Truly a remarkable and historic boutique hotel perfectly located to Venice Beach/ Muscle beach as well as surrounding Santa Monica. In addition to the beautiful sands and ocean a dozen steps away there are wonderful restaurants within minutes walk or uber. Our room had a nice view and a lot of light and you can't beat the ocean air coming into the room every day. The grounds are beautiful and safe/secure. A healthy investment to stay there but worth it.
Loved this place so much. The staff are so friendly, the breakfast delicious and gorgeous tranquil rooms to hideaway from after the crazy but fun times on Venice Beach. Don't change a thing. We were there for 6 days in the Pier Suite and wished we had stayed longer. Thank you in particular Robyn and Holly for just being so kind and accommodating. Hope to come again soon.
There are a lot of positives about this place: the location is excellent. The security is superb. There is a nice continental breakfast in the morning from 8a-10a. The decor is charming. The bath amenities are high end. The staff, when available, is friendly. The grounds are beautiful and there are loungers for relaxing. But you should also know that this is very much a bed and breakfast as opposed to a hotel. There is no individual climate control in the rooms. There are no overhead lights (only lamps) in the room. There are no blackout curtains and ear plugs are provided because there is no soundproofing. The front desk is not manned between 7a-7p although there is a 24-hour number to call should you need assistance. I stayed in the Abbot Kinney room with an en-suite bath. Some rooms share a communal bath. Rooms are fluffed every other day—meaning your bed is made and fresh towels are left. You are one block from the boardwalk and beach.…
The suites at The Venice Beach House allow you to take a load off after a day of getting to know Venice Beach. These are not rooms to just sleep in. This is not just a roof over your head while you stay here. This is an experience in and of itself. The Venice Beach House is a beautiful, soothing, warm, and welcoming place to stay in Venice Beach. And possibly one of the most delicious and wholesome breakfasts around.
I found a gem in the Venice Beach. A. Classic American house which has been there for 108 years. A perfect location that overlooks the beach. A walking distance to many restaurants. Truly an experience to have. The staffs are all friendly and helpful. The house is well maintained. It just felt like our own home. Thank you Brenna and Ally for hosting. Would love to come back someday!!
Two night stay in November. Beautiful property; surprisingly quiet; charming and well-appointed room; simple but terrific breakfast; friendly staff and a very nice dog. 30 seconds from the beach. Looking forward to a return.
This is our 4th stay over 10 or so years. One block off the beach and reasonably convenient to LAX. VBH is an historical summer home built in 1911. It’s now a B&B. Our room was more than $300. Feels old and worn.
In short, we couldn't recommend VBH more. Such a beautiful guest house, beautiful rooms, beautiful bathrooms, amazing staff and great location! We were arriving on a Saturday, and were held up by by a slightly delayed flight and traffic. The front desk closes at 5pm in Saturdays so we panicked and called ahead. The lovely Vanessa told us not to worry, and she was waiting for us regardless which was an amazing first impression. The Uber driver struggled a little to find the place (although now knowing LA better we thing he took the Mickey a bit!), but once you know your surroundings you can see its pretty easy to find. Upon entering the beautiful gate and the beautiful garden, VBH takes your breath away. Even though they were setting up on one side of the garden for a an event, this was also done beautifully and didn't take away from the property at all. Their first event too, a woman's rights movement that was celebrating women with performances, tells and poetry. If we hadn't only been staying in Venice for one night we would have checked it out. The rooms are beautiful, the bathroom is stunning and we just loved everything about the place. The beach is literally about 20 paces away. And my goodness what a view! Straight onto the Venice beach front, you can continue as far as Santa Monica if you want to! Venice is such a diverse, unique, accepting place we absolutely loved everything about it. Also - make sure you have a go on the scooters up and down the beach front, so much fun! Overall, stay at VBH. You wont regret it.…
Very lovely staff and the house is beautiful. The amenities are lacking. No personal bars of soap and previously used shampoo and lotion are provided. At these rates, there should be fresh products especially in the rooms with private baths. Afternoon snacks would have been nice. Breakfast was simply inadequate.
This big house with various rooms was so nice. Our room was great, great bed and especially healthy breakfast in the mornings. What was absolutely perfect was the team of the house. Really helpful and friendly. Need a quiet oase? This is your best choice!
