We are all surprise never stayed in a hostel in the past but Samesun Hollywood was definitely good experience for 5 of us..It’s location was great very accessible to everything maintained it cleanliness all the times ,very hardworking staff making sure the ladies toilet and shower was clean after use.Kitchen was a bonus we manage to cook our dinner and sometimes our breakfast.There’s included breakfast but be aware always busy and crowded from 0700-0900 AM. We tried different times but remain the same,we kind of enjoy the business anyway they have nice Bagel ,Coffee.Also the Orange was nice and sweet.I think not everyone’s cup of tea especially if your in a mixed group of unfamiliar people inside the room but for us luckily not for long and paid the other bunk bed as soon as the other person checked out.Otherwise overall great experience.…

Great experience in Samesun Hollywood. Centrally located and right across a metro station. Very clean hostel with large bathrooms to accommodate many guests. Breakfast was nice and rooms not overcrowded. I had a lovely stay.

Great location my room was super comfortable bathroom on another level, great breakfast, there are big stairs to get up to the hostel but the staff very friendly helped me carry bag down, it would be good if you had that in the description as I did find it very difficult to get up the stairs

HONESTLY, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IN PERSON. Men and women should not stay in the same rooms. customers should be honest to let the company know if they have a cold, are sick etc so they'll be placed better. The hooks for clothing outside of the bathroom door should not be so far down. Travel agents push us to book a room, we stay in touch until you get to the room, we end up at a loss because they did not see us in person, even though we showed up on the last day of the days we booked for: at no one's fault it's only because our first time in that state, plane arrived early morning taxes prices are sky high, so we've been lost and found a couple of times trying to take public transportation before we find our way to the Hostel/ after all we already paid for the room. So we ended up having to pay again 😭…

We booked three beds with my friends in a mixed bedroom for 4 people. It was a nice experienced, because we wanted something near from Hollywood Street and we got it. We had a subway station in front of the hostel, and one station from Universal Studios. In hostel amenities, it has the basics and everything clean. The stuff was awesome and they gave us a lot of advices. For sure if I'll come back to this part of L.A, I'll book here again.

Regarding the merits, the location is superior as it is in the mid of the Walk of Fame and surrounded by many museums and stylish malls. The price was adequate, the overall hostel social atmosphere was enjoyable as it was full of diversified nationalities. The drawbacks were the extremely hot weather in the room (handled by only one stand fan) and the unavailability of free parking.

Not the best vibes, they allaw local people to stay and they often have fights during the night. The bathrooms are in different floors (girls upstairs and boy downstairs) Staff was nice, location is convinient for flix bus or to explore the area

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. Please be aware we do not accept guests whom live in the greater Los Angeles area. It is stated on our website, as well as all of our 3rd party websites. All guests arriving have to provide proof of onward travel (Bust, Train, or Flight ticket) that shows they are leaving Los Angeles. We are a traveler’s hostel, and these rules are in place to encourage this atmosphere. Any guests that causes confrontation is required to vacate the premises as we have a no tolerance policy regarding fights. We hope to see you return to Samesun Hollywood in the near future. On two of four nights I was abused for complaining about the noise staff made most of the night, even though I was respectful but assertive when I did so. There was a man that the manager later told me 'just helps out' who sleeps in the common area by day and plays music and cleans at night. On the second night, I complained to the receptionist about his music and he came to my room and called me a "b****". I later had to complain about the receptionist himself as him and three of his friends were loudly talking and laughing in the corridor until about 3am. Two nights later, complained about the noise at 00.15am, then at 4am I was woken by the 'helper' and the cleaner having a very loud shouty conversation outside my door. I complained to the receptionist [the same one who was making noise two nights before until 3am], and he shrugged and said 'quiet time is for the guests only'. I then went directly to the two who were shouting and asked them to be quiet, pointed to the quiet time sign and told them myself and other guests were being woken up. They became aggressive, invading my body space and waving fingers at me and the female cleaner flew into a fifteen minute rage, threatening me with violence, shouting 'I'm a woman!' and 'Do you want to know my name?' and how customers don't pay her salary. She then started removing her outer clothing and offered to fight me in the street [at no point had I threatened her, or insulted her, I was only arguing that guests pay to sleep and should be respected]. I went to the receptionist and demanded to speak to the manager and he was unwilling to help and when he refused I said I would call the police if I received any more violent threats. He then proceeded to call the police in front of me and lie that I had started threatening and abusing his staff for no reason. He then said to me "f*** you, man, f*** you". After the call to the police, the aggressive workers disappeared, and I went to bed as I had not been asked to leave. At 5.30am, the police arrived and he sent them to my room to wake me up. The police did nothing but say people had to be calm, and said that making violent threats is not a reason to arrest someone so I could not press charges, so I went back to bed. The next morning, I checked out and spoke to a man who claimed to be the manager. He refunded me for the previous night and said he would investigate, but said he had been told a different story by his staff. For your own well-being do not stay here. I have never experienced anyone working in the service industry being this disrespectful to customers in my life and I'm in my 40s!…

Hi, Please be aware we have reviewed our camera footage regarding this incident. The way that you verbally attacked multiple staff members in the middle of the night was unacceptable and we don't condone behavior of this nature. We took the high road by refunding you for the night, but after further review, we realized this was the wrong decision. Our staff tried to calm you down multiple times and inform you of the cleaning process overnight. The police were then called because even after our efforts, you continued to verbally assault our staff. For future guests staying at our locations, please be aware this guest has been blacklisted and will no longer be allowed to stay at any of our Samesun locations. Sincerely, Tahj General Manager

My safe haven in LA been staying here for years now like a home to me great areas for guests great rooms clean tidy great people only thing would love to see the showers redone maybe more added though I noticed a new small restroom on floor one !
