location. I walked in our room and it was very clean and the AC works very well. Room is a little small but it is nice though. Bathroom is very well kept and tidy. Beds are comfortable and clean.
What a nightmare staying at this hotel. The only reason we have not rated it as terrible is because the staff did try - but to be honest they are fighting a losing battle with this place. The whole building needs a complete refurb and should be shut down until this is done. We were given our room key by friendly reception staff and headed upstairs. On entering the room there was a very strange smell, the carpets were very badly stained and the bed felt as hard as a rock. The temperature outside was around 26 degrees as the room was stuffy. The first thing we did was try to switch on the air con but we could not get it to work. We rang down stairs and, to be fair to the staff, the Manager was there within minutes. He did the usual switch it off / switch it back on again but that didn't work. At that stage he said it was broken but would find us another room - luckily we hadn't unpacked. We were then taken to another room down the next corridor but this room was one of their Standard rooms (we had booked a Deluxe room). We pointed this out to the Manager but he initially said, as we had booked through Expedia, that he could not offer us any reduction for downgrading our room. We pointed out that this was not acceptable and he told us to wait while he liaised with reception. Eventually we were told there were no more Deluxe rooms available but they would upgrade us to a Suite. We were then taken down another corridor to the next room - the air con worked this time which was a bonus but the room itself had definitely seen better days. The furniture looked like something from the 1960's and was dented / scratched / broken like it had been used since the 1960's too! The bed was so hard it would have probably have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor. After we had unpacked we decided to go out and explore the area. As we went to leave the room we noticed that the door was not closing properly (with all our property in the room and NO safe we could not leave) so had to ring down to reception again. Once again we have to say that the staff were quick to come up but they struggled to mend the door. After almost 1 hour, and 3 memeber's of staff, the door eventually closed but we were told to be "careful" when we came and went!! On the 2nd day we noticed that the air con was stuck permanently on 72 degrees and would not move and the door refused to lock on our way out AGAIN so we had to wait for staff to attend again! There was no bin in the room, we advised staff on reception twice but one never appeared. On the 2nd day we used a carrier bag to collect the rubbish up, the maid came - took the bag, but still did not take the hint to leave a bin!!! On our 3rd day out we returned to find the door to our room was open. Luckily nothing was taken but this down to pure luck. We raised it with staff and were told that only the maid had been to the room that day, obviously the lock failed on her same as it had on us but she made no attempt to secure it or let reception know. All in all with faulty air con, furniture that looks like it came out of the ark, stained and smelly carpets, beds that are so hard they are virtually impossible to sleep on, poor hygiene with no bins etc in the rooms, and a total lack of security to the rooms I would not recommend a stay at the Garden Suites Hotel and will not be returning.…
The hotel and room in particular had a very strong smell, like Korean food. The beds were decently comfortable though, and the bathrooms looked fairly new as if they had been remodeled, unlike the rest of the room. The carpet looked pretty dirty. The TV had mostly Korean channels, but we eventually found one that was in English. There is a fridge in the room though which was convenient, and it's located near several restaurants and across from a grocery store.
one of worst Hotel, if you are not Korean nobody don't even take noticed of you. You are nobody. Spa? no way it's a lie. Dirty, smells old, paperwalls noisy AC and typical low class hotel. Homeless people in area be careful. No securitybox.Anthing positive? sorry NO. It was a mistake and never come back here again
It starts already when you walk in. Dirty carpets reeking of carpet cleaner. Holes in all furniture, and a very unfriendly young woman behind the receptions desk. I wonder how many Months (or years) since the vacuumed the carpet in the “Grand Stairway” up to the 2nd floor. Rooms smells of tobacco smoke. Bed linen stained. Bathroom towels stained. Walls are ultra thin. You can hear just about any conversation in the adjoining rooms, including snoring and other “activities”. My colleague had to change rooms 3 times before they found a clean one. Over all, the hotel is worn down. Staff (with one exception) is rude and not service minded (unless you are Korean). Borderline racism? Maybe. If you want service and a smile, speak Korean. The word arrogance comes to mind. Poor Housekeeping, zero attention to detail. Oh, and avoid the “Cocktail Bar”. Staff is even more inattentive and rude in there. Positives? Well, the A/C worked. It did make a lot of noise though……..…
I am going to start off saying, reading the reviews for this hotel prior to arriving had me prepared for the absolute worse. But I must say that I was pleasantly surprised! Check in was fast and easy, the desk clerk explained the deposit and explained how the parking worked. I was booked in the King Room and it was really nice. Everything was really clean and while the carpet didn’t look the best, I believe it’s because they have lighter carpet and it tends to show wear and tear worse. I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be back when I return to LA!
The hotel is ok for a basic hotel. I would say you get what you pay for but to be honest all L.A. hotels are way too expensive and I expected more. The room was small and old fashioned yet it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The service was ok and reception was good enough to lend me an adapter. It is an ok location, close to LA by car and the hotel offered parking which was good.
My definition of a resort means you have grounds to walk around, a pool and a few other amenities. This hotel has none of that. The room we booked was quite small for the price. The location is a bit off the beaten path of LA. And the room had a bit of a funky smell. With that being said once we got some Lysol and an air freshener, the hotel was quite comfortable. The best feature is the parking situation. It's free and very secure in my opinion. The location if you were to look on Google Maps street view looks quite questionable. However once you were there you can feel very safe. There is a Ralphs supermarket across the street. And a McDonald's right next to the place. However the McDonald's is quite scary! If you are looking to spend some time on the outskirts of LA, this place is an ideal location. It is by driving minutes away from a lot of touristy places.…
