The most horrendous experience I have ever had with a hotel. The owner met us at the door and at first seemed receptive, but when he saw my wife's service dog he refused to let us in. We explained that our dog is a service animal and even volunteered a registration card (which we are not required to do by law) and he still refused us entry. He told us to cancel the reservation on Hotels.com and I said we couldn't because it was non-refundable. He said he didn't care and that we have a "killer dog". I explained to him that he was currently breaking the law and was not allow to refuse us for having a service animal. He said that we both look fine and are not disabled and do not need a service dog. My wife - who is very visibly 7 months pregnant by-the-way and now in tears - tells him we will sue him. Because she has an accent he started yelling at her that she "is not from here" and to "go back to her country". I thought this sort of bigotry only existed in bad movies. I have never, ever, in all my life experienced such rudeness, ignorance, and discrimination. He refused to give his name and usually I let this sort of blind stupidity slide, but we will be filing a police report tomorrow and pursuing legal action through the U.S. Department of Justice. It boggles my mind that the owner is really so incompetent to either not know the law, or is wilfully breaking the law and putting a tremendous amount of undue stress on a woman in her third trimester. It took a long time for my wife to finally be able to calm down...thank goodness her f***ing service dog was by her side. See you in court. For reference look up "ADA service animal" on the DOJ website. P.S. To the public please do not stay here if you are against that sort of awful and unlawful discrimination. Our dog did not once bark or jump or do anything but sit/lay quietly.…
This guest house is a thirty-minute walk from Univeral Studios Holywood but we didn't need to walk as Mr Ghosn, offered to run us there in his car! The owners are delightful, the price very reasonable for the location and free parking in the driveway of the house, Breakfast is freshly cooked and more than enough.
Mini Mansion is situated in the nicest part of the city, curvaceous Hollywood Hills, with a view to lush Mediterranean trees and the mountains beyond. We had a bit too much baggage but Mr Ghosn carried the suitcases up the garden and indoor stairs to our room.It was small but the welcome was big. We had some interesting talks during our stay, mostly about politics. Breakfast was good, with Mr Ghosn whipping up sausages and eggs while the Mrs made the toast, muffins and bagels. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay with a personal touch.
If you want to stay in the Hollywood Hills for an affordable price, this is the place. It's a guest house with very nice people who share all ins and outs of the neighborhood. You are within the reach of the universal studios and the hollywood sign. But also Hollywood Boulevard is only a 10 minute drive. This is not a hotel, but you stay in the house of a nice couple. Our room was nice and clean and had a view on the hollywood hills. Water and amenities are provided. If you need anything, just ask, and they will try to help. The breakfast is basic, but fair enough. We could park our car on in front of the garage, so that is a plus as well.
My wife and I stayed here to be near her father's house in the Hollywood Hills. The location was perfect for our needs, but would also be ideal for someone visiting Universal Studios. The accommodations were simple -- exactly what we needed.
We stayed at the mini mansion close to universal studios. The owner are friendly and accomodating but I also think they know about the bedbug problem they have and they keep renting this place. The owners live there as well so am sure it affecting their life too. We stayed there for one night on December 15,2018. We woke up and ate breakfast which by the way was good. After breakfast we turned in the keys and went to universal studios that’s when we noticed our 6 year old son was bitten by bed bugs. I am extremely upset because if we don’t catch it on time and bring a bedbug home. For people that don’t know bedbugs are hard to eliminate costing up to thousands. This bugs get into everything. This people need to attack this problem and stop from renting this place until is safe.
We booked through RCI hotels and we told there was plenty of space, WRONG! 3 beds shoved in one bedroom of a house. A flat futon, a blow up air matress and a queen size bed all in one room. Very dark not clean and crowded. We were traveling with 3 couples. I would not recommend this location to anyone. We didn’t even stay. Was so inadequate that we chose to loose $300, in order to not have to walk on dirty carpets and a bathroom that had what looked like someone’s personal belongings in it. Don’t stay!
We stayed one night for a quick trip to LA. After spending a few hours at Universal Studios during a record heatwave, we showed up a half hour before check-in time, and the hosts graciously let us in to our cool and comfortable room. Checking in was easy, but there are quite a few stairs to navigate. We walked a block to Tokyo Cube for a yummy dinner, had a good night's sleep, and a great breakfast the next morning before heading home. We would stay there again if in the area.
We stayed here in May 2018 for three nights, on arrival my first thoughts were oh what have we done... its on a residential street which is attractive but the house itself is crying out for TLC... Up lots of stairs (be aware if you have lots of luggage). There was noone on hand to greet us yet the door was open we had to call to get attention. The entrance way is not the cleanest (cream stair carpet all marked and foot traffic worn). We were shown up more stairs to our room, which in itself was really clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom clean, the towels need replacing and too match and the owners really need to get a window cleaner - great view couldnt see it much. Breakfast was OK, unlimited coffee, waffles, eggs, yoghurts etc and the owner made sure we didnt go without. I would stay here again for a short stay, we literally slept here and went as its their home, and if the outside areas had been more attractive and comfortable (broken chairs and a very green unused garden fountain and dirty ash trays) we would have been tempted to hang out more. If you do stay here make sure you go to Tokyo Cube by the garage at the end of the Street.…
All I can say is wow, everything about the mini mansion in los angeles is perfection. I will give it a five star definitely! To the cleanliness of the house and to the owner, eveything is amazing. Two thumbs up thats for sure! They made us feel right at home and the bed and breakfast was spectacular as well!
